Technically, there are no genders in Minecraft, though its possible all animals are actually more akin to hermaphrodites as any 2 adult animals can breed, and some animals even have traits of both genders (i.e. chickens with a waddle like a rooster but lay eggs). As for the player, not sure, but its possible the above is also true, with the difference in player models being vestigial remains of the past.
Headcanons aside, I can tell you we have something similar yet different to predalien direct-impregnation planned. Head on over to the discord for more info.

No, there will be no APIs. By reboot I mean things like adding new machines, fleshing out current features (dimensions especially), and re-doing parts of the mod, either model/texture wise or coding wise, some things may get removed, others will be added. Also it will have much more community involvement, i.e. things like building contests and such, and more.
We are currently working on scouting for new coders, and working on creating new advertisement such as posters, banners, etc. I am planning a few new events that will very much involve the community. This is your big chance to help the mod out, so everything will be much appreciated.

No, since I know exactly how all addons will be, it will be all for noncanon things. Once I can get things together, people will be able to submit pull requests and I may accept them, especially for things like bug fixes or certain types of cross-mod support.
And the base mod itself needs to be polished and fleshed out before "official" cross-mod compat is a possibility. One of the first things I would like to do would be to make the planets more immersive, i.e. vents and geysers belching up smoke for Lv-426, and modeled stalagmites for Varda, as well as work on the Varda forests, etc. And of course Paradise is a must.

Yeah, and the ability to drop ampules as goo bombs. I gotta be able to carpet bomb villagers with goo ampules. Maybe make them affected by gravity, and break if dropped from a sufficient height?

Though as of now (build .37), the creative inventory is messed up, though NEI can still access the mod's things, so please use it until the next build is out.

No, a 1.12.2 port is planned for very soon. No need to intervene unless wish to help us coding AvP or our other mods (especially our other mods). Though if so, you need to prove yourself to us.
This is exactly correct. We plan on adding a handful of things to 1.10.2 as a final coup-de-grace for that version (rest of the new deacon line, a new belugamorph model, vents, and an Isolation-inspired shotgun, more info and spoilers are on AvP's Discord), then porting to 1.12.2, and having that version be the major version for a while. And shortly after we port, the Covenant things will happen, as well as plenty of other things too. We may also make a new forum thread since the mod is undergoing a "soft reboot", which is the reason for the silence. However we're far from dead, so no need to worry.

The main reason is personal things came up, but they're pretty much over now, and also since the mod itself will receive a "soft reboot", both to prepare for 1.12.2 and beyond, as well as changes with the mod, such as many models getting overhauled and some things being fleshed out more.
Regarding Covenant and 1.12.2, we've decided we're almost done with 1.10.2, and will only add a handful of new content, pretty much just an actual deacon life cycle, a new model for the belugamorph, a new gun or two, and some vents, both for that steamy Alien aesthetic as well as for crawling in. After that, we plan to port to 1.12.2, and then add the Covenant content shortly after that, then 1.12.2 will also become the main version for a while, meaning it will get any and all new content, and 1.10.2 will no longer be developed.
As for the most recent updates to the mod as well as spoilers and if you want to help us further develop and plan for AvP and our other mods, its best to hop on over to AvP's Discord, which should have a link in the OP or you could PM me for. We've all but moved over there anyways.
