So it has nothing to do with my drivers? I just installed the new beta version to see if the problem is fixed because downgrading isn't an option for me. :/
I need help with the shaders. I've downloaded the shaders and the mod but everytime I choose SEUS or any shaders, my minecraft crashes. I've changed all the setting to the way it is best and my computer is fairly new. Please help

Sorry, that's not entirely true. grimallq is correct in what he was saying, just not the problem in your specific case (with the errors that you were getting). Any driver version ending in 34XX will generally throw an error in JAVA with an EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION IN IG4DEV64.DLL (it may be a different driver name). There is a possibility that Intel fixed this issue in it's latest drivers -- I haven't tested..
Once you are running version 32XX or 33XX (posted several times through this thread), you typically get the errors that you posted. This is normal.
Intel is extremely strict and stringent when it comes to OpenGL coding (GLSL). AMD is up next, and lastly is nVidia. This is why the 'most compatible' video cards are nVidia, they basically run anything, and at a good performance.
Downgrading your driver shouldn't be a problem for any 3rd/4th generation CPUs, whether it is Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1. Why can't you downgrade?

Click the + beside display adapters, and can you list which device you have there?
Double-click on it, go to the driver tab, and list the driver version. Then go the details tab, change the dropdown to Hardware IDs (the 2nd one), and list the bottom entry (VEN_####&DEV_####).

Whenever I start Minecraft and choose a save file, the screen blinks from black to the dirt background like crazy. I thought Optifine was causing this problem. (lol) I only realized that the shaders are causing the problem.
So... Is it impossible for me to try on some shaders?
And oh, another bit of info... The Shaders Mod Core is actually the one who causes the blinking issue. I tried it WITHOUT any shaders installed into my "shaderpack" folder. And without it, no shaders for meh. I removed it from my "mods" folder and the rest of the game works fine. Obviously, no shaders!!

What video card do you have in your computer?
Make sure that you have a shaderpack selected, and that it is compatible with your PC.
Also make sure your Forge (if you are running 1.7.2 or 1.6.4) is compatible with GLSL Shaders.
This could be AntiAliasing, Chunk Loading, or drivers.
This is a common issue with Intel drivers, but easy to fix.... We need more info there mate :).
I had a funny feeling. The flickering dirt screen happens most frequently on systems with Intel Graphics.
GLSL Shaders acts funny if you run it with your shaderpack set to <none> or <internal>. For your Intel GPU, I would run Sildur's Basic, or some others have recommended Mr.Meeps.
I take it you're running MC 1.7.2. Make sure your Forge is the recommended build 1040-1047 (for GLSL 2.3.12). Forge 1058-1060 caused problems with Intel systems, crashes on boot. The latest 1063/1065 work fine as well. Update if you have to.
Go to start, rt-click computer, lt-click properties, lt-click device manager, lt-click the + beside display adapters, dbl-click the Intel G41 Adapter, lt-click the drivers tab .. what driver version is it? If it ends in 34XX we need to roll back to 32XX or 33XX to get you running.

Let me check out those drivers, and see why they wouldn't update for you.
EDIT: Your integrated card is in those drivers, so it should have installed and updated without issues. If you are still running Windows XP the Hardware IDs list for XP is empty, you need to download a different driver for XP.

I tried my best to make it clear that I have singled down almost every possibility I know of. I flipped around in the settings. No avail for me. SEUS 10.1 still has the artifacting. The card is close to two months old with proper ventilation. Advance OpenGL is on fancy and I flipped through fancy fast and none, I tried multi-core and the thread optimizer being off, still nothing. I decided I would turn mimapping on and go to 4, Aniso is on 16. MipMapping type in also on linear.
tl;dr I tried everything except for a rollback on the driver. This has been doing in since I got the card too. So, I am at a loss and when I return I will try a driver rollback.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I get this to work with 1.7.9? I like to play online, so the version is necessary. I tried downloading the 1.7.5 file from here just to see if it would work, but when I run the .jar installer and tell it where to install, it tells me I need optifine 1.7.4, which won't work with the latest version.
Is there anything that can be done? I'm not very experienced with this, so any help would be appreciated.

