I think that I have found a bug. I was trying to make a golden apple, so I put a gold ingot in the the crafting table to make some gold nuggets. Instead of showing golden nuggets, it showed a stack of 9 emerald swords. I had TMI installed so I searched for golden nuggets and I found nothing. You may want to look into it.

Hello Everybody! My friend who usually does the updates is without internet for a while. I can't edit the main post, so I'll just have to put the latest update here.
Version 1.8.1 [For 1.4.5] http://www.mediafire...f75f0479k223wln
Changelog:
-Gems now only spawn in certain biomes (as common as emeralds)
-Amethyst in Jungles
-Sapphire in Taigas
-Ruby in Deserts
-Tweaks to Salted Foods
-No longer can be fed to wolves
-No longer have ludicrous saturation
-Potion effects are less extreme and don't last as long
-Witherite Dust can be eaten for the Wither effect (Useless but kinda fun)
-Salt Ore can now drop anywhere between 3 and 7 salts (without fortune)
-Ender Ore now generates in the End as it should.
-Amber is now twice as rare (now 1 in 400 leaves as opposed to 1 in 200)
-Fixed a glitch where Amethyst would drop 6 gems without fortune
-Fixed some Item ID conflicts (Including Emerald Swords having the same ID as Gold Nuggets)
In Other news, I'm still at a total loss as to how to create potions, if anyone knows how to do this, please tell me. I've been considering adding more furnace types. Which may or may not be easy to code in. I was thinking of having different levels of furnaces ranging from ones made out of iron to ones made from Ender Ore. Higher levels would cook stuff faster, and possibly also make fuels last longer. I don't think ModLoader and SMP get along very well, so the SMP version of our mod might take a while.

Yeah, try downloading version 1.8.1. It runs fine.
how exactly do you craft an emerald sword? I tried using the normal sword crafting recipe (2 emeralds on top of a stick on the crafting table) and I got a witherite sword (guess I found a little bug). I hope this problem is fixed since this is a very cool mod.

Ah. Yeah, I guess that is a bug. Thanks for reporting it. We'll fix it ASAP. Try the other gem swords, too, though!
I Just realized that amber drops from leaves, not wood logs. I spent 20 minutes punching trees and chopping it down with all sorts of axes and I got nothing. So I just thought that they were very rare. Whoops! Well, now I know.

For the record, I am not a developer of this mod, but that sounds like an item i.d. confliction. I found one too. This one may have happened when the bug I found was being fixed
Looking though recent posts, It's obvious we have some Item ID conflicts. Please let me know all of the the problems you find. At the moment, I accidentally everything when I tried making the mod SMP compatible, so I can't work on the source code for a while, but I'll work on fixing these as soon as I can.
In response to Zentracker, I'll see if I can't make amber drop from logs instead of leaves (it does make more sense that way after all).

Yes, it is an item ID conflict. Not uncommon, when you have so many item ID's to deal with.

Hello everyone, just letting you all know that version 1.8.2 has been released, making fixes and texture changes. The mod is now bug free, so check out the new version, and have more fun!
Also, what do you think of the idea of sugared foods?
Now THAT is a weird bug. I'll look into it

Actually wheat only attracts certain animals, the bell would attract all of them.
