I have a similar problem on my 7950 - I start a map, the game freezes, all I see is sun glare, the AMD Driver problem, and I have to force quit using Task Manager.
I had those issues. You can either use the edited Sonic Ether's Shaders (like tusing did) or use the proper version of Forge, which is Build 188.8.131.528. You may want to go to http://www.files.minecraftforge.net/ for the download.
Are there any shaders packs that will work without optifine. Because optifine is acting wierd with trees and water updating. Its to buggy to have an enjoyable time how I play minecraft. I like to build and find out new things within the game, and its messing up the game!
