yeah, not sure, i also deleted the versions folders for 1.7.10 and its forge counterpart to ensure a perfectly fresh install. did you goto .minecraft/versions/ and delete 1.7.10 and 1.7.10-forge(anything) as well as remove them from the launcher before getting a fresh install?

Technology you don't comprehend is akin to witchcraft.
All go in the mods folder, and make sure that you keep the correct extensions (some internet browsers rename the extension).
- The download folder has two versions of PML [the pseudo-base-edit loader that I've been developing] available - use either one you want, since the difference is only supposed to be debug logging, but don't use both at the same time
(If you crash with an "ExclusiveObfuscationException", then you missed the small add-ons. They are separate for avoiding possible legal issues - they provide the obfuscation maps for PML to navigate the base code correctly.)
Also, sorry that I didn't say this earlier - didn't quite get what the problem was, nor that you still had it (since I had answered this same question earlier on this page. oh well )

This will be updated to 1.8.x. Right now, I'm debugging the next version of my loader, which is now independent of Minecraft and Microsoft - it can be used on ANY Java program as a generic modding (or hacking) tool ^^ (once I'm done working out the new issues that have come up, at least)

Hello WeatherPony.
Back before forge I was looking forward to this mod, I am glad its coming back, but I have a couple of questions.
1. No matter what you do with your loader, will this always be (attempted) to be forge compatible. I have over 230 mods and I want to not part with any of them.
2. Are there any mods this mod is not compatible with, I see talks about mystcraft while skimming the thread, I hope this works with it, though contrary to what I just said in my previous statement, I would probably remove MyC as it is notorious with not working well with lots of mods.
3. Does your mod allow you to change the length of a day and night? Currently I am in search for that, I don't mind if such a thing is porportial (EG day length = night length. I hate the V time length in MC.
1. Yes. My loader isn't designed to be a Forge alternative, but instead builds on whatever is available (so more modding APIs or mods -> more hooks my loader provides). The Seasons Mod will keep using Forge wherever it makes sense, and will keep Forge compatibility. (For the record, if something better than Forge came along, I'd switch. I don't like the Forge bureaucracy.)
2. The Seasons Mod and Optifine have long had a history of incompatibility - it's an issue of logic incompatibility, so there's nothing I can do about it (Optifine, or "Optifunny" as I call it, works in part by removing "unnecessary" code calls - The Seasons Mod works by altering specific sections of the code... such as ones Optifine stops calls to.) Mystcraft is not-incompatible with The Seasons Mod - the mods don't conflict, but don't communicate either. Mystcraft is just the most popular added-dimension mod - The Seasons Mod supports dimension-specific settings.
3. Changing the day-night cycle has long been a work-in-progress thing with this mod. Working it in correctly is rather tricky, and is always super-hard to maintain. I know there's a couple of other mods that you could manually sync with the seasons, if you so wanted, including one here by Abastro. (I'm planning on either hooking into his code or working with him directly, when I have time.) - The length of the seasons and other settings can be changed by altering the NBT-based seasonal data file(s) that are generated in the world and dimension specific save folders, though - each dimension can be wildly different, and still be part of the same game save.

queenofbubbles - The '.pmlm' files are renamed zip files, and contain Java code. I renamed to file extension to 'pmlm' (Partial Modification Loader Mod) so that Forge won't try (and fail) to load TSM on it's own - my loader (PML - Partial Modification Loader) works with pseudo-edits (partial modifications). Basically, just install it as a "binary" file (as a zip, but with the 'pmlm' extension) along with the loader and add-ons.
ThatPolishKid99 - I'd need to take a closer look, but maybe that's something I could do later this week.

queenofbubbles - Update your Java to either Java 7 or Java 8 (your choice which one) - this code utilizes some features added in Java 7, so can't be used with Java 6 (which is what you have installed). If you happen to be using Mac Snow Leopard (which doesn't support Java 7 and 8), I've heard it's possible to trick the system into accepting Java 7...

It's up to you if/when to use it, but the current public version actually is stable (pre-3.0 beta4, for 1.7.10) - it's just missing some features and has compatibility issues with certain types of other mods (based on how they were coded). I understand wanting to wait, though, if that's what you choose to do

yeah, not sure, i also deleted the versions folders for 1.7.10 and its forge counterpart to ensure a perfectly fresh install. did you goto .minecraft/versions/ and delete 1.7.10 and 1.7.10-forge(anything) as well as remove them from the launcher before getting a fresh install?

