I looked through a few pages but couldn't find an answer. Mod works great on my system but it looks like a nuke went off on the ground. Its super bright. I even turned the brightness in game to "moody" and it doesn't change anything. ANyway to make it less bright? Thanks

I am using this mod on this topic (Shaders Mod), Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders and Mr Meeps x3 Shaders. Although Mr Meeps crashes if I select it in game (some GL error). So I never touch Meeps,

Ok, so, SEUS..
Which one?
v10.0
v10.1 Preview 1
v10.2 Preview 2
Usually, the mod is too dark, and people need to brighten it up.. You can still adjust the ambient light, and make it darker.
What video card/driver are you using in your computer?
Hmm I'm not sure which version. I downloaded what the most recent versions were yesterday from this forum. I'll have to look for the ambient lighting option, don't recall seeing one. ATI Radeon HD 4850 is my current card. Driver is Advanced Micro Devices 8.920.0.0.
If it helps here are two screenshots of the settings:

Hmm, that's a pretty old video card. It might get the job done, but running SEUS on there is going to be rough.
I see you're running SEUS v10 RC6, the last version of GLSL Shaders that worked on was for Minecraft 1.5.2 !
BTW, your ShadowResMul and RenderResMul are going to liquify your video card. Those are crazy overkill settings! They are at 1.0000 by default for each. The only time I've seen them changed is bumping the RenderResMul to 2.0000 to fix the 3D Clouds in SEUS v10.X. The cloud shadow is buggy, I would turn it off as well. Once you're running, if you need more FPS, you can turn off NormalMap and SpecularMap as well.
You'll want to use SEUS v10.0, v10.1 Preview 1 (the recommended at the moment), or v10.1 Preview 2 (a few small bugs).
If you use SEUS v10.0 you can probably get away with Lite or Standard. The Lite can be buggy though, on newer driver versions it goes all pink and wonky. I don't know if there is a fix for this. SEUS v10.1 Preview are all a 'Standard' variant at the moment, so just test them out. Make sure to read the threads on the SEUS Forums after you pick them up for tweaks and patches ;).
You might try Chocapic's V4 and Sildur's Vibrant as great alternatives to SEUS!
Make sure you use the links in the 1st post of this thread, go to the official threads for the other Shaderpacks, and get the proper latest versions...
I don't get this. I love this mod. I used it before on 1.6. I could use shaderpacks's with shadows and everything. I could even use higher end shaders. But now, with 1.7, it sucks. (not the mod of course) I can't use the shaders I used to. AMD crashes if I use ANYTHING but waving plants shader. I miss all the good old features I used to be able to use. Shadows, reflections etc. WHAT changed so much in 1.7 shaders that now I'm forced to use Regi's shaders? Don't get me wrong, it's great, but all it offers is waving stuff. D: I love regi's work for all the lower-end laptops/desktops, but it wasn't like that in 1.6. There were great shaders I could use back then. I don't get it. karyonix, please explain to me what changed so dramatically in 1.7?
Are you using Optifine + GLSL Shaders in 1.7.4 and 1.7.5?
What catalyst (video driver) are you using on your AMD card?
If you are using 1.7.2 -- use Forge 1040/1047, Optifine 1.7.2 Ultra D1, and GLSL 2.3.12. OF and GLSL go into the mods folder, no mods or patches, it just works now.
As for Shaderpacks, make sure you grab the latest versions of them.
Ah I see. Might be why the game slows down alot when I use the HD textures. I wondered what those numbers were for. Yeah my video card is ancient at this point. Without those HD textures the game runs fine for the most part. Seems like a trade off. Good textures but bad shaders. Or good shaders but regular graphics lol.

