Like Railcraft gunpowder crafting, or IC2 gunpowder crafting, or plenty of mods out there which allow for gunpowder crafting?
Just curious, Mithion, but does the Nexus support other mods items? Like Forge Ore Dictionary items, or items which aren't in it but are crafted from vanilla resources? If not(which would make sense, early mod release and all), maybe a config file section for adding mod resources would be a good idea(I liked that in Thaumcraft 2, you could add anything to it's system and possibly make it).
Another question is if one ends up throwing away a spellbook with things in it, does the nexus increase the value of the raw essence obtained? As in, throw a spellbook dyed red in with mana bolt and fire bolt, get more then just the value of the spellbook.
Oh, and a Essence powered Food Generator/Dispenser. While one could easily make a Caster and put in Mana Bolt, one can't put in splash potions.
The system doesn't have a config file at the moment, but it's built in such a way that it really easily could. I also plan to make use of the forge ore dictionary too.
All "mod" items will have their essence value defaulted to 1 (unless their recipe contains vanilla items, in which case they will be picked up on and used).
As for spell books, because of the way they are implemented, they will not grant essence for the spells inside.
I know there are a couple mods out there that give the ability to craft gun powder. Railcraft is one, Metallurgy is another. There are recipe mods too, though I can only think of one right now that's updated for 1.3.2 and that one makes base class edits, so I don't use it.
Food generator? InstaFridge!
I think I know what you mean at the last part before the food thing, so let me add, I have mettellurgy AND railcraft 1.3.2 installed RIGHT NOW! Also you can use multicraft to have mutiple minecrafts and downgrade them to whatever you want.
Also a bit off topic, is there some massive collection of video game music? It took me two weeks to find the baten kaitos soundtrack!
I think I actually prefer to be able to craft these as normal crafting recipes. It's a lot simpler, and I go through a lot of mana potions. I need to hunt creepers more though, because the second and third tier use gunpowder, and unless I'm totally forgetting something creepers is the only way to get that. (And I hate hunting creepers. They always blow up on me.)
Well, if you dont mind a trip to the Nether, those lovely ghasts will supply you with their tears as well as some gunpowder .... It might be more dangerious and annoying that way though..

Get one gunpowder and just fabricate mana potions.

Some people don't always install more than one mod.
Ok, I just found this and it looks AWESOME!!! One major request if you can please. Try to see if you can work with Thaumcraft 3's creator Azanor, his COMPLETE re-haul and remake of Thaumcraft 2, will be a PERFECT blend with this, but I believe some of the things hes working on like the magical rifts and such may not work well with your corrupt/purified Biomes, unless you two can work together to make sure that his stuff will not interfere or break yours or yours his. these two together would make for an awesome magic only type of world game-play =)
This looks amasing i only have 2 questions. number 1: will it be forge compatible?
and number 2: will it be balenced? i dont really like unbalenced mods they ruin the game

WILL it be? It is! Ars Magica is a forge compatible balanced magic mod. Happy?
Why inside a chest (from a mage archive around 30 layers underground) I just find two gravel blocks and an 1*2 tunnel near it? and, why some spell recipes are many times more common than another ones?
I asked the same question as him, because I have a mac. I could only open the file on one of my mac's, it won't work on the other one. That is why I asked.
Well, i'm looking into servers now, I don't quite get how to forward my port or what the hell it does... If anyone could help me, i'll see about an ars magica server.

Port forwarding just tells your computer where to send download/upload packets to/from. It makes whatever program that needs to connect to the internet run more efficiently. You also sometimes have to do it for your firewall, if you have one, to get the program to work at all.
You should be able to access it from your router control panel, and if you have a firewall, you'll want to forward from there too. If you have windows, you likely won't have to forward, but can from the control panel.
Should be a fairly painless process. If I remember correctly, googling how to do it got me several youtube videos, and it took maybe 5 minutes.

A variant of the dispenser is in the works.

im seeing if i can get one up but i would wait to put it up untill ars is updated for 1.4.2 and mithion would it be ok to post the ip in here?
Happiness is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth.
Of course, if you set up an AM server, go ahead and post the IP.
I agree winraw is the ugly brother of 7zip
