1.: If the tail blade is implemented as a xeno weapon, maybe you could make it necessary to charge it like a bow; it can only be used when charged, but is very powerful(in the movies the xenos also make kind of one-hits with it)
2.: You could make the plasma caster and the flamethrower shoot projectiles instead of particles, that way they also work by hitting the mob, not just by hitting the ground below, you could also make the plasma caster still explode on ground, but maybe with a smaller radius because otherwise you would destroy for example a temple map just because you didn't hit the mob...
Hello, love the mod! We have it included in our ZigZag Modpack for 1.7.10.
One thing the users are universally complaining about is the loudness of the guns and the alien sounds, is it possible to decrease their sound on the next update?
I thought about opening the jar file and seeing if I could find the samples and editing them to be less loud, perhaps that would work?

I see absolutely no problem with the sound volumes, this is coming from a person who uses surround sound. The sounds are no louder than other vanilla sounds. It's possible to decrease them via the way you specified, but it would be easier if I made it configurable.
Also... why does the launcher download an entire minecraft installation? Most it should need is the mods folder and maybe the config folder. The way it is, is pretty in-efficient. Pull the other resources from the existing .minecraft folder, and then if they aren't there, download them.

Dude, the guns are not loud, they make no sound whatsoever.
I just re-checked to make sure and I found that the sounds work in both creative and survival.
Except for the smartgun, i heard none of them in survival either, also there is a bug with the plasma caster, you cannot hear its sound when you have the energy capsule in the inventory(so you can only hear it in creative)(i tested it in 1.7.10)

I'll keep testing for these problems since people keep mentioning them, but I honestly do not have any of these problems on my system.
Already suggestted stuff/stuff i want to suggest: (little fun fact: some of this stuff already was implemented in early versions; check the website to prove it) (mod->changelogs)
Scientific stuff:
Electricity,
Computers,
Synthetics,
Predator helmet visions,
Predator armor invisibility,
Facehugger/Chestburster "jars",
Xenomorph holding unit,
vehicles,
cryochambers(act like beds, but let you sleepfor as long as you don't press "wake up"),
spaceships(for LV-223 and maybe other planets),
brandmarking device(to mark captured Xenos(specimen 6),work like name tags, but craftable), brain control device for Xenos,
Medpod(only for men :P),
motion trackers
Extraterrestrial stuff:
space ships on Lv-223/Overworld(and other structures),
more Xenomorph species,
more predator species,
alien acid blood destroys blocks,
ability to play Xenomorph/Predator (and Marine),
mobs for LV-223,
Predators attack if weapon(of any kind) is being held,
predator and alien armor effects(swiftness , strength...),
Xenomorph weapons(inner jaws, tail blade...)
other stuff:
TDM gamemode,
ripley etc,
statues and other decorative blocks(e.g. sacrificial tables)
GUI for Xeno "birth controlling"(what xeno spawns from what animal?)
Steve/Civilian,
flashlight for guns,
minecraft aliens(nether-/ender-xenomorph)
I just want to re-show this, so that everyone with an idea can look, if it has already been suggested
^ I really don't think Ripley and the others (Bishop, Newt, etc) would be fitting at all. There is only one of them, and it would make no sense if you were wandering around and you encountered a pack of 3 Ripleys (yes I know cloning, bit it still doesn't seem right)! Also, there shouldn't be "Minecraft Xenos" that live in the Nether/The End. If they were added, we would be adding "fan-made" Xenos to the mod, which is something Ri5ux (and myself, who models some to-be-added xenos) does not want. It just wouldn't be fitting. Why would there be Xenos in Hell and whatever The End is? Teleporting and fireproof Xenos just...doesn't seem right...
However, to add to the list, we should have:
-Red Xenomorphs Drones, Warriors, and Queens. They would be rarer and stronger, and attack the "normal" black xenos as well as anything else, similar to black and red ants. They have their own Hive Resin/Nodes, which is just the current textures tinted red. I think Ri5ux mentioned Red Xenos a while back, but I'm not sure about it.
-Facehugger and Chestburster jars. Lets you capture a Facehugger/Chestburster, for easy transport, to start new hives, or just for cool decoration. I went more into detail in this in an earlier post. I may make a model for a Facehugger Jar later. I know this is on the list, but I just went more in-depth on it.
-XenoZip and Royal Jelly. Also in a previous post. XenoZip gives you a massive buff, but has some unpleasant side effects, and is made from Royal Jelly. Royal Jelly is produced by Queens in a way similar to how Chickens lay eggs (Queens also drop some when killed), and can sometimes be dropped by mining Hive Resin. Royal Jelly can make any Xeno evolve into its next evolution (if they "consume" it by walking over it, and it draws them near like how pigs are attracted to Carrots, but also acts like bones to a Wolf, or fish to an Ocelot, meaning it will often take more than one Royal Jelly to evolve it.), but has to be administered by a player to a Praetorian to make a Queen, just for balance's sake.
-A way to remove a Chestburster embryo from players and mobs. Some sort of "Operating Table" that can safely remove a Chestburster without hurting the creature itself or its host. If you "sleep" (your spawn point does not change, though) on it, the Chestburster is removed, and you can push mobs onto it to remove the Chestburster from them. You can somehow "feed" the Facehugger Jars to it, and it will place the removed Chestburster in it. If there is no jar, the Chestburster is simply killed. Also more on this in a previous post.
-Better Facehugger Infection. I think this is planned, and ties into the "Xeno Birth Control GUI thing," as well as the "Operating table." Instead of killing you (or a Marine/Predator) to spawn a Chestburster, the Facehugger jumps on you or another suitable host, and you have a small time frame to remove it before it puts a Chestburster in you/the host. If its not removed in time, your screen will fade to black, like when you go to sleep. When you "wake up," you get a message in chat that says, "You have been implanted with a Chestburster. Remove it or else." or something along those lines. After a while, the Chestburster will emerge from its host, killing it in the process, as long as the host is not killed before that.
Also, it would be nice if you made a more in-depth list of suggestions, possibly as a Google Doc or something. So not just the feature's name, but a description of it as well. Lastly, sorry if any of this stuff has already be mentioned by someone else.

No, they are not loud, you're correct, but where you're wrong is that they do make sounds. I recommend you fix your Minecraft installation.

I did it as well, still nothing. This was not happening in 1.6 though.
Well, your statement is irrelevant until you test it on the latest release.

I wonder does it have something to do with Forge version?
It might, Use the recommended version.

Also, how the heck do you change views while wearing the predator mask?
Hive nodes help to spread the resin that make up hives.
This has nothing to do with the mod but I was wondering, are you going to get alien:isolation when it comes out?
You can't change the views yet, also, he is changing the hive system so it doesn't matter
But these things will probably be implemented in the next version
