At the moment, is there any way of using the medpod on mobs, or is it player-exclusive?
It works on mobs currently, you just have to shove em into it.

I have a bug report for the latest version of the mod. Whenever the Xenos evolve, they stay at 30 health. (Ex: The Praetorian is supposed to have 100 hp, but it stays at 30.)
Not sure why you would use it on Mobs. I usually just use mobs as Xenomorph breeding stock.
I use it with them just to show it works. Like if your fave pet wolf gets impregnated and you want to save it, shove it in.

I think in my opinion, prometheus and covenant messed up the alien franchise just as much as resurrection. Especially the fact that the average movie viewer would be lead to believe that David created the Xenomorphs, which i think is a horrible concept. And both of them tried to have a good female lead character, but I doubt they could ever be comparable to Ripley. Shaw was alright, but she ended up getting butchered in covenant. I mean, she could have had a much better and longer story, and Daniels.. Daniels was too weak in the film, I mean, she gets almost killed by david had walter not saved her, whilst Ripley in the original was able to atleast struggle against Ash. And then there is the fact about Covenant having tons of cut content, which would have been great!
Also, regarding the Queen, I think it should be in the next movie, its role in Aliens was terrifying. It acts as the mother to these beasts, and it does look slightly more slender and more feminine when compared to the drone or warrior, and it is massive.
That comic was one of the best, (except that it had "tame" xenos) It was completely messed up, and completely revolting. Which is perfect for Alien.
Also most general viewers won't care too much about the lore behind the series. They will just want to see a cool movie and not get too in-depth in the lore, so to them knowing the real creation of the xenomorphs doesn't matter.
I honestly like how Daniels was in covenant. She felt like a real person forced into this terrifying situation, not some generic "natural born badass" like the later Ripleys. Only the the Alien Ripley, the original, felt like a real person. As for David overpowering her, Daniels was just a colonist, not a trained fighter, which presumably Ripley is due to her being a warrant officer, meaning she probably had some previous military experience.
Also the queen is hardly feminine. If anything, it looks more masculine than the normal adults, with its huge upper body, tiny stomach/hips area, etc. Also it doesn't really looks like a member of the same species, more like a designed inspired by the original, like how parodies do it. The original is more feminine since it was deliberately designed as being both male and female, mixing the anatomy of both genders to blur the lines and evoke uncertainty, whereas the queen looks more like a general monster they tried to make look feminine by giving it high heels. These creatures do not need any form of superior, being able to function perfectly on their own. What makes them threatening is how deadly just one can be. Also giving them a "mother" humanized them too much and makes them less this cold, otherworldly nightmare they were originally envisioned to be. Not to mention queens don't even fit in this quasi-rebooted series.
Xenomorphs are the perfect anti-life force, with only one desire-rend the life from a planet like a lovecraftian nuke. Not to be glorified termites.
I know this will be controversial, but I would be perfectly fine if the entire queen and hive concept was retconned. Its no longer unique and its pretty common nowadays. Hell, even the new Independence Day movie had a hive dynamic! Its just no longer fresh or interesting. Not to mention Cameron himself who designed the queen no longer cares about the series, since he really only wants to focus on a series that is totally his, Avatar. So he probably won't care too much if the queen/hive is removed.
Also, why don't you join the AvP Discord? Its a better medium to discuss this than on the forums.

I understand that Giger's movie concepts and what came of them are nice, but really, limiting yourself to one universal series and considering just about everything else so non canon that it can't even exist in a multiverse is taking this a step too far. I'm starting to think Ridley Scott is slowly sliding down a slippery slope that leads to a FlowerChild-esque "manchild complex" where he thinks his views are superior and everyone should just bow down to him as if he's the supreme overlord of the universe. It's an inevitable thing for every human, we can only delay this. Judge me all you want, but it's true.

