Ok, I decided to do a test using your specific settings and no other mods. Yeah, use the recommended Forge for 1.7.10.
The latest forge introduced a bug that crashes ShadersMod.
Is there any other Optifine version that works with shaders other than D5? When I use that one everything on my Minecraft menu is white, I mean all the text and buttons. I can't tell what is what so it is impossible to play, and I need Optifine, but I don't like Minecraft without shaders so I can't really choose either one. I tried B4 and B6, but those both crashed right when I opened MC.
You have 2 options:
Either run D2, turn off Fast Render and Natural Textures in the OF Settings, switch back to D5 (THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN THE 1ST POST AND SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THIS FORUM -- ALMOST EVERY PAGE!)
Stick with D5, go to %appdata%\.minecraft, edit optionsof.txt, manually turn Fast Render & Natural Textures to FALSE.
Is there any known issues with this mod running with a Radeon R9 280?
MC: 1.8-Forge 11.14.3.1450, Optifine HD_U_D1, ShaderMod 2.4.11mc1.8, SEUS 10.1 (have tried various versions)
System: latest Catalyst drivers on 64b Win7, AMD A10-6800K APU on a Gigabyte Sniper MB
I have been experiencing some texture corruption on certain items (such as enchanted armour and tools, pumpkin helmets, various dropped/held items, and player names) when using SEUS shaders ever since upgrading my GPU card
(disregard texture pack in attached pic - it happens no matter what I do xP)
I've found this to be mostly a problem whilst using SEUS, since this hasn't occurred while using other shaders (or you really have to strain to see it at least), however I'm still getting some other issue where there is like a flat white box out on the horizon in every direction, only/mostly noticeable at night (there are also no stars visible, so I'm wondering if it's connected)
I have tried installing CCC 14.9 (which was rather hard to find, since AMD/ATI doesn't seem to host old driver files as far as I can tell), but this made no difference at all (I've been told the drivers should be reverse compatible anyway, but AMD site says that updating can possibly cause issues, so only do so if you have an issue the update addresses). I've also tried using different combinations of Optifine and ShaderMod, but I'm really not finding any solutions...
Had the same issue. It's not driver related issue. It solved itself by installing optifine with integrated shadersmod support. Install optifine f2 and use it's profile. Do not reinstall/install shadersmod after you install optifine f2.
You are talking about MC 1.8.8 (using the Optifine combined with ShadersMod release that sp614x has updated), which is great if people don't mind running non-forge.
If you want to stay on Forge and MC 1.8.0, you will need to wait for sp614x to release a new combined ShadersMod/Optifine with the backported fixes.
In the end, it is a driver-related issue, and not the first one that AMD has introduced with new driver revisions. Only with AMD .... Intel occasionally drops all functionality (crashes) but hardly is there issues like this. Best bet, run AMD 14.9 or 15.7.1 (some have reported 15.7.1 works).
Any chance you could tweak the 1.8 version to override the default Night Vision which breaks when using any water shaders, making Night Vision only raise the display gamma?
As it is now when using water shaders instead of changing the world gamma setting (works fine without water shaders) it raises the gamma on all of the inventory items (including those shown by NEI) as well as removing their tooltip background.
I'm asking here since this BUG affects all shaders which apply water 'reflection', if NV could be overridden to just raise game world gamma (rather than just the inventory) when in use this would be a great help.
Failing that, please have NV override water shaders (poor alternative), thanks.

Hi when using 1448 Forge with SEUS and some modpacks, it seems to have a lot of weird translucentness, especially with my weapons and machines from mods.
Hey, there is a problem with shaders on Forge, and there is another serveral mods i want to use but Shaders don't work, they simply just dont load the chunks when any shaders (except acid shaders) are applied. It's like shaders ran on a database. It use to work. Please fix this!

Yeah, typical issue with AMD cards and enchanted items. Roll back to 14.12 or 14.9.

Everything appears to be running just fine, strangely enough, so now I'm thinking my issue is with some other mod interacting poorly with this one. Yeah, use the recommended Forge for 1.7.10.
The latest forge introduced a bug that crashes ShadersMod.
You have 2 options:
Either run D2, turn off Fast Render and Natural Textures in the OF Settings, switch back to D5 (THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN THE 1ST POST AND SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THIS FORUM -- ALMOST EVERY PAGE!)
Stick with D5, go to %appdata%\.minecraft, edit optionsof.txt, manually turn Fast Render & Natural Textures to FALSE.
Can you post the log in a Spoiler?
What we need to know is your versions of MC, Forge and OptiFine. Then your graphics and driver version number.
Any other mods installed? System specs would be helpful too.

I've found this to be mostly a problem whilst using SEUS, since this hasn't occurred while using other shaders (or you really have to strain to see it at least), however I'm still getting some other issue where there is like a flat white box out on the horizon in every direction, only/mostly noticeable at night (there are also no stars visible, so I'm wondering if it's connected)
I have tried installing CCC 14.9 (which was rather hard to find, since AMD/ATI doesn't seem to host old driver files as far as I can tell), but this made no difference at all (I've been told the drivers should be reverse compatible anyway, but AMD site says that updating can possibly cause issues, so only do so if you have an issue the update addresses). I've also tried using different combinations of Optifine and ShaderMod, but I'm really not finding any solutions...
You are talking about MC 1.8.8 (using the Optifine combined with ShadersMod release that sp614x has updated), which is great if people don't mind running non-forge.
If you want to stay on Forge and MC 1.8.0, you will need to wait for sp614x to release a new combined ShadersMod/Optifine with the backported fixes.
In the end, it is a driver-related issue, and not the first one that AMD has introduced with new driver revisions. Only with AMD .... Intel occasionally drops all functionality (crashes) but hardly is there issues like this. Best bet, run AMD 14.9 or 15.7.1 (some have reported 15.7.1 works).

Any chance you could tweak the 1.8 version to override the default Night Vision which breaks when using any water shaders, making Night Vision only raise the display gamma?
As it is now when using water shaders instead of changing the world gamma setting (works fine without water shaders) it raises the gamma on all of the inventory items (including those shown by NEI) as well as removing their tooltip background.
I'm asking here since this BUG affects all shaders which apply water 'reflection', if NV could be overridden to just raise game world gamma (rather than just the inventory) when in use this would be a great help.
Failing that, please have NV override water shaders (poor alternative), thanks.

Hi when using 1448 Forge with SEUS and some modpacks, it seems to have a lot of weird translucentness, especially with my weapons and machines from mods.
Hey, there is a problem with shaders on Forge, and there is another serveral mods i want to use but Shaders don't work, they simply just dont load the chunks when any shaders (except acid shaders) are applied. It's like shaders ran on a database. It use to work. Please fix this!

Yeah, typical issue with AMD cards and enchanted items. Roll back to 14.12 or 14.9.