Well, you don't have to use a 128x128 or 512x512 shaderpack. I use a 64x64 myself, and it works great :).
Depending on the RAM in your computer, you might be able to bump the allocation from 1GB (the default in the new MC Launcher) to 2GB to help with this as well (only do this if you have 4GB+ of RAM in your computer -- the GLSL Shaders uses its own memory outside of that allocated to Minecraft).
Things should play hugely better when you bring the ShadowResMul and RenderResMul down!
This post is massive, so I apologize if I missed the information. I have also searched google but mostly gotten posts about using a shaderpack.
Normally I am getting about 35-40 fps in Minecraft which isntt amazing but it works ok.
Installing GLSL Shaders Mod v2.2.2 causes severe lag at the title screen without even selecting a shader pack. I have updated to the latest (13.12?) version of the AMD display drivers in hope of rectifying this but to no avail, I have also turned down the settings found in the shaders part of options such as hand depth etc but it does not really help much.
Okay so i ran the 1.7.4 optifine installer BEFORE and then ran the 1.7.4 shaders installer and it says: "Version 1.7.4 => 1.7.4-ShadersMod2.3.13 Add profile 1.7.4-ShadersMod for version 1.7.4-ShadersMod2.3.13
Cannot find versoin 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1
complete
I had that version of optifine installed and i "assume" this did not do what it was supposed to because i don't have a profile that has optifine and shaders in my mc yet, just two separate ones. Plz help.
SEUS use a glGenerateMipmaps which is OpenGL 3 feature. It is called from Java, not from shaders. Without glGenerateMipmaps, bloom effect becomes rectangular.
Sorry I kinda ignored you Graagh1 I read the website i didn't really understand it. And with your previous post were you implying that there was a better chance of me being able to use the SUES shaderpack?
Hey, it's no problem. Information on this post comes pretty fast and furious! It can be a lot to process at times :-)
No, I wasn't implying that there was a better chance, just thinking that it probably wasn't the source of your problems - but see Karyonlx's reply to me above...So does the shaders mod implement the full Opengl 3 feature set, or only selected functions?
This requires Java 7.
Before running this installer, run Minecraft 1.7.4 at least once and close it.
Close Minecraft Launcher before you run this installer.
The installer is executable jar file. Double-click to run.
If your computer doesn't associate .jar with Java, you may have to run java from command line or batch file.
java -jar ShadersMod-v2.3.13mc1.7.4-installer.jar
This version is compatible with OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1.
Run OptiFine installer before ShadersMod installer.
ShadersMod Installer v2.3.15mc1.7.5 (updated 2014-03-29) link
This requires Java 7.
Before running this installer, run Minecraft 1.7.5 at least once and close it.
Close Minecraft Launcher before you run this installer.

This version is compatible with OptiFine_1.7.5_HD_U_D1.
Run OptiFine installer before ShadersMod installer.
When i try to install this, it says it cant find optifine, i installed and ran optifine before doing the shaders installer and it still cant find it.
So I installed everything perfectly, but when I go to run the v.10 of the seus shader, my screen goes black except for a little colored box in the lower left hand corner.
I also get the error codes; Invalid program gbuffers_textured_lit, invalid program composite1, and invalid program final.
I'm running minecraft on a bukkit server.
My computer is a Mac, software is OS X, Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, and i have plenty of open RAM and memory. If someone could let me know if it's my computer that's stopping the shader from working, or just a mess up on my part.

Folder in versions folder should be named 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1, and the rest of the contents should be rename the same.
So it should be:
Folder name: 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1
1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1.jar
1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1.json (with ID:1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1 saved)
When i try to install this, it says it cant find optifine, i installed and ran optifine before doing the shaders installer and it still cant find it.
You have to use OptiFine's installer.
Double-click OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1.jar or OptiFine_1.7.5_HD_U_D1.jar and click install.
If you install it differently or use different editon (eg. OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_D1), ShadersMod installer will not recognize it.

Just accept the fact that SEUS is not compatible with your computer and live on.
SEUS has low compatibility.

So it should be:
Folder name: 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1

Wrong case and you should not have to rename any folder.
OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1 installer will create subfolder 1.7.4-OptiFine_HD_U_D1 inversions folder.
If the folder 1.7.4-OptiFine_HD_U_D1 does not exist, you have not installed OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1 the right way for ShadersMod installer.
That depends which shaderpack you are using..
I am using this mod on this topic (Shaders Mod), Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders and Mr Meeps x3 Shaders. Although Mr Meeps crashes if I select it in game (some GL error). So I never touch Meeps,

Did you run the OF 1.7.5 Ultra D1 Preview installer first, and then the GLSL Shaders 2.3.15?
You should end up with 5 profiles for MC 1.7.5...
You mentioned I can adjust the ambient light to get it darker. Where is that option at?
In SEUS v10.0 you can adjust these values:
So, you'll want to hop down to line 1225/1226 and lower the sunlight/skylight/nolight values to a lower number.
It is a lot of trial & error. Make a change, save it, load the world, test, save and quit, do it all over again...