All go in the mods folder, and make sure that you keep the correct extensions (some internet browsers rename the extension).
- The download folder has two versions of PML [the pseudo-base-edit loader that I've been developing] available - use either one you want, since the difference is only supposed to be debug logging, but don't use both at the same time
(If you crash with an "ExclusiveObfuscationException", then you missed the small add-ons. They are separate for avoiding possible legal issues - they provide the obfuscation maps for PML to navigate the base code correctly.)
Also, sorry that I didn't say this earlier - didn't quite get what the problem was, nor that you still had it (since I had answered this same question earlier on this page. oh well

This will be updated to 1.8.x. Right now, I'm debugging the next version of my loader, which is now independent of Minecraft and Microsoft - it can be used on ANY Java program as a generic modding (or hacking) tool ^^ (once I'm done working out the new issues that have come up, at least)

Hello WeatherPony.
Back before forge I was looking forward to this mod, I am glad its coming back, but I have a couple of questions.
1. No matter what you do with your loader, will this always be (attempted) to be forge compatible. I have over 230 mods and I want to not part with any of them.
2. Are there any mods this mod is not compatible with, I see talks about mystcraft while skimming the thread, I hope this works with it, though contrary to what I just said in my previous statement, I would probably remove MyC as it is notorious with not working well with lots of mods.
3. Does your mod allow you to change the length of a day and night? Currently I am in search for that, I don't mind if such a thing is porportial (EG day length = night length. I hate the V time length in MC.

1. Yes. My loader isn't designed to be a Forge alternative, but instead builds on whatever is available (so more modding APIs or mods -> more hooks my loader provides). The Seasons Mod will keep using Forge wherever it makes sense, and will keep Forge compatibility. (For the record, if something better than Forge came along, I'd switch. I don't like the Forge bureaucracy.)
2. The Seasons Mod and Optifine have long had a history of incompatibility - it's an issue of logic incompatibility, so there's nothing I can do about it (Optifine, or "Optifunny" as I call it, works in part by removing "unnecessary" code calls - The Seasons Mod works by altering specific sections of the code... such as ones Optifine stops calls to.) Mystcraft is not-incompatible with The Seasons Mod - the mods don't conflict, but don't communicate either. Mystcraft is just the most popular added-dimension mod - The Seasons Mod supports dimension-specific settings.
3. Changing the day-night cycle has long been a work-in-progress thing with this mod. Working it in correctly is rather tricky, and is always super-hard to maintain. I know there's a couple of other mods that you could manually sync with the seasons, if you so wanted, including one here by Abastro. (I'm planning on either hooking into his code or working with him directly, when I have time.) - The length of the seasons and other settings can be changed by altering the NBT-based seasonal data file(s) that are generated in the world and dimension specific save folders, though - each dimension can be wildly different, and still be part of the same game save.

Curse Premiumqueenofbubbles - The '.pmlm' files are renamed zip files, and contain Java code. I renamed to file extension to 'pmlm' (Partial Modification Loader Mod) so that Forge won't try (and fail) to load TSM on it's own - my loader (PML - Partial Modification Loader) works with pseudo-edits (partial modifications). Basically, just install it as a "binary" file (as a zip, but with the 'pmlm' extension) along with the loader and add-ons.
ThatPolishKid99 - I'd need to take a closer look, but maybe that's something I could do later this week.

Curse PremiumThe loader is now behaving, so I've uploaded it's code to my GitHub (here), and I can now start working more on The Seasons Mod for beta8. I'll do a livestream about how to develop with PML, later on...

Curse Premiumqueenofbubbles - Update your Java to either Java 7 or Java 8 (your choice which one) - this code utilizes some features added in Java 7, so can't be used with Java 6 (which is what you have installed). If you happen to be using Mac Snow Leopard (which doesn't support Java 7 and 8), I've heard it's possible to trick the system into accepting Java 7...

It's up to you if/when to use it, but the current public version actually is stable (pre-3.0 beta4, for 1.7.10) - it's just missing some features and has compatibility issues with certain types of other mods (based on how they were coded). I understand wanting to wait, though, if that's what you choose to do
