All I get is blurry items (I have seen that happen in videos. So it's normal) and the focusy thing where until i look at something, it is blurry. I don't get shadows, lens flare, dynamic lighting and other stuff. Why? Also, when I use Magic Launcher to use Optfine nothing happens.
Hmmm... I no get shadows. I get the wavy and movement effects / blurring though.
I got the very same problem.
What I did:
- Force-updated minecraft.jar so I start from scratch
- Downloaded latest optifine and latest version of this mod
- Installed optifine by extracting the files in the Minecraft.jar folder and deleted META-INF.
- Ran the installer.exe (does the same as running the .jar file in the GLSL folder) and installed the mod. No errors occured, proof of proces is visible in the minecraft.jar file.
All things I see from this mod is the waving water, animated trees, animater grass and the FOV-edge blurring. I see no lighting results and shadows, lensflares when aiming at the sun or dynamic lighting, nothing of what the mod is mainly about.
Some of you misunderstand the features of this mod.
If you see waving water, tall grass, flowers, wheat, and depth-of-field effect, then you have install it correctly and it works.
There is no {shadow, lens flare, new light, new water, etc.} in "daxnitro's GLSL Shaders mod v2.1.6 for Minecraft 1.3.1" which this mod is derived from.
But you can install alternative shaders (*.fsh, *.vsh) created by other authors.
Many effects {shadow, lens flare, new light, new water, etc.} you see in other users' screenshots are from the popular "Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders" which is an alternative shaders set.
"Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders" is a shaders mod of daxnitro's GLSL Shaders.
Sonic Ether's files are *.fsh *.vsh in shaders\ subfolder of his zip file.
The latest unofficial public release from Sonic Ether is v10 RC5.
It comes with "daxnitro's GLSL Shaders mod v2.1.6 for Minecraft 1.3.1" which does not work on 1.3.2 or 1.4.2.
But it can also run on this updated mod for Minecraft 1.4.2.
You can replace 1.3.1 mod in "Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders" with updated 1.4.2 mod by copying all files except *.fsh *.vhs from 1.4.2 installation package to the extracted folder in SEUS installation package, replacing *.class files for 1.3.1 with *.class files for 1.4.2 while keeping SEUS *.fsh *.vsh files. You must also do other things as described in SEUS readme files to make it work correctly.
Normal mapping, reflection does not work correctly with aniostropic filtering, antialiasing, and connected texture, so make sure these options are OFF.
If it is v10rc5 you also should delete gbuffers_water.fsh and vsh files and replace them with copy of gbuffers_textured_lit.fsh and vsh renamed to gbuffers_water.fsh and vsh .
so you use the standard shaders? then you cant expect it to look like in my or other screenshots. most of the people use the sonic ether shaders(just as I do). only those contain the named effects
Then how do I get those and install those? Nothing is said about that in the opening post, but still claimed to be included (demonstration pictures).

You want to be a dragon? Well, then you need to have wings, a passion to hoard, and have a deadly breath.
Oh, and did I forgot to tell you dragons are extremely territorial? ROAWR >:)
@Anhrak
No, I did not claim that.
Also I did not post any picture in this thread.
I plan to write more detailed installation procedure but I don't have much free time at my place in last few day. I will do it when I go back.
Old users may have already know how to install GLSL Shaders mod and Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shader from daxnitro's thread or sonix ether's thread or facebook or youtube. They can use this updated mod quickly before I write detailed installation guide. They just post their screenshot.
Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shader v10rc5 was available at https://www.facebook.com/SonicEther/posts/285182671594160 .
Unfortunately, some people say the mediafire download does not work anymore. New user may have to wait for new download link.
there's boxes around the grass, leaves , other plants and the grass looks weird. whats also weird is that i downloaded the 1.2.5 version for 1.2.5 and it has the same problem. please help!
I get these speeds with my old and new computers.
12-16 FPS on NVIDIA 8800GT 1GB + Core2Duo E8400 + 4GMRAM
32-40 FPS on NVIDIA GTX460 768MB + Core i5 3570 + 8GB RAM
From what I read from internet, HD5670 is slightly slower than 8800GT in many games.
Hey man, really appreciate the work on updating this, however I'm getting a problem when I press F1 ingame, I get a white sky. I've tested with default texture pack and it does the same:
Looking forward to your reply, thanks!

I love this mod...it makes minecraft more beautiful...but I kinda have a little problem...as you see in my screenshot http://imgur.com/6MMbB
is it a problem with my graphics card?? my graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 610M by the way
hmm that card should work properly hell it may be better than my Nvidia Geforce GTX 560. it may be an install problem
Hi I need help, when i am playing minecraft with my settings far, fancy and all that jazz my minecraft works fine and i can get up to 200 -250 fps but when i install shaders my minecraft drops to about 10fps and i dont know why i am sure my computer is good enough but it never seems to work here are my specs hope you can help
ATI Radeon HD 5670 GPU
Intel i3 duel core processor
4gb RAM
1TB hard drive (but i don't think that's relevant or not)
Thanks!
by god that computer is crap. buy yourself an Nvidia GTX 560 (non TI is fine but TI is better) and a Core I5 or I7 and that should fix it. a lil more ram will not hurt anything either
I followed a few tutorials namley this one here And almost everything works, one issue being the john smith pack shows up bright. I understand that might not be compatable, but my real issue is with the texture packs that ARE supposed to work. R3D (edited to work) and OVO's rustic both give me an error with the torches. The light from the torches flash on and off randomly and mess with the overall color. I have uninstalled, forced update, deleted minecraft.jar, rinse and repeat to no success :/
Edit: Fixed the issue by completely deleting the guts of my .minecraft folder and reinstalling. you can leave last login, server.dat and texturepacks.

Nah..I fixed it...changed the chunk loading settings...or something..
nevermind, it was because i used multi-core rendering

Nothing is said about that In the main post.
I tested on the latest Dokucraft 1.4.2 and the default tex pack.
Derhut, I fear many people have this problem. We could do with a solution.

That is correct. But I don't want legal problem.
I will try to make it easier to install in future release.

Look up graphics scores from http://community.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu .
NVIDIA GeForce 610M = 620
AMD Radeon HD 5670 = 1790
Compare with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 = 3680
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti = 4720
