I am finalizing my modpack this week. I have to abandon using this mod in my modpack. I first wrote on April 9th about the static biome IDs causing conflicts making the mod unloadable. Dev last posted in this thread January 30th. I have been patient.
I realize RL always takes priority.
I hope the dev is one day able to put things together and realize the great potential of this mod. It could make a more interesting Nether, if it worked along with mods like Natura, Gany's Nether, Nether Ores, NetherX(which also currently is not compatible with any other Nether mod).

Hey guys,
I want to keep you up to date about the state of this mod. The last time it was very quiet here because there's still no update for minecraft 1.7. But the thing is, that even if I now have theoritical update all basic stuff, some of the biome and dimension stuff is, as far as I know, nearly unpossible to update right now without risking big incompatibilties with other mods. Furthermore, forge have changed its packet system. I've updated my packet as good as I could.
And as long as I can't update the biomes, the dimension and the packets fully, I am aslo not able to test the other code.
I will try to find an acceptable solution to get it working, if I don't find any, I'll just wait until Forge implemented some solutions.
Depending on the release date of minecraft 1.8 and a new Forge version containing solutions to the Dimension and Biome problem, it could be, that there won't be any modversion for minecraft 1.7.
Also minecraft is moving away from unique player names to unique player IDs. I've already implemented that into the source code, but for all future donators I now require their "Unique User ID" instead of the account name.
And here's a fact, wchich could beinteresting for some of you: Minecraft is no longer using numeric IDs, instead Strings(chain of letters and other characters) are used. By putting the ID of the mod in front of the Block or Achievement ID, conflincts with other mods gets now extremly unlikely, which reduce the content of the Config file drastically.
Another good news is that with upcoming minecraft 1.8 all dimensions are loaded separately which is increasing the performs inside of the "Fallen Sky".
Do you have a twitter I can follow? I'd like to know when the new version with configurable biome IDs is released
No, I haven't a Twiitter account. ANd to your other posts, as you can read above there won't be many ID conflicts in the future, even if the Biomes have still a numeric ID, I will make them configurable.
So that it was. Quite a lot of text :). I wish you fun playing minecraft and a nice summer, at least for tose of you living in the northern hemisphere like me

PS: Hoping that I haven't too much typos and grammar or spelling mistakes, since it's quite a long text and everything is underline red due to the fact my browser isn't configurated to do a english spelling check.
awesome, once everyone moves on to 1.8 this mod will be awesome to use, I came here to give my own R.I.P message, but now I see that he plans on making it 1.8
Unfortunately my free time heavily decreased since I enered the final phase of school about 2 years ago. Now being close to the final exams in a 3/4 year, I have less spare time then ever before. I might start updating after I finsihed school, although I can't promise anything.
SInce the code needs a lot of changes, it might be better to completly rewrite it from scratch, improve the balancing and maybe finish the big update I was working on since the last few updates .
At least, if I can't afford to work on it myself, I will make the Mod Open Source and if you're lucky enough, there's someone willing to carry the project on.
Its nice to see that this Mod will be worked on again (I thought it was dead for a long time.)
This has all ways been one of my Favorite Nether Mods (After my own). If you would like some help with Updating, I have lots of Experience in 1.7.10 and 1.8, And I would be happy to help out. (if i get proper credit for my work)

Well, that's a kinda late reply, but as is probably already obvious by now, the port to 1.10 did not work out and I don't have time to update and maintain the mod anymore. It was fun and I still had additions planned, but Minecraft 1.2.5-1.6.4 is all I could manage.
Even though it is already linked in the top post, I'll point out that the source code is available (LGPLv3 with Minecraft-exception, CC-BY-SA) (and I just added the resources as well), so anyone interested could pick it up again. Repo
If someone does attempt to port it, please let me know, I'd love to see how this turns out and how it will be integrated with the changes from vanilla Nether update .

Here some replies to post of yours:
That's just a debug message for testing puposes I forgot to remove before release.
