I would say that a queen wouldnt be unlikely. As seen in this offical artwork for Alien Covenant, and used literally everywhere for it, there is something very reminiscent of a queens crest. And I think if a Queen was to appear in the Prequels, I think ridley could execute it rather well.
I don't see a queen in that mess, the shape in the upper-middle ish area which I'm guessing you're referring to looks more like the one mural from Prometheus. Though you can notice what looks like the arms and legs of Big Chap almost emerging from the walls, not one of the fleshier protomorphs, but the OG alien, ribbing, bolts and all, which is a more interesting addition and may actually hold some water, but its probably just there because well, look at it, its super striking and awesome.
Though more than likely its just there to keep up with the classical gods/heaven/hell look. So it less about foretelling the future of the series, more just to create a really cool and striking image based off this, which is called "Gates of Hell"
To change the topic, since I'm done of queen arguing, why not a spoiler to increase the hype?
The first and third pics are old, the 3 Alien-themed suits (other than the white one) will use the darker metal in the middle pic. Also the far-left "Space Oddity" suit will probably only be rare dungeon loot, so if you want it, get huntin'!
And before you ask, yes I plan on eventually making a model for all the armours in the mod (the marine armour is currently being textured), as well as some all-new armours too, such as the Alien 3 "Dog Catcher" suit, though it will probably be called "Enviro Suit." This Enviro Suit will probably be the one to give you immunity to all huggers, possible including trilobites as well, but spores will still be able to infect you.
Enviro Suit sounds cool. Will any of the vehicles from Aliens/Prometheus/Covenant be added? Like the Drop Ship, and the Dune Buggy thing from Prometheus, ETC.

As for the buggy thing, tbh it has never really crossed my mind. Maybe once I finish this wave of new models/textures, I'll take it into consideration

We have no ETAs for anything, but the port to 1.10.2 should be out soon. Its a smaller update as it only contains 1 new feature-new Lv-426 spikes+a new block they're made from, and a totally re-worked shaped blocks system.
After that's out, work can begin on the Covenant update. However I can say the Covenant will also be merged with an Isolation-themed update as well, so it may take longer, but we will get more content in the end. We haven't even started on coding the Isolated Coven updated(though I have made nearly all the assets I plan to finish off for this update), but I'm guessing by Halloween.

I'm basing it off of the different tech that they hunt with, eg. plasma caster, combi stick, smart disc. This idea comes from the old rts avp game (Alien vs Predator: Extinction).
Essentially there would be a few types of base predator that fight with different weapons. A brawler = melee blades, Hunter = plasma caster, spear master = combi stick, disk thrower = smart disc or shuriken. And finally have a boss type named Clan Leader that has two attacks; a close range and a distance, such as blades and plasma caster or some other ranged attack (maybe a net that locks the player in place for a few seconds).
I know the aliens are cool but the predators deserve some love too. The ones we have are great, just lack the variety of the aliens.

More preds are planned for sure. However, AvP: Extinction is not canon so nothing from it will be added. Instead we have some TBA canon types such as the tracker and falconer, among others, that are waiting to be added.
Also I think the humans themselves are pretty left out. They have the marine mob, which itself spawns rarely, and the combat synth, which doesn't spawn at all. In addition, other than the guns, they don't have many specific items, not counting the machines, since half of them can't be created yet.

They're not being removed. Them turning into pigs is a known bug with the beta. Will be fixed soon

So, I've noticed a couple of bugs in version 5.0.0.29. Firstly, all of the weapons from the mod (with the exception of the plasma caster) appear to be silent. Spears and smart discs don't make a noise when thrown or when they hit something (can't remember if they ever did come to think of it, but I swear they used to) and the guns are completely silent when fired in either creative or survival. I also noticed that there appears to be a compatibility issue with Optifine, which makes the reflective blocks "prismatic", for lack of a better term, and unable to be textured with blocks. Since Optifine is such a widely used mod and helps with performance, I feel that it would be worth looking into a solution. Cheers!
