I'm having a problem. Using this mod with any shaderpack causes held items to be transparent. Can anyone help me with this?
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO POST THIS. Except for that I was going to add, is downgrading to 1.8s optifine D2 the real fix for using Shader Mod. If you look up aswell.. you see the outline and the sky inside it
Also grimallq, I know community mannagers out there that do communicating better than you.
Ban me if you want, I'm just expanding on my already made up mind about you
I'm attempting to get this to work with my new computer that's running Windows 10. The problem I'm running into is that it is lagging out the game quite heavily (even without any shaders turned on.) I made sure to read the first page, specifically the section concerning AMD graphics, so I have a vague idea of what needs to be done. My question is simply how would I go about downgrading my drivers in a safe manner? Right now I'm using AMD Catalyst version 15.7.1, and I've been able to find the recommended 14.9 version, but am unsure how to properly go about installing the older version.
How do I install 64-bit Google Chrome? I need that to install x64 Java, right?
I think all you need to install is Offline 64 bit.. the browser part doesn't matter, but install the 32 bit java too if you want to use games or other graphical things in Java

You probably all have AMD graphics. If you're experiencing the hand/handheld graphical glitches you can downgrade to Catalyst 14.9. AMD has instructions. The only advice I might offer is have the replacement driver ready on your desktop because it will probably look like safe mode when you uninstall.
I do indeed have AMD graphics, and I've tried numerous different ways to install the 14.9 version, but to no avail. Even the method on their site was of no help to me. Is there any other mod out there that I could try that allows the use of shaders, or is this the only one?

14.9 is not compatible with windows 10. it's designed for Windows 8 i believe.
Well I tried running the 1.7.10 forge version and this is what I get

Yeah, he's running a 32bit OS though, he can only use 32bit Java. It is a wee bit old:

Operating System: Windows 8.1 (x86) version 6.3
Java Version: 1.8.0_51, Oracle Corporation
Java VM Version: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (mixed mode), Oracle Corporation
The most he can do is to change his JVM Arguments to 1.5GB (if he has 4GB of ram in his system), or reinstall Windows using 64-Bit discs. He'll have to download drivers from the MFG, etc etc etc.
Ahh, yes, I quite remember the stupid System Environment Variable that forced 512MB allocation. I can't remember what program installed that variable, or if it was a specific PC Manufacturer....
Thanks for all your help man, I installed Java 64-bit, it now works perfectly! Thanks again!
Well, I decided to go all-out in my testing to see what would and would not work. After setting up a partition and installing Windows 7, then ensuring that I installed version 14.9 of the AMD Catalyst software, I can verify that this just isn't going to work for me, lol. The game is just far too laggy regardless of what I do for me to play with this mod installed.

You really don't need to downgrade. Just set settings proper and make sure everything else is set up proper. I'm running on windows 10 myself and have gotten 1.8 and 1.7.10 working with no issues with the latest AMD Catalyst. Although I think mine is 15.2. Maybe my AMD Radeon HD 8550 can't use 15.2+. No idea. Search the last ten pages or so for my post saying exactly what I am using to get them to work. Might help you out.
I would if it actually gave a solution to that specific problem, I looked through the first post and I did not find anything on that problem so calm down, the first post doesn't help like you think it does, and yes I read through the ENTIRE THING! so don't say I didn't, plus out of date Optifine is not the issue cause I still get the crash when running the latest 1.7.10 version of Optifine, and obviously 1.8 Optifine isn't an option for obvious reasons
