Ok, will see what i can do, at the moment i have got a Hyper-V VM running in the Background that uses 2 Cores of my Cpu in other games this is noc Problem, will try to deactivate it and look if the Lags stop.
I would also highly recommend updating your video card drivers (if you haven't already), as Nvidia/AMD are constantly tweaking and fixing issues like this all the time !
You could also try to force a CrossfireX Profile for java.exe (MC uses the java.exe found in the main Path environment variable first, unless one is specified in the batch executable).. I used to muck with all of this stuff when I ran nVidia SLI -- it was too much of a hassle though, so I went back to high-end single cards.
I doubt it would be the processor that's the problem. It's more likely the Crossfire profile that is the problem. There likely isn't a profile for Java, so it's using a single card. I'm running a 6970 1GB DDR5 card in my I7-2600K with 8GB DDR3-1866 and I still lag a bit (23" 1080P HDMI monitor) when running the SEUS shaders! Crazy to think, I can run every other game imaginable (haven't tried Crysis 3 yet, but DS 3, ME 3 are great), but not MC.. There are a LOT more hard edges in MC than most other games though...lol!
A Hyper-V VM would consume small amounts of CPU, memory would be a larger concern there, but all of the shading is handled by the Shader Cores / CUDA Cores on the video card -- not the CPU !
EDIT: BTW, Optifine has a HUD that you can enable that shows FPS, memory usage, etc. Settings -> Video Options -> Other (lower-right)
So then the buggy release is dropping the fps for AMD-guys?
GLSL Shaders users should expect lower FPS because there's more to render.
As for AMD cards, I'm using an AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB with Chocapic13's Shaders and a 256x Texture Pack with no low FPS issues, not sure where you're coming from with that speculation about AMD and framerates.
I stopped using SEUS because of framerate issues...
I plan on switching over to Chocapic13's, seeing as he is using a SEUS base, with optimizations and other custom shader functionality incorporated. I figure the best of both worlds :)!
He's got some tweaks posted as well for Optifine config, I think I had mine cranked too far with all of my excitement ... lolz!
It could simply be that setting up Optifine @ default, or @ Chocapic13's settings and using SEUS would work just fine...
I can't use your shaderpack and not sure why this happened. When I join a world, it shows me that invalid program composite1. But I can use both SEUS and Chocapic13's shaderpacks.
Just thought I'd share this with you and the rest of the Shader lovers around here
Could you PLEEEEEEEEEASE post your settings for Optifine, which shader version and shaderpack you're using and if you did any modifications to the shaderpack files?
I wanted to get something like that going, but I gave up after wasting my entire afternoon today and not gettin more than 20 FPS at best!

I wanted to get something like that going, but I gave up after wasting my entire afternoon today and not gettin more than 20 FPS at best!
I'm with you :D!
I would love to get a good base settings config, and tweak it to run just the way I want it ... I just don't know where to start. lol!
Mhhh, have disabled Hyper-V, made a custom Profile for my CrossfireX Chain and have lowered the resolution to 1280x1024, now everything runs smooth even with everything set to fancy.
The newest drivers and the Profiles are installed (I look every two weeks for that :-) )
And with the other Games, that's really weird, Mass Effect 3 only uses 30% from each card (2x 30%) with a Phenomenal Graphic Crysis 3 (Very Heavy) Lags with highes Settings but i can Play it on mixed High/Medium Settings with unbelievable Graphic
But no other Game gives me so much fun like Minecraft, i can play it again and again and it won't get bored. And with this Shader Mod + Seus the Water is so cool, it is really fun to build underwater Homes
Will enable Hyper-V again to see if it keeps running smooth,
I totally agree, you can play through a game once, and it's fun & good ... but that's it, the game is over. MC on the other hand, just keeps on giving (and growing ;))!
It just dawned on me that MC rarely uses over 1GB of RAM anyways, it tends to prefer in the 300-500MB range with launchers, and upwards of say 2GB if you have a -tonne of mods installed. I give my install 2GB, but it never uses anywhere near that much (64-bit Java 1.7.0.17) and I have ~60 mods installed. Point being, running the Hyper-V in the background and using up a couple GB of RAM ... if you've got 8GB, you're still nowhere near capacity.
Sorry that the AppProfiles didn't take care of the issue, nor did creating a new profile ... that sucks dude! Quick google search, anyone else using AMD video get Crossfire working with a custom profile?

