This tower that I am making is like a super-awesome-long-megabuild. Hidden Rooms and some dungeons under. And at the very top... a chest with a Valuable magic scroll. It's not easy finding the way to the top. So i think it should be cool to have a treasure there. You just have to input it because i don't have the mod.
Reply if you think this is a good idea.
Also, is there a limit to the size of the tower?
Spell Suggestions: (I'm sorry if any of these were already suggested, I didn't have time to read all the suggestions. If any of these were already suggested please, anybody, message me)Spell Name: Mage ShieldSpell Type: Self/BuffDescription: Surrounds (or maybe just covers the front of) you with a magical shield, preventing maybe 10-15% of damage when in diminished mode, 20-30% in normal mode, and about 50% in augmented mode (these numbers are all very much open to discussion), and would cost maybe 10 mana, 15 mana, and 20 mana plus 5 bones (I have no idea how much 1 mana is worth so again, greatly open to discussion.) Lasts 10 seconds in diminished with 30 second cooldown, 15 seconds in normal with 15 second cooldown, and 30 seconds in augmented with 10 second cooldown.Spell Name: Wind DashSpell Type: Channeled?Description: Shoots the player forward, knocking all mobs out of the way. Shoots the player forward about 5 blocks and knocks mobs back 2 blocks in diminished mode for 10 mana (30 second cooldown), shoots the player forward about 10 blocks and knocks mobs back 5 blocks in normal mode for about 20 mana (20 second cooldown), and shoots the player forward about 20 blocks and knocks mobs back 10 blocks in augmented mode for about 35 mana and 10 sugar (15 second cooldown).Spell Name: Icesplosion (kind of a cheesy sounding name, it can easily be changed)Spell type: Projectile/AoEDescription: Shoots a bolt of ice at an enemy, up to 20 blocks away, which does a small amount of damage, then after a few seconds, explodes. In diminished mode, it would explode after 5 seconds, doing half a heart of damage on contact, and exploding 2 blocks on each side, for maybe 3 hearts and 5 mana. In normal mode, it would explode after 3 seconds, doing one heart of damage on contact, and exploding 3 blocks on each side, for about 5 hearts and 10 mana. In augmented mode, it would explode after 1.5 seconds, doing 2 hearts of damage on contact, and exploding about 5 blocks on each side, for about 8 hearts, 25 mana, and 15 snowballs. (The mana can be changed and the explosions would only do damage, not destroy blocks.) Edit: On augmented it slows the enemy for 1.5 seconds, before the explosionSpell Name: IlluminaSpell Type: Not sure what it would be considered.Description: Either shoots a beam of light forward, or surrounds you in a bubble of light (does no damage, just helps you see.) Would cost 5 mana for 10 seconds in diminished mode with a 30 second cooldown, 10 mana for 15 seconds in normal mode with a 20 second cooldown, and 30 seconds in augmented mode with a 10 second cooldown. (Again, mana can be changed.)Edit for another spell:Spell Name: Raise EarthSpell Type: Block-TargetDescription: Raises the earth 2 blocks in front of you to create a temporary wall. On diminished mode, it would make a 1x2x1 (widthxheightxlength) wall for 1 second and 10 mana. On normal mode, it would make a 3x3x1 wall for 3 seconds and 20 mana. On augmented mode, it would make a 5x5x5 wall for 5 seconds, causing 3 hearts of damage to any mob it initially hits, and costing 40 mana.A few more spell edits:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Spell Name: FurySpell Type: ProjectileDescription: When hitting a mob, it causes them to attack the nearest mob besides itself. In diminished mode, it costs 10 mana and causes fury for 5 seconds on the targeted monster (not peaceful mobs). In normal mode, it costs 15 mana and causes fury for 10 seconds on the targeted monster. In Augmented mode, it costs 25 mana and 5 sulfur (the sulfur is just an idea, since creepers cause anger) and causes fury on the targeted mob (including peaceful ones) and increasing damage dealt by 1 heart (meaning peaceful mobs do 1 heart of damage.)Spell Name: Trickster JumpSpell Type: SelfDescription: On first use it selects a point at whatever block you're standing on, then when used again, it teleports you back to that block. In diminished mode, it can teleport you a total of 5 blocks (if you move more than 5 blocks from the original point, it will teleport you as close as you can get to that point), and cost 5 mana. On normal mode, it will teleport you up to 8 blocks away, and cost 10 mana. Finally, in augmented mode it can teleport you up to 15 blocks away, and deal 2 hearts of damage to any mobs within 3 blocks of the point you teleport back to, costing 20 mana and an enderpearl (if this seems to expensive, you could maybe make it so the enderpearl isn't consumed.)Spell Name: Lava RainSpell Type: AoEDescription: On use, it causes a rain of lava (this at the end would maybe disappear) which basically just acts like normal lava and burns things. On diminished mode it would cost maybe (now that I'm getting a little bit of sense for mana costs) 300 mana, and the lava wouldn't spread or cause fire and have a range of 10 blocks on each side (if the not spreading or causing fire is too hard, it would just be the range part.) On normal mode it would spread but not cause fire, costing 500 mana and having a range of 15 blocks on each side. In augmented mode it would spread and cause fire, costing 750 mana and 3 flint and steels, with a range of 30 blocks on each side.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I didn't quite have time to finish and get .schematic file, but here's some screenshots so you know what it is, and then I can finish and get the .schematic in the afternoon. Edit: In a hurry I couldn't get the screenshots in the post, but I have one for my profile picture. Edit again: The picture was too big and I tried to get a .zip download, but I'm a newb so you'll just have to take my word that I made a tower. I also wouldn't mind getting a message from anyone important in the development of this mod just to make sure my message has been noticed. And you don't have to use all these spells, I just put in some extra for good measure. for an amazing mod!
