I don't know if this is intended or a bug, but I'm having trouble casting specific spells from a spellbook. My hand does the charge up animation but nothing happens. Casting these spells without the spell book works just fine and doesn't even do the charging animation it's just an instant cast. Some examples of the problem spells are summon shadow, reaping scythe, dig II, and insect swarm. To my knowledge I was able to cast these from a spellbook in past versions, but in 5.52.010 I'm having this problem.

I believe others have also mentioned this incompatibility, but only I posted the error.
Don't remember it - either way, someone was in IRC just the other day with this very issue. Turned out to be a Block ID conflict between the Arcane Reconstructor and whatever the "BlockMeta" is in metallurgy.

same here i think its just the utility spells but it will have to wait till tomorrow unless someone has already tested it yet hasn't posted findings
There seems to be a bug with mob spawning and non-vanilla biomes. Using Biomes-O-Plenty and Ars Magica (latest Biomes-O-Plenty as of this post, and ars magica 5.52.003), ars magica enemy mobs and dryads have only ever spawned on beaches, not even other vanilla biomes (extreme hills, desert, forest, etc.). I'd assume it has to do with Biomes-O-Plenty editing vanilla biomes besides beaches and oceans, making them behave as non-vanilla, but I'm not well versed in code so I can't really say.
Wisps are completely nonexistent, as they can't spawn on beaches, and no other vanilla biome has remained unedited by Biomes-O-Plenty.
Not sure if this is something fixable on your end, Mith, but I figured I'd post it anyways.

I'm having the same problem.... Mostly with the summoning spells like "Summon Dyrad" and, "Summon Shadow". He most likely will fix this in the next update if more people have this problem :\
Hmm, the new UI bar along the top is also kind of freaking out when I hold my Thaumcraft wand. Is there some way to move UI elements around?
In the main config file, there should be an option which allows you to move the GUI to the top left or top right instead, maybe that will solve your problem?
Just want to say, a great mod, but I feel the latest world gen has been a bit borked. Spawning tree huts in the middle of the ocean, in a rectangle island does look a bit rather silly. Spawning grand towers in the nether, so large it breaks through the bedrock ceiling... allowing players to roam the upper "void" freely
Secondly, the whole Magic walls. I feel that perhaps instead, have various Protection blocks, that will only generate magic walls if only certain blocks are destroyed, instead of -all- blocks. Things like spider webs and ladders shouldn't make a magic wall, preventing a player from ever escaping the tower because they accidently broke a block they put down, or one that was passable before. playing on a LAN server, this has caused alot of problems for some of the players... granted it was their own stupidity, but still... it's a bit of a nuisance to fix for them.

See I am a White Mage at heart, but am very sad to see no Light skills to fight against dark ones, skills could be; Light= Celestial Beam (Standard Beam spell that is white) Angelic Leap (Which makes you leap fast and enemies where you land suffer blindness) Radiant Dawn (Which gives Blindness to all nearby enemies, as well as nausea) Radiant Bolt (Which shoots a bolt that does damage) also moving Radiant Shield here would seem Logical, Flash Bang (Teleport to where your target is, sorta like transplace, except that your target doesn't also switch places) Summon Angel (Summon an angel ally to fight with you) Celestial Light (heals allies, hurts undead) Pure Bolt (shoots a bolt that cures negative effects, returns zombie villagers to normal) Light essence could look like a shining star. Dark= Black Hole (Blindness, also gives nausea) Dark Beam (Black beam spell) Summon Demon (summon a demon ally to fight for you) Dark Spike (summon dark spikes in the ground, giving damage when stepping upon the evil symbol) Shadow Bolt (Which shoots a bolt that does damage.) Um, it sounds like you're using an older version. Most of those issues are fixed or rendered irrelevant in the latest version.
Just died a VERY long way from home because I blinked 4 times over some water. Landed and hit the ground too hard with full iron armour on :/ kinda ed because I have no possible way to get all my spells back without going and collecting a ton more resourses and dyes.
Just want to make it clear that the drop would have been about 3 blocks from where i stopped blinking to the ground.
Also from where I started blinking to where I stopped would have been a drop of 10 blocks max which shouldn't even kill me with no armour.
Love the mod though! Very interesting spells and I love that there are so many.
Hello I had a strange crash when i create my nexus. I found another bug with SMP/SSP. If the client creates a new config, the UI works really nice! If I upload the config to our smp, we cant connect to the server, because of a ID failure. When I download the server config and put it back to the client, the UI looks ed up:

This happened when I tried to change one of my mod's config file. The same thing happens when I try to change anything in my mods folder now. It worked fine when I first installed it. Could you please help me?
EDIT: Nevermind, I deleted my config folder (I needed to anyway, I had .cfg files piling up from mods I didn't use anymore) and it worked again. Sorry!
In the latest version with MC 1.5.2, in Survival I'm unable to place/break blocks on generated towers. I am able to in Creative with my game mode set to 0 but I don't want to have the possible option of switching to creative while playing my survival game. Any ideas?

This happened when I tried to change one of my mod's config file. The same thing happens when I try to change anything in my mods folder now. It worked fine when I first installed it. Could you please help me?EDIT: Nevermind, I deleted my config folder (I needed to anyway, I had .cfg files piling up from mods I didn't use anymore) and it worked again. Sorry!