The shader pack I'm using is the one a few pages back posted my Alexei. I actually quoted the post with it in the post you quoted.
the shader version is the 1.5 beta that was posted on page 57 or 58.
I believe I am using OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_A8
as for the optifine settings, It;s all computer dependent, play around with every setting see what raises/lowers fps adjust it so it looks good, and enjoy.
It also greatly helps to have a good computer. Ill post what I'm running so you can compare.
specs:
GPU - GTX 660 Ti FTW+ 3Gb 192-bit (no overclock)
CPU - i5 2500K (ZALMAN CNPS11X Extreme cpu cooler)
PSU - KINGWIN Lazer LZ-1000 1000W Modular 80 PLUS BRONZE
RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600
HDD - WD 1TB 7200 rpm
MOBO - EVGA Z68 SLI
CASE - Corsair Obsidian Series 650D
my fps is about 40-60 with shaders and a 256x pack 512 packs bring me down to about 25-35.
I have 4Gb ram allocated to Java.
There, hope these specs help a bit, let me know if you have any other questions

Then I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I downloaded that same shaderpack you quoted, I have the latest OptiFine for 1.4.7 (HD_U_D5), the shaders mod for that exact version of OptiFine, I injected the shader mod last, injecting the latest forge, then OptiFine, then the shaders, and I have a system similar to yours: i7 870 (2.93GHz), EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2Gb (non OC'd), (only) 4Gb OCZ Gold PC12600 @ 8-8-8-24 (iirc), a run of the mill samsung 500Gb HDD on SATAII, CoolerMaster GW750 PSU, CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus 120mm fancooler...
It's not running hot, it's got enough juice, I'm giving it 2Gbs of RAM for MC alone, not running anything else, the process has high priority through task manager...
I HAVE to be doing something wrong, I only get 19 FPS inside my house, barely break 25-30 if I stand still in the middle of nowhere!

I'm using the Faithful x64 pack, and just matched up the mods I installed to the pack. The quality jump from the stock textures to the x64 pack was enough for me ! I'd be curious to check out other packs, but my kids and I are having too much fun with the extra mods -- I'd hate to start mixing x16 and x128/x256 textures !
I'm curious, do you force AA/AF through the nVidia settings? Seeing as they are both disabled as soon as Shaders are enabled. How are your Quality/Other settings? Do you push MIPMAPS or tweak any of the CHUNK LOADING settings? I'd love some screenies just to get a good place to start. I've mucked around a good amount trying to get things to run smooth with different shader packs. I really like SEUS -- it's just extremely taxing .
I haven't installed them yet, as I thought by his post it was just water? I was going to add them to Chaopic's and make a blended shader pack ... another thing I haven't gotten around to !
I'm still on 1.44 (MC147) as a few of the mods I run haven't been ported yet. I have a test install setup, but it's not my primary MC by any means.
Here are my specs:
GPU - XFX Radeon HD 6950 1GB 256-bit (unlocked shaders)
CPU - Intel i7 2600K (Corsair H80 Dual 120MM Fan)
PSU - Corsair HX850 Modular 80 PLUS GOLD
RAM - Corsair Dominator 8GB DDR3 1866
HDD - 4x WD 1.5TB 7200 rpm RAID10
MOBO - ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
CASE - Antec PerformanceOne Mid-Tower

Because vector can't get pixels. This not dark - this is holes!
Also, try V7 V8. chocapic13, (pic, pic...) my reason for not accepting your code of reflections - I found few bugs and glitches, include block reflections. I used own code, but with some configuration and changes.
I long time cannot found full quality and high FPS. Need wait 1-10 year, for all buy new video cards, and probably we can found universal solution.

mormoran, could be a forge problem, I dont use forge so Im not sure.
but with that system you should be running it fine, what resolution packs are you trying to run?
I guess I'll list some optifine settings it think may help/ are important. (keep in mind I'm no expert, Im still learning as well.)
I looked it up and your CPU has 4 cores so make sure you are using Multi-core chunk loading, its on the mian page of video settings.
I have my render distance at normal because it looks fine and give a nice fps boost, dont be too greedy.
Advanced open GL:fast

see I havent really changed much I guess, the rest of the options are all default.
Also Im using the 1.5 BETA shader mod from page 57 so that could make a big difference.

I don't force anything through the Nvidia settings, no particular reason just never fiddle with it.
I'm pushing max linear MIPMAP but it doesn't really affect my fps from what Ive noticed.
Like I said above I set chunk loading to multicore. Im sure your i7 has muti-threading so technically has 8 cores?

Yeah, it is a quad with multi-threading so it reports as 8 cores. It has been great, the machine also serves as an FTP, file server, media sharing device, and video converter. It's pretty busy...
I've got a bunch of settings turned on, and cranked (I believe I have the settings you referenced turned on)... I'll have to reset the video options to default, setup what you/Chocapic recommend, and run from there.
I'll be dropping in the latest Chocapic and Alexei shader packs. I don't know who's ahead of who now, or who's shared what, or whatever....I'm confused! haha!
I'm with SkyChaseZone...
You can go to AMD.COM and download the latest CrossfireX Application Profiles to see if it adds proper support for Java.
