This thread has been really inactive lately....So I'll point out this tidbit:
Remember back when Xolova said he was going to add "Realmstone changes", in order to "move Labricon earlier into the mod".
So the 2.5 snapshot comes out and we check for Realmstone changes. The realmstones that were changed were:
*Gardencia Realmstone changed to Crop Monster
*Vox Ponds Realmstone changed to Darkling
If you haven't noticed, neither of those affect Labricon's position in the mod. We originally thought the L'Borean realmstone also got changed (no longer dropped by Carrotops), which would affect Labricon's position in the mod (kinda, not really). However, the L'Borean realmstone change is actually present in 2.4.B...so it doesn't apply (does it?)...
Also, another curious note, I recall Xolova mentioning a while back that he was going to change the Crystevia realmstone to a new underground Overworld mob. The 2.5 snapshot came, and no such mob exists. Case Construct drops Crystevia realmstone as normal. I tried searching through Xolova's post but no luck finding the post where he mentioned it, or what it was called...
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
I just thought a mob idea. Here it is:
You know there's a Rainicorn and a Runicorn? Well, this mob idea is the Toxicorn. It is a mob from the Vox Ponds. It has 95 health. Does 6 damage and inflicts Poison 1 on hit! I know it's short. But what do you think?
My hope is fading, just wanted to say this before I say F- to it, and leave here.
My writing may not be the best, but I tried to be as professional as I could.
Please, don't reply/quote this post, I'd rather not answer questions.
Thinking about it, I honestly finally see a chance that this mod might not update, what, with the Twitch account requirement?
I don't think XolovA will really want to create an account just to update this mod. And, as for donating, it never quite guaranteed that he would've returned anyway.
Have we been finally screwed by an other companies actions? I'm sure a few mod developers have definitely given up on MCF/Curse.
Bit of a shame, but what can you do? MCF already feels dead now after they enforced the account change, just because some people overreacted a little bit.
I might stop visiting this thread, honestly, this account I have here basically only existed for this mod, so I could talk to you guys, but since a load of the viewers to this thread have left, there's not been much activity, and therefore, no reason to stick around here.
TL;DR: Twitch might have screwed modding and mapping a bit. This thread is becoming empty and I have no reason to stay here for much longer due to this.
It's been a great time here, but it's almost all gone now, next month I think I'll be leaving this thread, I'll simply just say "Bye". Not sure for how long, but probably a long time. (Unless something happens, If something does update, tell me about it?)
I might still be seen on other threads I might find, though.
Well I am about to give up to. No news on twitter I tried to stalk him on his last mc server but, he hasn't been on in 2 years, I heard a rumor he was working with the aether team but, nobody heard of him there. I tweeted to him again but, I think it's hopeless
God, it's hard to see this go. But it's time to give up. There's no way this is going to keep going. It's been over a year sense the mod has been updated. I've been a fan of this sense "Eternal Isles." I've had a lot of great memories from this mod. It may be one of the best in existence. Well, that's done. Goodbye you all. Goodbye AoA. If anything gets updated, let me know. I'm on almost every day.:( Thanks for the great memories Xolva.
Well, this is an interesting turn of events. It was as if just last week this thread was blooming with activity. And now its dead quiet....
There is that off-chance that Xolova could possibly return. Take the Twilight Forest mod for example. It hadn't received an update in years, and everyone thought it was dead for sure. But surprisingly, in the last few months TF got updated. Nobody though that it ever would - not after all these years. But it did. AoA could turn out the same way.
Of course, however there is also always that off-chance that nothing happens. Take Animusic 3 for example (even though its not related Minecraft, it fits what I'm describing pretty well). The developer of Animusic 3 said, after Animusic 2 was released (in 2005) that Animusic 3 would come. Its 2017 now. The developer over the past 12 years has said "I will try to make it come". Still hasn't came.
I think I will stick around, at least for now. However, I'll have you know that I'm not sticking around because I'm waiting for an update. As far as I know, just because a mod does not update, doesn't mean that people won't play it. Even though mods like OreSpawn and Twilight Forest have not received updates for extended periods of time, people still played them. And I imagine that people will keep playing AoA, regardless of whether it gets updated or not. And you know what? There's probably some people out there who never update their mods, even if their chat gets spammed with update requests every time they login to the game, they choose to ignore it. They're playing the mod for the mod, for what it offers, not for the updates. So really the only people who are affected by the lack of updates are the people that pay close attention to them, and update regularly.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the Upcoming content on the AoA wiki...