Sir, shaders did install. It is just simply saying that it did not find any optifine version installed, so it installed to 1.7.5 as a copy of 1.7.5. All you need to do now is add a shaderpack, select it in the pause menu and then play.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I get this to work with 1.7.9? I like to play online, so the version is necessary. I tried downloading the 1.7.5 file from here just to see if it would work, but when I run the .jar installer and tell it where to install, it tells me I need optifine 1.7.4, which won't work with the latest version.
Is there anything that can be done? I'm not very experienced with this, so any help would be appreciated.
Aelihe, GLSL shaders mod is not updated for 1.7.9 I believe. As for the 1.7.5 file, GLSL 1.7.5 is needing Optifine 1.7.5. GLSL 1.7.4 needs Optifine 1.7.4. If it asks for 1.7.4 then you downloaded 1.7.4 GLSL. The best you an do is wait for a major update from MC or a GLSL update or find 1.7.4/1.7.5 servers.
As for my own problem, I have rolled back to 335.23 drivers and still I have the artifacting issue. Does anyone have any idea what could be doing it?

its a public computer so.....yeah it sucks....
The problem is your video driver is build 34XX or later.
What video card is in your computer? G41/G45, HD 2000/2500/3000/4000/5000?
We can find a driver that hopefully you can install..
EDIT: Ok, so I did some digging now that I have a moment (lunch time ;)). You are running an I5-4570 with an Intel HD 4600 embedded in it, on Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Swipe the right edge of the screen and go into the control panel. Then go to programs and features. Find Intel HD Graphics in the list, click on it, and click uninstall. Reboot if needed. Then install the driver that you downloaded above.
I tried my best to make it clear that I have singled down almost every possibility I know of. I flipped around in the settings. No avail for me. SEUS 10.1 still has the artifacting. The card is close to two months old with proper ventilation. Advance OpenGL is on fancy and I flipped through fancy fast and none, I tried multi-core and the thread optimizer being off, still nothing. I decided I would turn mimapping on and go to 4, Aniso is on 16. MipMapping type in also on linear.
tl;dr I tried everything except for a rollback on the driver. This has been doing in since I got the card too. So, I am at a loss and when I return I will try a driver rollback.

So -- I suppose if your graphics in Options -> Video were set to Fast (why?! your video card is decent...) that could be the cause.

Ya, you can't run v08 because they are too old, there are problems with them (water especially) on any MC version 1.6.2 and up. Typically, clipping (the waves in the water cut off and leave holes), kind of what yours is doing but in your case the holes are artifacting -- but some of your waves are fine too.
Sildur's Vibrant, MrMeeps, and Chocapic's are absolutely excellent -- but SEUS is amazing ! I use Sildur's on my notebook and tablet, and HTPC because they don't have the video to back-up SEUS (and they handle 1080p video just fine, so it's not worth upgrading video to me). SEUS is on my 2 main PCs.
I would kick your ShadowResMul back up to 1.000, and change your hand depth to 0.0625.
According to the SEUS Thread your CloudShadow, Block Damage, and Lighting are all good:

I have the fixes from the 1st one applied already myself. I don't really have any issues with water, so, I haven't tried the 2nd one. HeyLowJoe is pretty awesome, his fixes all worked on the previews (and the final) so far.

Sildur's Basic 1.02 work fine, but you need to patch up gbuffers_terrain.vsh and change the WAVING_CARROTS/POTATOES to WAVING_CARROTS_POTATOES (it is in there twice). Unfortunately the Basic 1.03 have some issues I haven't pinpointed yet.
I'm helping him where I can to improve Intel compatibility, his new drivers are looking really good, and run well. Looking forward to the Light-Intel and Vibrant-Intel versions!

Sorry, that's not entirely true. grimallq is correct in what he was saying, just not the problem in your specific case (with the errors that you were getting). Any driver version ending in 34XX will generally throw an error in JAVA with an EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION IN IG4DEV64.DLL (it may be a different driver name). There is a possibility that Intel fixed this issue in it's latest drivers -- I haven't tested..
Once you are running version 32XX or 33XX (posted several times through this thread), you typically get the errors that you posted. This is normal.
Intel is extremely strict and stringent when it comes to OpenGL coding (GLSL). AMD is up next, and lastly is nVidia. This is why the 'most compatible' video cards are nVidia, they basically run anything, and at a good performance.
Downgrading your driver shouldn't be a problem for any 3rd/4th generation CPUs, whether it is Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1. Why can't you downgrade?
What error do you get when you install any mods?
You may need to allocate more memory, or bump up your PermSize.
Sounds like Forge needs to be reinstalled.
If you are running Optifine, it can interfere with other mods, you may need to apply the FML patch that Karyonix made for 1.6.4.

Click the + beside display adapters, and can you list which device you have there?
Double-click on it, go to the driver tab, and list the driver version. Then go the details tab, change the dropdown to Hardware IDs (the 2nd one), and list the bottom entry (VEN_####&DEV_####).
We should be able to figure out which driver you need to get you running.

