Love the mod and would appritiate some help, I would like to use everything but the preview window like so:
with the potion effects on top the name plate. How would I do that with the skin.cfg?
Currently there is no specific feature for this. The skin config is confusing enough as is, but i might add even more features in the future.
I believe the potion effects are on top anyways. Try this: set the background to 0 width and 0 height, then move the potion effects x offset and y offset to that of the nameplate.

Edit: I tested, and indeed this works except the nameplate in on top. This is unintentional and I will make sure the potion effects are on top in the next release. However, setting the background width and height to 0 does indeed remove the mob preview.
Hello! i really like your mod but i am having a problem using this mod on my bukkit server. when i look at a mob the screen still pops up but when i hit the mob, the small number does not pop up, and the health bar does not change when the mob is damaged either. i think i might have installed the plugin incorrectly, any help would be awsome!
When I download this it gives me the 1.5.0 version even though i click "1.5.1". >_> Plus when i run forge on my minecraft it doesn't create a mods folder, PLUS it shows that there is no mods on the magic launcher in the 1.5.0 download .zip! HELP!

It's actually 1.5.1, Ill release an update soon to fix this. Magic launcher lies, youll learn it doesn't detect forge mods very well.
DamageIndicators[1.5.1]v2.5.4 released.
Mob drawing on top of the frame fixed.
Optifine related anomalies fixed.(Those that can be fixed. The particle on water problem is universal to all particle effects)
Custom Skinning improved.
The Skin Config is now more organized.
You can now set the order in which skin parts are rendered, those with lower numbers render first. This is to give skinners more control over the layering.
Yeah I use the latest Optfine, I really want to use the mod but I kind of need Optfine to be able to play smoothly :/ I use Multi-MC and I have tried putting it directly into the mods folder but no luck
Optifine is not finished :/ If i could recreate the problem i could fix it, but alas, I cannot. Unfortunately, you will need to run without optifine until it is closer to being a finished product, or cross your fingers that the issue can be reproduced.
Edit: Just to be sure, you are adding Damage Indicators to the Mods folder tab, and not the Minecraft.jar tab right?

Update:
Recreated the problem. The issue is multiMC. The issue is only recreatable with optifine + damage indicators + multimc. I will look into the cause of this, but you can fix the issue temporarily not using multimc.

Thanks for the help but it does not seem to work for me, I am use a 1.4.7 version, I would be happy with the same gui layout and no preview mob as I like to keep it above my armor bar and I don't need to see a little version of a mob on top of what I am looking at.
EDIT: I was able to achieve the result I wanted by setting ScaleFactor=0.0 for every mob and moving the mob type to:
I:MobTypeOffsetX=26
I:MobTypeOffsetY=-3

The newest version for 1.5.1 is fully capable of achieving what you desire. Just keep that in mind when you do decide to update to the current version of minecraft.

I added a link to the 1.4.7 version.
Optifine i guess? I cannot reproduce this problem, with or without optifine. Remove optifine and see if the problem persists.
Also others fixed the problem installing the mod directly into the mods folder, and not using magic launcher, if you are using magic launcher.
