Really awesome mod. I've been waiting and waiting for Fossils and Archaeology to update to 1.5, and then I found this. When Fossils and Archaeology updates, I think I'll use these together.
Could you implement different dimensions to represent different time periods and/or areas of the world? (So a T-Rex [Cretaceous, North America, Montana] doesn't duke it out with a pack of Coelophysis [Triassic, Africa, Lesotho].)
I'd love to help implement this if I could. For one thing, I don't know Java. For another, school takes up most of my life right now...
Paleo era.... Dinosaurs.... Only like 60 million years difference there... Bad name, sorry.
There is no 'Paleo era'. (Perhaps you were thinking of the Paleozoic?) "Paleo" is in common usage as a prefix to indicate prehistoric things, such as 'paleo-art' and is perfectly appropriate here. Source: have been a paleonerd since the age of 4.
More on topic, these models look pretty nice and I will be interested to see how things go...
Its a nice mod and I'm waiting till you guys add more dinosars and such. A suggestion is to add paleo foliage and a way to dig fossils and in a way make eggs or something like that to make it more realistic so that you don't see a troodon in a Overworld cave. Maybe like other people have probably suggested make a dimension so that instead of digging fossils, you could steal eggs from dino nests. It would also be nice to have a Pteranodon or Ornithocierus to fly around on. If it is an overload dont worry about this, you can always implement it later.
I want to say I really cant wait for some herbivores in wave two, to make the ecosystem of the dimension somewhat work. Can I suggest using mosasaurs instead of the over-rated liopleurodon that was much smaller and much less powerful than it was portrayed in Walking wit Dinosaurs. Sorry for the suggestion, I know your team has its hands full. If you were not planning on aquatic reptiles(not dinosaurs!),
then completely disregard this. On another note, does your dimension reflect that of any specific mesozoic era, or will it be a random ancient looking place? Sorry about my comment if you find it annoying.
Don't worry, getting comments is far from annoying. Anyway, the dimension, because it includes animals from many different time periods, is gonna be a sort of amalgam of different eras. Also, don't worry about mosasaurs in Wave 2; we have you covered...