Let me check out those drivers, and see why they wouldn't update for you.
EDIT: Your integrated card is in those drivers, so it should have installed and updated without issues. If you are still running Windows XP the Hardware IDs list for XP is empty, you need to download a different driver for XP.

I would check your Advanced OpenGL (not likely the cause) and Chunk Loading (I think this may be the culprit). If your Chunk Loading is Multi-Core, you need to go into the nVidia Control Panel, go to 3D Settings, click on Threaded Optimization, and change it to OFF (then save).
The other think you can check is MipMapping & Anisotropic Filtering (I use these without issues, so they should work). AntiAliasing does not work -- it kind of causes the issue you describe, but it is the entire screen.

I noticed the update for 337, but I haven't tried applying the update yet to see what changes there are.
It's funny, because that kind of 'artifacting' would normally occur when the video card is overheating, but you only get it in the water, so I don't think that is your cause !
I tried my best to make it clear that I have singled down almost every possibility I know of. I flipped around in the settings. No avail for me. SEUS 10.1 still has the artifacting. The card is close to two months old with proper ventilation. Advance OpenGL is on fancy and I flipped through fancy fast and none, I tried multi-core and the thread optimizer being off, still nothing. I decided I would turn mimapping on and go to 4, Aniso is on 16. MipMapping type in also on linear.
tl;dr I tried everything except for a rollback on the driver. This has been doing in since I got the card too. So, I am at a loss and when I return I will try a driver rollback.
Is there anything that can be done? I'm not very experienced with this, so any help would be appreciated.

Sir, shaders did install. It is just simply saying that it did not find any optifine version installed, so it installed to 1.7.5 as a copy of 1.7.5. All you need to do now is add a shaderpack, select it in the pause menu and then play.
Aelihe, GLSL shaders mod is not updated for 1.7.9 I believe. As for the 1.7.5 file, GLSL 1.7.5 is needing Optifine 1.7.5. GLSL 1.7.4 needs Optifine 1.7.4. If it asks for 1.7.4 then you downloaded 1.7.4 GLSL. The best you an do is wait for a major update from MC or a GLSL update or find 1.7.4/1.7.5 servers.
As for my own problem, I have rolled back to 335.23 drivers and still I have the artifacting issue. Does anyone have any idea what could be doing it?

The problem is your video driver is build 34XX or later.
What video card is in your computer? G41/G45, HD 2000/2500/3000/4000/5000?
We can find a driver that hopefully you can install..
EDIT: Ok, so I did some digging now that I have a moment (lunch time ;)). You are running an I5-4570 with an Intel HD 4600 embedded in it, on Windows 8.1 64-bit.
The driver that you want to install is this one:

Swipe the right edge of the screen and go into the control panel. Then go to programs and features. Find Intel HD Graphics in the list, click on it, and click uninstall. Reboot if needed. Then install the driver that you downloaded above.
Hmm.. So, Optifine 1.7.4 Ultra D1 and GLSL 2.3.14? Only SEUS v10.1 (which specific version?) causes the visual artifacting issue?
What settings do you have configured in the shaders button (right side)? How about your video/optifine settings?
If you go into Options -> Video -> Details the water option says:
So -- I suppose if your graphics in Options -> Video were set to Fast (why?! your video card is decent...) that could be the cause.

Optifine and GLSL versions are correct for 1.7.4, I only tried SEUS 10.1 Ultra. Also, water is on fancy.
Yeah Above in the spoiler is my settings... I may have them messed up... but I am still new to the whole shaders thing. And the artifacting also happens on v08 too.
Ya, you can't run v08 because they are too old, there are problems with them (water especially) on any MC version 1.6.2 and up. Typically, clipping (the waves in the water cut off and leave holes), kind of what yours is doing but in your case the holes are artifacting -- but some of your waves are fine too.
Sildur's Vibrant, MrMeeps, and Chocapic's are absolutely excellent -- but SEUS is amazing ! I use Sildur's on my notebook and tablet, and HTPC because they don't have the video to back-up SEUS (and they handle 1080p video just fine, so it's not worth upgrading video to me). SEUS is on my 2 main PCs.
I would kick your ShadowResMul back up to 1.000, and change your hand depth to 0.0625.

I have the fixes from the 1st one applied already myself. I don't really have any issues with water, so, I haven't tried the 2nd one. HeyLowJoe is pretty awesome, his fixes all worked on the previews (and the final) so far.
