Is it terribly difficult to code some other mod's trees and other plants, crops, etc into this mod? Natura is a great mod and mDiyo would be willing to try and make Natura compatible w/ Seasons if it wasn't terribly time consuming.
I see you're being a go-between. :3
Looking at what you posted in mDiyo's thread, what do you mean by compatibility?
I'll code up some stuff that he and other modders can use to check seasons and weather soon, in case he needs it, and will add a section so plants can remove themselves in spring's rain. Beyond that, he should use function supers whenever he can, if he's not already.

I just like both mods a lot and am working on a modpack, thought I'd get your input. Thank you!
It's getting late and I quoted myself in an edit, sorry.
It's fine with me, since I do edits, too. Just ask the 65 people following this topic how many edits I do. The answer's a lot. I think I average an edit per post, maybe more? Excluding edits on the OP, even. So maybe too many edits.
will be possible to translate this mod to other languages?
I'm currently manipulating code for another mod that's near the language stuff (which I'll be going through soon). Once I see how Minecraft adds it (from file, I bet), I'll be adding it the same way.
-> Yes, I will add language support.

It's just as compatible with mods that add biomes as with vanilla biomes.
but will the custom plants grow back in the spring or will it just be the normal tall grass and red/yellow flowers? and will biomes like the glacier biome give me frostbite in the winter?

By default, they won't. Through simple config work that stuff can happen, though. The config file that controls that kind of stuff is "SeasonsData.dat" in each world/dimension folder, and it's edited using an NBT editor (such as NBTedit). There's one for every world/dimension so that each world can be drastically different without needing to restart the game (such as for SMP).
Seasons has always been my favorite mod in minecraft since it came out. I do want to ask if the one update I've been waiting for will ever be implimented, which is seasons in ALL biomes. Such as snow in the desert biome in winter, and melting ice in the snow biomes for summer. I've always wanted Seasons to have that option, but it's never done before, but this update is closer to what I've been wanting since Seasons was introduced.

The next version's going to take it another couple steps closer, but will stop just short. I promise to include that in the following version, though.
I am running Minecraft 1.5.1, Forge 1.5.1-7.7.1.663 and Seasons_Mod_v1.9. No other mods are installed, this is a clean installation so I could test the mod.
Easy to replicate, just drop a creeper and let it explode.
Hope this helps and great mod.
Too new of Forge. I'll be porting to a newer build soon. Sorry about that.

Awesome! Thank you so much for working on it in an update in the future! Been waiting for it for a really long time
No problem. It's the least I can do for making you, and everyone else, wait so long for the next version while I work on other Minecraft modding stuff.
Is it possible to have it snow in some more biomes during winter? Like maybe a config option for the temperature requirement for it to be able to snow or something.
Not the next version, but the version after that. The next version will already be adding stuff for biome configurations.
Brill, thank you very much and keep up the great work.
BTW... Why isn't this mod part of Minecraft..Doh! Mojang.. :-p Fingers crossed you get snapped up.
Thank you.
Dinnerbone tweeted last week that he's thinking of adding seasons to Minecraft. I sent him a message on here, but he hasn't opened it. :/
I can't believe he's only half a year older than me.
I have a suggestion: Add campfires
What they'd do: You would have to use flint & steel on them and, in the winter, they'd warm you up when you're in a like 5 block radius from them, and maybe you'd have to add logs to them every 5-10 minutes or so?
How they should be made: Basic, little campfires should be made with sticks, and bigger campfires with logs. Smaller campfires would last for a shorter period of time without adding logs, and bigger campfires would last a lot longer.
And thanks for making this awesome mod
I'm not going to add it to the mod, but I'll be making various API soon, one of which could be used to do that.
...though frostbite is easily avoided by just having a block above you... even if that block is all by itself at the very top of the world, while you're near the very bottom :/
I found the section of code dealing with moving the sun and moon, so will modify it for either the next version or the version after that.
Hey I have Seasons 1.9 installed, tried both install methods and both times it makes all the water invisible. Otherwise it seems to work fine. Also using Optifine and a few other mods: Metallurgy, Mo'Creatures, Extrabiomes & Highlands, Matmos sound improvement, Millenaire & Mystcraft. I've used these mods before alongside Seasons in 1.4.7 with no issues.....

Start with a fresh jar before downgrading Forge, otherwise you'll have some stuff lingering around leading crashes.
Some people have found that installing Optifine after Seasons fixes the water (and ice), although snow and rain might disagree at times.
The changes regarding seasons in more biomes is great news! Ever since this mod came out from Nandonalt I've been wanting this feature. Thank you very much!
Oh... then I misunderstood. All biomes, including added ones, have seasons. It's just not all that customizable as to how they experience the seasons (ie: cool biomes get snow, but it doesn't melt from heat)

f3 looks to a corner of the chunk you're in, the thermometer looks to the block you're standing on. I've never seen them disagree before, though. o.o
