In other news, it looks like Adubbz definitely added code to supposedly fix the 128+ sub-biome issue. I found the commit in the repository. However, if the fix ever did work it's definitely not working now. Perhaps the fix was negated due to an upgrade in Forge since it was made. I'm going to try downgrading my Forge and testing it like that. However, many mods I use require the latest recommended Forge, so that's definitely not a final solution if it does work.
I have ExtrabiomesXL alongside this mod, and updating forge would cause me to not be able to run EBXL.
I apparently found out it's an issue with the biome IDs. If I use my altered biome ID numbers for biomes o plenty (the numbers range from 179-256), this error occurs. If I use the default IDs, the error doesn't occur.
I wanted to change the IDs because some of them are conflicting with ExtrabiomesXL.

You may be falling victim to the 128+ vanilla Minecraft bug. Any biome id greater than 128 is considered a sub-biome by Minecraft. If you've got any biomes in that range it can cause all sorts of issues. Unfortunately it looks like from this point forward we can't have any more than 128 biomes, minus the default Minecraft ones of course.

Apparently, EBXL has 28 biomes, Vanilla has 39 and BoP has 78 if I am not mistaking. So, should I be fine if I disable at least 17 biomes?
EDIT: Nevermind! My forge was just outdated. It works now, but thx for trying to help

Well i was looking for the coveted "flat mushroom" for a recipe and they dont seem to appear in the fungi forest?.. Can someone please post a picture of what they look like or, suggest a separate way to obtain brown dye. It will be much appreciated, thanks!

I've been trying to use this mod for a while in 1.8 and it won't show up on Forge, nor will I see it as an option when I try to change the world type. I've downloaded the file several times and sometimes my game won't even open. Which is a shame because this looks really well made.
Put all three downloads into mods folder. Forge says there's a conflict between the "universal" and "deobf" files. Putting in one without the other causes the whole thing to crash. What do?
Can someone give me a link to every version for this mod? I'm using Biomes O' Plenty version 0.5.9.4 for 1.5.2 and the hot springs don't give me the nourishment effect
Is there anyway in the configs or jar that I can make the biomes a little bit more noisy? I have found that most of the really cool biomes are quite flat. Just wondering since I saw Etho's new series I thought that the biomes looked really good with them being a little bit more mountainous
the reason why I downloaded this mod was to go to the promise land world but when I got on I clicked the staff and it did nothing can someone help me?I really want to build stuff in the promise land.

DraxisWuf already answered this for you. The promised land has unfortunately been removed.

The Promised Land is no longer in newer versions of the mod, so the Staff is currently useless. To quote the wiki page:
As of Biomes o' Plenty version 717, the Promised Land is no longer in game, and many of the blocks contained there have been completely removed. The Ancient Staff still exists, but serves no purpose.
As for me, I can't get BoP to work at all under 1.8. I updated Forge, but it wont even make it to the Loading Screen.
Magic Launcher and Minecraft will both throw up a rather long Log when attempting to launch with it enabled, but neither have any complaints when running with BoP disabled.

My Magic 8 Ball currently isn't working on predicting the cause of your crash, so how about a crash log to help it along?

You can also make brown dye from cattails.
Thanks!
You can enable bop biomes in the default world in the config file
