Sonic Ether has updated Shaders mod to 1.5.2 with normal map loading.
I can't do it that fast.
I think I will leave it to him.
I will study about different modding approach.
I want to relief Shaders mod's dependency on OptiFine version.
Hi karyonix,
Can you please clarify some points of your statement?
Are you abandoning the development of the mod completely?
Are you going to join efforts with Sonic Ether?
Can we expect any more releases from you? 1.6?
Anyway, thanks for your efforts and can you please publish the source code of the last preview (1.45.1).
I plan to finish 1.5.x texture loading update and may continue updating a few more versions.
Users may not need my version if Sonic Ether's version is released before mine.
I will probably move on to next project -- converting Shaders mod for FML and do code patching at load time. I hope it will provide greater flexibility and compatibility.
Here is ShadersMod WIP 1.45.2 updated for 1.5.2 D2.
It is just like previous preview. No normal map and specular map for terrain.

Thank you.
According to his FB page Sonic Ether is not a java developer.
It's one thing to port existing code to a newer version and another one to add new functionality.
We shall see.
As I said before you probably should consider accepting donations.

Thank you, kind sir! Props to you and Sonic Ether, all of your hard work and dedication is much appreciated!
I get that issue with a lot of texture packs... the issue is the lightmap.png files.... changing those get rid of the funny lighting while breaking blocks but unfortunately that isn't the only thing it affects so you'll have to mess around with them till you get it how you like.
I believe its a conflict with the shaders and how things are supposed to have reflective lighting and shadowing... either way, modding or changing the lightmaps fixes it
You may need to go to Options - Shaders and set new block breaking to true
Or it could be that you need to delete the grey background to the block breaking textures and leave them transparent.
I'm pretty sure that some else with Sphax had the same problem a little while ago.
I can't remember what resolution this was for (and it's in 1.4.7 format so you'd have to chop it into separate pieces for 1.5.x) but it should work
thats worked for the block breaking but now what about the items lol
Last time i installed this mod (1.4.#) I got a lot of lag (5FPS). I am now running minecraft with 3GB as opposed to 512MB. Is this going to make a difference or am I getting lag issues because my graphics card is only 512MB...
Allocating more ram to minecraft makes about 0.0000000000000000001% difference to your framerate.
If your card is junk you'll get single digits no matter how much you allocate (over 4gb can actually slow things down)
Adding too much RAM to Minecraft makes the game run a lot slower.

Depends on how much memory you have. People only assumed this because someone else said it without an explanation. If you had 3GB's of ram on your laptop/PC etc, and you used 2gb's on Minecraft, it will run slow because you're using up more memory than your computer wants you to. If you had 6Gb's and used 2gb's it wouldn't make much a difference at all.
You gonna have to wait, karyonix is still working on it.
pls
You've seem to take a liking to GLSL Shaders EskimoNoise, so why don't you update it? You obviously are interested with it.

This is my first cinematic made with Shaders mod and some editing in after effects:
