What does this mod do?
My mod adds 40 sets of new stairs to the game. All crafted the normal way to craft stairs, but with their respective block.

History of this mod:
This mod came about when my friend asked me why Minecraft does not have glass stairs. I decided to learn a bit of java to code this mod for just my friend, then I told people on the server I play (OnionForce, if you're interested) about it and they all seemed to be interested. I though if that many people were, why not share with everyone? I posted it, and it became quite popular. Now it's off of PMC and on here. I just hope that people will see it here. I love when people get joy from my mod. Any other mods I post will be here, as well.
Installation:
1. After downloading from the provided link below, place the file somewhere you can find it.
2. Open the .zip in an archiver tool, such as WINrar or 7zip
3. Go to start, search %appdata% and press enter (WinXP type run then %appdata%).
4. Assuming Forge ModLoader(Universal, not source) is already installed, just drag the one .class into your minecraft.jar that you right clicked and opened with an archiver tool.
5. Delete META-INF and close minecraft.jar
6. Enjoy!
If you are using MagicLauncher, then just add it in there and set it to load AFTER ForgeML
To change item IDs: 1. Go to start, search %appdata% and press enter (WinXP type run then %appdata%).
2. Open the .minecraft folder.
3. Open the config folder.
4. Open the MoreStairs.cfg file with a text editor.
5. Chose the item IDs you'd like, but I recommend keeping a backup of the default one, too.
(This mod, by default, uses item IDs 139-178)

Just copy the code in that link into your signature to use it!
Great mod. It's a shame Paril removed it. +rep'd your post Also, with this post I lose my post rank "The Meaning to Life, the Universe, and Everything..."
Edit: The signature thing is messed up...
Oh, goodie, some code for a signature! I won't be able to put it in my signature, as I have two lines already :/
Edit: I made a comment about this post on the video by Sky. I hope some people see it. Also, if they did, prepare for the spam.
Is it something I'm doing wrong? I get weird shadows on top of the stairs when I place them - or under them when I invert them. I have tried several texture packs just to be certain it wasn't that, and I went through my HD patcher settings carefully to make sure they're all right. Any thoughts?
Other than that, I love the selection of stairs - AND I love that they're invertable! Glass stairs are awesomeness...and all of the 'metals' too. Particularly keen is the way your mod uses the tex pack's textures so that it matches your stairs! Awesome. I really hope it's just something stupid that I can fix so I can continue using your mod..it's just that cool!

It has something to do with light opacity. something the op need to fix.

Light opacity is set (I kind of know what his code looks like for it, somewhat.) He still has not been able to figure it out, either. If I remember, light opacity on Glass Stairs is set to 2(float) and on everything else it is 1(float)

I know its light opacity because I had that fixed way back then on my mod. its under custom stairs block file...

you mean just setting it in the mod_ file .setLightOpacity(float) after the initialization of the block. Or in the static, if anyone uses that anymore for blocks.

You copy the src code from wood stairs and rename it to blockcustomstairs. Then change the opacity and then go into mod_WHATVERNAME and chage the codes to work with that new class file.
I only use one class for my mod: mod_MoreStairs. All it needs is one class, not many to define what kind of stair it is. I am pretty sure that lighting bug is default to Minecraft, though I will look into it.
If you want the mod to get noticed more then fix your title. It should read "[1.3.2] More Stairs". Plenty of people sort by mod title, then skip pages until they find their version.

Thanks. Been thinking about adding slabs, though not sure yet. And that is the image hosting site I use
