How do I use the Iking`s mod division utilities that come bundled with this Dalek mod update? I can understand how the model creator`s primitives are created, (I used Valve`s Source Engine and sucked at it badly for a year. I did what I did not with this name.) but I don`t understand how to make textures for the .m2f files. Is there some paintdotnet plugin and Texture file editor(like .vtf edit. I never made models with those though.) available for download somewhere? Lastly may someone please make a video tutorial for this?
I'm the current maintainer of the ingame modeler, and that's a known issue. Right now, you need to go to .minecraft/config/mdc/meim/uvmaps/####.png. That's the texture file, so grab a random one and paste it into /meim/textures. Then edit it and load it into the modeler using Load Texture.

Up until last summer when Giraffe joined we only had one active programmer on the project, yofreke and like me they are both college students but ontop of that they have had a full time job for the entire duration of the projects development.
Despite what people expect from us, real life issues and responsibilities get in the way of developing the way we would like to. As a result everything progressed much slower than anyone, more specifically us, were ever happy with. People have this idea that Mod Division and iKingsSGC is some massive corporate entity with an unlimited amount of resources, time and energy when in reality we are a extremely small team with very real responsibilities that interfere with what we love to do on a daily basis.
Now we have Yof, Giraffe and istein programming their magic as regularly as they can and it has brought us up to 1.7.2. We are now in preparation for a building a release candidate for a closed alpha period before releasing Open Alpha sometime soon. I will not speculate as to when soon is because obvious backlash if something in our lives derails those expectations but I can say that the DWCM's train of crazy is speeding down the rails on its way to the players. We are not holding anything back from the players, the mod is not ready meaning it has not been released but we are quickly approaching that tipping point.
Whatever you hear people saying about DWCM release, if is not directly from myself, giraffestock or yofreke....it is not accurate and you should not listen to it at all. DWCM will have a brief Closed Alpha test period and move directly into Open Alpha when the time is right, and that time is coming quicker than anyone in either community is saying. Remember, if it is not coming directly from the MD team it is likely false information. (Also Minecraft has only existed for 5 years and DWCM has been around for 2 years and 9 months.)
As for SWD Team working on DWCM, they have their hands full creating content for you guys in the Dalek Mod and none of us want that to change right now. The core Mod Division team is in the best position we have ever been in to get programming done and things are moving along beautifully as you will see in our DWCM on 1.7.2 preview video that will be edited and released soon.

How many years did it take Minecraft itself to reach full release (not beta OR alpha)? ~1 year for alpha's completion and another for beta's.
