Second, I started watching your LP today and I'm currently on ep19 and I thought of an idea when you were on about the divine intervention spell needing you to carry an arcane essence, so I thought I might suggest it to see what you think.
The idea is a Component Pouch or Reagent Pouch, it could be crafted like so:
Key: = Any Wool (maybe colour determines colour of the pouch) = Some of your Runes = Iron = String
Reason for iron and the runes is that it reinforces the bag so it can hold the essences (Some Lore maybe).
The bag could have maybe 6-9 slots (i think 6 because then you would have to have 2 bags to carry one of each type of essence)
Hope you like the idea and would like to know your thoughts on it.
I found out not just Redpower is conflicting (which there's a roundabout fix), Factorization conflicts too. In the log, The game hangs when it reach this command: Ars Magica >> Initializing power lookups
Is there any knowledge of a bug involving this mod throwing tick loop exceptions and some particle related errors when spells are used and optifine is installed? I can post specific errors if need be, just dont want to waste the time re-creating the error if its already a known bug...

I had a similar tick issue with RC 5.32.268. If you're using that version, try updating to RC 5.32.272. I haven't been able to replicate the issue in that version.
I think it might be incompatible with the compactsolars mod, an addon for industrial craft, I got an error message involving items from compactsolars when I tried to install ars magica to my already modded minecraft.
Works fine with compactsolars as I have both installed and no issues, was the error involving an ID conflict?
Just a little question about the new Inscription Table: what is the use for the crafting thingy on the top right corner?

I don't know why, but Condensed Blocks (CBM) is causing this error. The only way, for now, is to remove CBM.
I had just installed the mod with the DNS KE pack and, after removing MFR, got the following error:

I was experimenting with gateways, hoping to use them in making an adventure map, when I came across a problem - I couldn't go anywhere. Then I remembered, oh yeah, they need essence to work. So I gave them a bit of essence, and... still not going anywhere. I set two up really close together and charged them, and... yes, it did work. Okay, so I just need more essence to cover that distance. I used a nexus and my own magic and sat there for ages charging the thing both automatically and manually. Took forever, but I finally managed it. The thing is, the distance I was trying to go was not, in my opinion, all that far.
What I'm trying to say is that I think it would be better if the required essence for travel was re-balanced. It would also be nice if there were an uninscribable spell to instantly charge stuff to full.

Currently, I think it is pretty balanced. The essence cost for using a gateway is proportional to the mana cost for using recall. Could you tell me how much essence was in the nexus using the sense energy spell?
I have read the wiki and read through countless pages to find an anwser to my problem. I have yet to find a solution. I cannot get this mod to load up and work. I have the most current forge loaded and running correctly. I have un-installed my other mods so they will not be the problem. With just minecraftforge-universal-1.4.6-6.5.0.471 loaded I have put the MCore zip in the coremods folder, and the ArsMagica zip in the mods folder, i did not merge the resources folder. I would like to use this mod with Thuamcraft. So please help..... What am I doing wrong?
I have managed to fix the config issue for use in the Mindcrack FTB pack, but I can not get my own private server to start up, due to a server tick loop. latest mod version.
Willing to share my config file, as well, if wanted.
I had a similar tick issue with RC 5.32.268. If you're using that version, try updating to RC 5.32.272. I haven't been able to replicate the issue in that version.
Just tried, getting another graphical error now, optifine list installed, error log:

Happened after killing a hecate with a sword while he was invisible. Optifine may well be the cause of the problem but I'd have to go back and test without optifine for quite a long time to make sure.
Also, looking at the error I seriously doubt this would make a difference, but I did modify the block ID's and some of the item id's to make it work with the mods I was using in the config file.
Edit: After a few more minutes of killing mob's at night (mage battles going nearby), while I was just walking around looking for something to kill, got the same exact error. Testing without optifine now.
Edit 2: Been playing with no optifine for quite some time, killed a hecate and hung around mages, no problem. Seemingly confirmed that optifine is the problem.

It's been charging for a while beyond what it needed, so I can only use my memory here. It's just that I could see the place I was trying to go from where I was and I was around 45% charged on the keystone receptacle when it finally worked, and when I think of a magical gateway I think of really long distance travel. I suppose it's not the biggest deal - with gateways in a sort of chain and enough time spent charging them, longer distances can be covered. Actually, now that I think of it, maybe once I hit 100% I'll be able to reach a distance I'm good with. I still think the instant-charge idea is useful, though.
Also, another random suggestion here, it'd be nice if you could dye the keystones to tell at a glance which one is which. (And make them look cooler.) Renaming them with an anvil still leaves me opening the inventory when I've got two or more keystones.

There is a spell like that is in the game (I haven't found it personally, but it is in NEI).
It is not instant, but instead converts your mana to essence that gets put into the target object you are casting at.
(Or at least, that is what the description in NEI says. Again, I haven't played around with it).
You'll probably need to be a rather high level to make a serious difference though (as opposed to just using the nexus mechanic).
Maybe cheat in the scroll into a test world and just quickly test out if it does what you want.

People just can't stay away from me... but that is because I'm so fat I have my own gravitational field.
It's the flying cutlery that stresses me out.
How do you install this as Forge is saying it been installed but not active?
Plus, where is the resources folder for the sounds?
You have to have Mcore installed as well or you are seeing Mcore disabled but Ars itself is working (known issue). The resources folder was missed for the current release it's a known oversight and a workaround is to download the last version and use it's resources folder as there was no change (from a post by Mithion)
Edit: I just tried it and it seems to work fine. are there any issues I should know about?
thanks man are you still useing 1.4.5 or did you up date?
I'm on 1.4.6 now. The update Mithion put out today has ironed out a lot of issues in Ars Magica

Same for you.
Mithion: Can you add the CBM in the incompatible mods?

Plus, where is the resources folder for the sounds?
Life is a Learning Curve....
Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
It's the flying cutlery that stresses me out.
You have to have Mcore installed as well or you are seeing Mcore disabled but Ars itself is working (known issue). The resources folder was missed for the current release it's a known oversight and a workaround is to download the last version and use it's resources folder as there was no change (from a post by Mithion)