Please take the time to at least skim this topic before thinking it's overpowered and stupid. That's how I felt at first but this guy quickly showed how good his idea is.
Riot: a aoe based attack that causes 1/3 of nearby mobs to go into a fit of chaos attacking each other
Overload: Target an undead mob and overloads the dark magic causing it to rise causing it to explode dealing damage and restoring your mana
Arcane Fist (selfcast): your fist becomes empowered with mana and any damage dealt with your fist will be tenfold
Polymorph (target/self): target gets turned into a silverfish preventing use of tools but increases movement speed and allows you to get into smaller spaces you also will not get detected by mobs (well exept ocelots and chickens)
Hate to ask, but any chance of another teaser? Some new features you've come up with?
Course, I'd much prefer you to be ironing out the bugs and finishing code rather than filming another video.
There will not be another teaser coming out unfortunately. I will hint at another recent addition called spell affinity. It will allow you specialize in an affinity granting you benefits in that affinity but applying penalties in an opposing affinity. Details will come in due time

There is a limit due to the time it takes to spawn one of these towers in. We may be able to use it as a quest spawn however and would definitely love to see it. If you do make a mega build you might also consider a smaller section or version to submit as a tower as well
Since I don't have a blasted clue on how to export towers and all, I suppose I can toss out a few spell suggestions:
Spell Name: Avalanche. Spell Type: Single target projectile/AOE. Description: The caster fires a projectile at the enemy, causing chunks of earth to cascade down, crushing and suffocating the target. Diminished Mode: Creates a 3x3 chunk of sand over the enemy's head that quickly falls and traps them. Normal Mode: Creates a 3x3 chunk of gravel over the enemy's head that quickly falls and traps them, and sinks into the earth with the enemy approximately it's total height. Augmented Mode: Conjures a 5x5 chunk of gravel above the enemy's head that quickly falls down on top of them, trapping them and sinking into the ground it's total height.
Spell Name: Creeping Nova. Spell Type: Self-casted AOE. Description: The caster conjures 12 friendly Charged Creepers that are hostile to anything around him, and march off in every direction until they hit an opponent or a wall and explode. This spell is ill-adviseable to be used in mines and caves unless you have the distance to not get harmed in the blasts. Diminished Mode: The Creepers go in a straight line, from the block they were summoned in, exploding when they meet something about a block in front of them. Normal Mode: The Creepers now have the intelligence to jump over block high gaps, and when they explode, they spawn fire in every adjacent square around them. They still detonate when hitting a gap larger than one block though. Augmented Mode: The Creepers now call down a bolt of lightning when they explode, as well as leaving fire in their blast radius. They will now actively seek and home in to any moving target that is not the player. Should they lose track of the target, however, they will behave as if they were cast in Normal Mode.
Spell Name: Cleansing Light. Spell Type: Caster-Centered AOE Description: The caster invokes a spell which strikes terror into the creatures of evil. Diminished Mode: The caster creates a blinding flash of light which lights Skeletons, Zombies, Ghasts and Zombie Pigmen on fire and makes them run away in fear for about 10 seconds. Endermen, Creepers, Spiders, Blazes and Slimes aren't affected. Normal Mode: The caster creates a blinding flash of light that instantly kills Skeletons, Zombies, Ghasts and Zombie Pigmen, and lights and fears Creepers, Endermen, Spiders and Blazes for 10 seconds. The flash also illuminates approx. a 10 block radius for about 20 seconds as if there were a torch where the caster was standing. Augmented Mode: Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies, Endermen, Ghasts and Blazes are all instantly destroyed by the purifying light. Anything living excluding the caster, however, is set ablaze and feared. This version of the spell also illuminates the area.
Spell name: Imbue Tool.
Type: Channeled/buff.
Effect: Imbues a tool with an effect correlating the particular element being used.
There are 10 elements that can be used; Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, Wood, Flesh, Soul, Light, Essence, Entropy.
I have no idea what to do for each element, so I will let you guys mess with this and interpret it as you want to.
Spell Name: Mana Regeneration Spell Type:Self
Once used, the spell will continually regenerate your mana quicker than usual. It will take out your health to trade for mana. It will work for a short period of time (duration will increase as level increases).
Spell Name: Revive Spell Type: Self
If once used, and hits another player, it will revive the player, depending on the amount of mana the caster has, the health of the revived player will vary, when used on self, same effect applies.
Spell Name: Light Beam Spell Type: Projectile
Once used, a powerful light beam will appear from the caster shooting a ray 20 blocks in front of the caster inflicting damage on any mobs in the way.
I would also like to help you fix things that need fixing for the mod. So i would gladly like to try the beta version.
Hey everyone, loving all the feedback - keep up the great work!
This is just a quick notice that the beta contest will be ending at 8 AM EST on Saturday, September 29, so if you're working on something, make sure you get it in by then!
After that, I will go through and select the winners of the contest.
And I just had another idea for a lovely new electric spell. Make that two: Tesla's Mortar and Thor's Hammer.
Tesla's Mortar:
Type: long-range projectile AOE
Effect on entity: hits entity for base damage times (# of targets/max count of 10-15). Max targets affected can be changed by spell cast type. Creepers have 50/50 chance between exploding and becoming super creepers. Super creepers just feast on the electricity and are healed after the initial change.
Effect on block: metallic blocks shatter, grass and trees are lit on fire, and basically anything flammable burns on contact within a set area.
Size of effect: 10-15 blocks.
Also comes in ignition (lights everything on fire) and water (douses fire in an area and leaves behind a couple source blocks)
Thor's Hammer (Mjolnir)
Type: bound weapon
Effect: Basically a giant hammer that you can swing and knocks back all entities within a 3 block cone. Seriously. Right-click to activate single-target lightning.
Okay, the second one is a bit of a cheap idea but come on! I like electricity and Mjolnir is the epitamy of that.
Btw, did you have time to look at the towers? Just wondering if you had feedback on the thirty-minute project.
Anyway, I would like to sign up for the beta testing. I do use a mac as a side note.
I have a pretty bad memory and am part of another Minecraft mod's community. This will make my feedback to you not very common. When I do remember I will try and write longer reports. On to business.
I have made a Mage tower in my Minecraft and saved it's schematic, however I don't know where schematics are saved on a mac. I was going to put cobwebs in it but I thought it was a populated building. I also didn't put anything inside it(except torches) because I didn't know what was supposed to be inside it. It has four rooms branching off the side and -
A picture speaks a thousand words.
Download link for schematic when I find it: ------------
Question, though, can I submit any more schematics before the end of the day?
You can submit as much as you like - even after the contest closes, you can feel free to submit ideas and such, but at that point unfortunately, they will not be able to grant you closed beta access.
There will not be another teaser coming out unfortunately. I will hint at another recent addition called spell affinity. It will allow you specialize in an affinity granting you benefits in that affinity but applying penalties in an opposing affinity. Details will come in due time

I noticed that you have been replying to the questions and helping out a lot. Are you an admin or a helper in this mod?
Here are some spells i think would be an interesting addition:
Detection
Buff
Allows you to see an outline of enemy mobs through walls. This could be helpfull while dungeon crawling.
Sacrifice
Self
Turns health into mana.
Feathered Whirlwind
AOE
Summons a group of angry chickens to fly about angrily and damage nearby mobs (possibly even yourself) then disapear.
Leech Bug
Projectile/Buff
Launches a bug at a mob. This bug then drains health or mana from the enemy and transfers a portion of it to you.
Snare/Infancy
Trap
When placed on the ground, creates a trap that either cages the mob, or turns it into a spawn egg.
Reduction
Buff
Makes you 1x1 tall for a few seconds
This could be helpfull for getting through small spaces.
Clairvoyance
Buff
Allows you to see otherwise invisible creatures (such as ghosts or wisps) and towers.
This leads to my tower wich I imagined as one of the invisible towers. Here are some screenshots of it
They arent in .schematic form because im not sure how to do that. Is it with MCedit?
I also thought a cool adition to this mod would be a block that drains life from mobs and turns it into energy for the nexus or the reverse of that, a block that heals mobs by using energy.
I am going to have to assume i didn't get beta access. D:
awwww
And wondering will multi summoning ever be possible? I like the idea of a zombie army
Necromancy POWER
If you add the fire wyrm spell, could you consider a thunderbird spell as well? Since a fire wyrm would be a stream it of fire, a thunderbird could be a vaguely bird-shaped orb of lightning that intelligently targeted hostile mobs.
