Well,I haven't been on my server till last night and when I tried it with /l /g /dc /kc it didn't work, but /msg <player> worked perfectly fine o.o And I have the version from the download from the front page... o.o
Interesting... I've been using commands like /l, /g, /tc, and /nc with no issues on the server I play on. I'll take a closer look at the code when I get a chance and see if I can find anything funny. Just so I understand this right, the syntax of these commands you've mentioned is for specifying chat channels, like "/g <long chat message>" and such, correct?
this isn't makeing groups with server that have chat like: <tyson98>
Oooooh, yeah that's a tricky one. I could 'work' in a useless fashion if you set Angles as your delimiter, but then you'll just get a new tab for every person, and you'd probably also have to increase the "Max Length of channel name search" also... but again, this would likely be useless to you. Is the server you mentioned public? Would you consider PM'ing me the IP so I could see some of this chat myself?
I could potentially add some configuration for either handling double/nested delimiters, or alternatively give the user the option to specify some characters to be stripped prior to searching for channels. The second option might be a bit more generally useful, although also a tad more complicated to the end user.
Anyone else have any information on how commonplace this type of formatting is? Any other popular servers using chat channels that use formatting which prevents TabbyChat from doing its job? Any idea what plugin the server uses for this? That may help me decide the best route to take for this implementation.
Edit: If you were looking for a "Member" tab, you could consider defining this manually using custom filters - for example, make a new filter called "Member", set "Filter to new tab" to On, and use an expression like
^<\[Member\][A-Za-z0-9_]{1,16}>
Where the "Member" part obviously matches members, and the "[A-Za-z0-9]{1,16}" matches valid minecraft usernames.

Hey, that error with pressing # and crashing is really getting irritating, because I'll be logging into a server and it'll crash. Have you managed to find a fix yet?
Also, how have you been?
BAI1
Doing alright, thanks. Real-life is still pretty hectic.
I did look into this a bit this morning, but unfortunately completely failed at reproducing the issue. I believe you had mentioned you encountered the crash when typing something (in the chat input?), hitting enter, and then hitting "#" in quick succession... How are you hitting "#", are you using Shift+3? What is the "#" keypress for?
Sounds pretty cool.
Could you add a "proxy chat" option for a channel? Players can only hear each other within a certain configurable distance.
Honestly, I'm not sure that can be done client-side, or at least it would be pretty resource-intensive. IMO, this functionality really needs to be implemented server-side, and there should be some Bukkit plugins that do this already. I'm pretty sure ChannelChat allows you to configure a 'hearing' distance for particular channels.
My Enter button and "#" are next to each other, so I'll press enter and accidentally press "#" at the same time, resulting in the crash. I tested with pressing other random buttons at the same time and quickly after, but it only happened with that. No debug menu was open either.
Very rarely, it crashes on server login without pressing that button as well, giving the same error.
Nice to see your doing well Settling into your new house nicely?
BAI1
I think I've had some recent success reproducing this issue, it's definitely not key-specific but just involves mashing any particular buttons right after you send a message. I still have to dive into it a bit deeper though.
I get this error when trying to change to channel format as well.

Could it be possible to re-release version 1.3.2 for MC 1.4.6? That or make the multi-line feature optional? The multi-line feature interferes with the macro/keybind mod in the chat menu. I've really had no reason to type multiple messages at once and I use the macro mod for commands to moderate the server I play on while monitoring chat. Other than this minor issue, the mod is fantastic and I can't wait to see what else you have in store for it
How are configs stored? I'm a bit confused I think naming them like servername.com is a bad idea with windows. I also have had a hell of a time trying to share my config files with others.
Quick question for you two... when you have these issues (presumably with /fly, or possibly other chat occurrences), do you have a filter setup to highlight your username? If so, could you tell me what formatting you have setup for that highlighting? I'm wondering specifically if you have either the color OR the 'format' (e.g. bold, italics) set to default/none.

Does this mod work clientside only? I installed it and can't seem to connect to any vanilla nor any bukkit servers.Nevermind, I fixed it.
That's a little bizarre, I use /fly all the time and haven't had any issues. Could you post some sort of crash report or traceback?
I can't wait for it to update!
Could you add a "proxy chat" option for a channel? Players can only hear each other within a certain configurable distance.