I would greatly mind if the Hive and Queen was retconned. It causes far too many issues with the canon continuity of the series than would be worth it.
Basically, only Prometheus, Alien Covenant and Alien would be canon, and I don't know about you, but that would **** off a lot of people.
Anyway, it's a moot issue since I doubt Fox is going to ruin the semi-coherent story they have constructed with the films since they decide what is Canon.
If they retcon the Hive and the Queen, then regardless of what fox thinks, it will be non canon to the fans. The Queen and the Hive has been in alot of media related to Alien. Aliens was a massive success in the box office, much more so than prometheus and alien covenant, because it showed that the Alien franchise was flexible in the terms that it could be a high action packed film, and a horror sci-fi film. The alien franchise needs to be that flexible, and having new ideas for the way that the Xenomorph could be used was great. Its kind of why Alien3 failed, it was pratically Alien but with criminals and the Alien came from a dog/ox. The Queen was hyped up for Aliens, and it was a great addition to the lore of the Alien franchise, as it finished the reproductive cycle of the Xenomorph. (Yes eggmorphing exists but that exists in deleted scenes and books, both of which are non canon. Yeah, the idea of eggmorphing is still a good idea)
Also, I doubt Ridley Scott would get rid of the Queen, maybe it won't be included in his sequels, but as Ender_Dwarf said, it would anger a lot more fans than please the few who want it removed.
I dont mind if he doesnt include it, that would be alright, just dont remove it.
That is very true, Ridley Scott is slowly beginning to ruin his own movies. Also, i do think we as fans are giving Ridley a bit too much credit for Alien, so we shouldnt really follow all of his films. It was Giger and Dan O'Bannon who were the main creators of the Alien. Dan O'Bannon designed the life cycle of the Alien, while Giger helped design the original concepts of the Alien.
I would rather prefer Blomkamp's film, rather than another prequel sequel. He seemed to have some new ideas, and was probably going to introduce eggmorphing, aswell as some other interesting concepts.
However, lets let covenant go for a while, since The Predator is coming out soon, what are your guys thoughts on the alleged hybrid predator? Or that Predators could end up working with Humans?
Personally, I'm not against the idea of a Predator working with humans. A "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of deal. In this case, this alleged hybrid predator would be the enemy of both humanity and the Predators.
This could be the first real example of Yaujta Honor in the films, since a majority of it comes from the expanded universe.
I am more worried how it has been implied that the AvP films are canon to the Predator franchise. Has this been cleared up at all?

Shane Black (the guy who's directing the upcoming The Predator) mentioned he's not a fan of AvP, at least the 2 films that came out. Not 100% sure on this but I think he mentioned he doesn't really want to do any official Predator crossovers, with Alien or otherwise.
Also the directors for both AvPs never intended for the films to be canon to either series, they were more like a "what if" scenario.
I think crossovers just end up killing any franchise, if they are movies. In games they usually end up being executed well, like AvP 2010, Robocop vs Terminator, ETC. I guess its because video games need a lot more work in order for them to be playable.
Also, I don't really like the idea of a "hybrid" predator. I would prefer just normal bad bloods. Maybe a series of films set in the future that lead up to a predator civil war? And maybe Fox could introduce some new creatures, like the river ghost and the hell hound from predators.
Apparently the predator's ship is called the "Ark" or something, and contains a ton of exotic alien animals, whether that's for food, hunting, companionship, I don't know
As for "hybrid" predators, I was assuming 2 different things- either a "cross breed" of a normal pred and a bad blood who's treated as an outcast due to that or some sort of predator that's genetically enhanced itself to be stronger. I'm personally hoping for the latter, since it adds a new dynamic to the predator species and what kind of things go on in their society.

I'd like to see either. Both add a "new dynamic" and would be nice to see what goes on in Yautja society, especially getting to see a canon homeworld. I knew they had to be native to a specific planet, and we've never seen what it could be.

Did you cantch my message on console mods and when they hit can you port it?
We will not port this mod to anything other than the core Java version. Console will not be able to use mods, at least, not the kind we're used to. Console "mods" will be limited to command block and resource pack trickery, nothing that introduces all-new coding like this mods does. Also you still didn't give a source other than a livestream that is not related to Mojang. If this is true, post a link to the devs saying so.
Also once again, this mod is written in Java, whereas the consoles use C#. That's like trying to play a VHS in a DVD player, it just won't work. This is not like porting a Java mod in one version to a new Java version. It would be literally impossible to port a Java mod into the C# consoles, it would be more like re-writing the mod from scratch, which we won't do. Not to mention how limited the consoles are compared to Java.
I don't remember hearing about this, but will the Trilobite gain the ability to impregnate mobs with a Deacon, similar to a Facehugger?
Yep. Also trilobites will be "breedable", as in if you breed an animal infected by goo before it turns, it will produce a baby trilobite instead of the normal offspring.
On top of that, both the deacon and adult trilobite got a makeover, and a model/texture for the baby has been made
And yes, before you ask I do plan on making an adult deacon, inspired by the concept art seen in Fire and Stone
