Does it matter what part(s) of CE you have enabled (if you can disable parts of it)? Reading it's feature log (from the thread which is linked in your signature) the only possible part which might interact with the chat at all is "12. Useful GUI". I don't know whether you can disable that or not, but if you can than disable it and see if a crash occurs after that.

I still have testing to do with my version so I'll do that when I can.

I am thinking that there would likely be a fairly decent difference if it was loaded through some other way. Currently there is only one other way, which would be adding three lines to the "<Profile-name>.json" file and adding TC to a folder in libraries. Thinking you should be able to do this fairly easily. If it crashes still even after installing it like this, than I'd assume it to be an compatibility as no current install methods for the mod would than be working if the other mod was also used.
