I've taken it upon myself to update (and ensure the continued update) of an abandoned mod that causes other players' usernames to scale (in blue!) based off of distance above their heads in SMP. The usernames of sneaking players appear bright green and do not scale.
Omg! Thank you! I've been waiting for this mod to update since 1.2.5! You have no idea how bad I've been waiting for this mod to be updated. Thank you so much!
People's names when they are crouching are still really small. Is there any way you can make crouching people's names as big as people's names that are standing?

This is actually considered a multiplayer cheat. The names should be harder to see behind walls or while sneaking and invisible when behind a wall and sneaking.
This is a multiplayer cheat, because it allows you to see players who are trying to hide, which is not fair to say the least.
1. That's kind of repetitive.
2. I don't actually care.
Oh, about player names not disappearing when crouched, now might be an even better time to gripe about that. I just managed to edit the mod so that they scale the same way as normal names, but they're green instead of blue.
If the mod poster knew 2 sh*ts about Java/OpenGL and didn't leach this from Avo Forums the lighting of the name from different render distances could be fixed with 2 lines of code.

Mhm. "I've taken it upon myself to update (and ensure the continued update) of an abandoned mod that causes other players' usernames to scale (in blue!) based off of distance above their heads in SMP." - The opening post.
The "abandoned mod" is indeed from the Avo forums.
I'm simply keeping it updated/fixing a few of the small issues the original one had (such as the crouching names).
I don't see the point, quite frankly, of fixing that, given that installing optifine removes that particular bug.

UPDATE #1 (11/02/12): Crouching Player's names now scale the same way as non-crouching player's. A crouching player's name appear in bright green.
Obligatory pictures (taken on a minecraftsurvivalgames server because I couldn't think of any other server that consistently has 20+ players):

Thanks! You're welcome!
I can probably do that, yeah.
Great! Thanks! You know what I'm talking about, right?
I would also like to see crouched names not so small.

Fascinating.
I still Don't care (I think)
