But it would seem that it wont work on the latest v10.13.4.14490-1.7.10. I think thats because they started preparing for 1.8 and depreciated much of the code in the fluidStack class. the majority of which is what growthcraft runs on.
(BTW, who's updating the mod to the recommended/latest forge?)
I tested only on 1448 cause I always stick to the last racomended version of forge, and wish mod devs does the same, at least for stable release. Anyway, shortybsd did the fix for 1448, GrothHammerPick says he is gonna update and add stuff to the mod.

I like the idea of large, multiblock barrels! 3x3x3 sounds absolutely fine.
Also: agave and tequila, perhaps? Apparently blue agave is massive -- which would make their huge cores ("piñas") inherently conducive to minecraft's cubic meter scale -- and totally compatible with established Growthcraft alcohol processing. It actually looks like most of the plant is edible after being processed in various ways.

Add Pulque as well, using Agave.
Absinthe, though not fermented, could possibly use a new mechanic to create it. Make it oredictionary compatible, so Wormwood from Witchery can be used. Maybe distillation could be added to growthcraft cellar?
We also need Vodka, because I don't understand why potatoes got nothing out of this mod.
Personally i think we should also add in bamboo torches and a bambo stilted ladder. its like a ladder but its a little larger, like 1/4 or 1/2 of a block wide on one side and you can place it by itself instead of needing to place it on another block like regular ladders (that just looks ugly). and it would be crafted like so:

Sounds like you're describing the already-present bamboo scaffold.
And there already are sorta bamboo torches (you can craft torches using only bamboo and bamboo charcoal. However, it would be pretty cool to have jack-o-lantern style bamboo-section lamps.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
I like the bamboo rope ladder suggestion myself. I know Open Blocks has a rope ladder, and there's another mod which adds one or two ladders including a bamboo rope ladder, but it would make a lot of sense here, and the ladder mod has really techy looking blocks that pull the ladders up, whereas Growthcraft easily fits into any age-styled world.
It'd be nice if it wasn't too fancy, just flat like the vanilla ladders or vines, even if it doesn't need a block behind it, or maybe just one "pixel" thick; as a personal preference.

Im sorry, but the bamboo scaffolding just doesnt work for me. I dont like using it as a ladder because in that specific sense it just doesnt look good. I mean, it just doesnt fit into the mod as an actual ladder. and i find that the scaffolding takes up to much space. heres a picture of the scaffolding and what i think the ladder should somewhat look like. but personally i think that the ladder looks better and actually goes with the build.

That is a nice ladder!
And the idea of ladders of course is that they can take you up through a single-block space, which the scaffolds can't do.

Exactly, thats another reason why i dont like using scaffolding as a "ladder". and ive also looked at pictures of bamboo huts, and thats what the ladders looked like. but i got the model off of carpenter's Blocks Mod.

I am kinda left wondering what a freestanding ladder can do that a hanging one can't, though, especially with scaffolds to take up the slack. Surely they'd always go up to something?

The thing with the hanging ladders is that they need a block to place them on (unless its like a rope/vine ladder or something) and i just think that it would look ugly having a block behind the ladders and hardly being able to see the actual ladders. As well as the fact that the scaffolds just dont work as ladders to me, ladders are ment to help you through a one block gap, scaffolds cant do that and kinda look ugly when you use them as a ladder. As a block to help you build very tall structures though i think the scaffolds are perfect, they just dont fit in the mod as ladders though.

Aesthetics, I often like to build my bases on stilts to avoid having mobs waiting right outside my door, scaffolding looks out of place, as do vanilla ladders with wooden planks behind them that exist solely to have those ladders placed on them.
I'll write a list of all ideas that have been posted here:
Rum
Vodka
Tequila
Pulque
Absinthe
Various new forms of wine and beer
New strains of hops and grapes
A distillery
Bamboo ladders
Bamboo rope ladders
Giant barrels
Wormwood
Agave
Gristmills
Revive the kitchen module
Bottling machine
Brandy
Cognac
Apple jack
Apple cider
Grape juice (technically already in though)
Whiskey
More ore dictionary support
I will post updated versions of this every few days or so, so it can be brought to the attention of Groth, if he wants to continue this mod. But only if new ideas are brought forth.
i will pitch in one more idea though. Since new strains of existing crops are being implemented, upland rice could be added as another strain of rice.

I was talking about rope ladders. You remember, the ones I was just recently suggesting?

More aesthetic options are never a bad thing if you ask me, so I for one wouldn't mind having the option of both bamboo rope ladders and freestanding bamboo ladders.
I recognized the models of ladders from carpenters, and if you can do it work without a block behind, it would be pretty cool for stilt houses. Also the suggestion of a distillation process is something you should think about. And what about the old grape smashing technic, where people walk above them? This way we could automatize it, making villagers smash'em with their feet all day. The tiki torches idea is nice too. Do you consider making village models with bamboo blocks, like tiki villages near the beaches (Tropicraft like)?

Something that I'd love to see in a potential updated GrowthCraft, would be more Bee related stuff. Now, don't everyone say "oh but bee's are already overdone in so many mods". I know... there's (half) an entire mod devoted to JUST bees, with.. how many addons? anyway... It wouldn't be anything SUPER fancy like what foresty has and then all its fancy shmancy addons. Simple little things, like upgraded beehives that hold more combs/honey/larve, ones that produce 1 type of thing (combs, honey, larva) quickly/only. the ability to SEE the bees (via particle effects) traveling from the boxes to the flowers. And, I havn't tried it myself so I don't know if it works/is implemented, some kind of automation to pull out the combs and honey and larva, push the larva into an incubator, and then have the queens replace the dead ones! (also, because you would become overwhelmed with bees, you could roast the larva/queens and have some snacks :D)
At least the recipes for that list arent too bad, at least for the alcohol.
As far as the kitchen module goes, maybe get together with some of the other big food mods like Harvestcraft and/or Still Hungry and see what they dont have, I know a fair number of people use those mods together, but they still dont have everything for the kitchen :-).
As for the bees....more honey based recipes for the kitchen module could be created, could replace sugar with honey or make them interchangeable, not that their is a lack of sugar, but its something and could definitely use honey in the alcohol for mead. I havent used GrowthCraft in a while, cant recall if their is a fishing module?. Could use excess bees, wax, string and whatever else for making tackle/lures/bait, that give fishing bonuses....
Think I need to add it to my list and see what else would be good to add.
As long as grapes are being introduced, might as well make both red and white so 3 types of wine could be made (red, white and blush) 4 if you include what I call the table wine, pretty much any fruit with yeast added and some sugar.
and yet it doesnt work in eclipse. xD

Groth, if you want any new mechanics for Growthcraft, why not add a distillation process?
There were also plans for a kitchen module if I recall correctly that would have expanded cooking. Maybe you should see if you can get the code for that, and work on it. http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1286298-growthcraft-jul-15-2014-proper-1-7-10-release?page=75#c1498
What about some content for granaries, such as gristmills?
There were also plans for more buildings, I suggest looking through Gwafu's history, and seeing what ideas of theirs you can implement.
