Actually we never updated the koi mod for post-final Minecraft, so someone else updated it. Don't really care right at the moment though. On the other hand, if you see Slappy's anywhere else, nobody, and I mean nobody, has permission to host it right now
Shouldn't be, it's in the folder I packed up and tested with. I just checked the code too, it's looking for the right texture. That's an odd one, it should be in the slappy folder, named eela.png
Odd, but ok. Just so you know, they will despawn if you get far enough away. The plants won't, but if you're planning on setting up tanks I wouldn't wander too far if it bothers you to respawn them. At some point I'm going to have to give the eggs different colors lol

That's odd. The koi were having an issue because I forgot to assign the texture names for each value, I fixed that after someone mentioned it. The seaturtle is fine though, there's one in the video and I used the same files that I put up on mediafire in that minecraft.jar. That's an odd one.Lemme know what happens, and if you see any others that are doing it.
SMP is something we've considered in the past, and we'd like to do a version at some point, but I wouldn't even know where to start with it right now. So yeah, stick around and we might get something going, that Forge thing looks interesting, I took a peek at the source. Looks like it adds block ids, item ids, works as a modloader, has a built in audio mod, it's damned spiffy... I'm probably not going to switch the singleplayer version over, but for SMP I don't see why I'd go any other way, yeah?
-edit- Outside of topics related to our mods I haven't browsed MC forums in many months, DJ's the big Minecrafter, so I really don't know much about Forge
I understand. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. This mod is not bad by any means. I guess I'm just nitpicky I suppose and thanks for a list of most everything. and when you say something like 5 alligator gar or something, does it mean that there are 5 species? Plus, I know this mod will get popular. Just give it some time since it was posted like yesterday.
By the way. I noticed that you mentioned lizards. How far is this mod going to branch out anyways? Are you going to go to like reptiles, birds, mammals, bugs, which is pretty much everything? And plants too. I noticed that also. Just wondering because some non-fish are listed.
A team of my wife and I are all that are working, and there is currently no way to configure spawns. The degree to which you will be able to do so (if at all) has yet to be decided. As for lag, it's possible, but they shouldn't really spawn in enough numbers to cause huge issues. If your computer struggles with the game already, you might consider installing Optifine or turning down the draw distance, oddly enough the fog makes the oceans look rather nice even if you can't see very far.
It's beautiful. And quite honestly nothing made me happier that seeing that little 'compatible with Better Than Wolves' blurb. I just tried it out and I am extremely impressed. I can confirm I take a bit of a lag hit when I come across coral reefs, but it is not that bad and lasts maybe a couple seconds before it evens out.
Good job, the both of you, and thank you for creating this. I will be adding this beautiful mod into my regular assortment, and I recommend that anyone else reading this does the same.
I don't mind that the fish are not all blocky or minecrafty or what have you. I'm a big fish enthusiast myself, and I know just how odd and varied they can be. Especially in the ocean. I think it feels it perfect that they seem alien in this big blocky world. I can't wait to try it out when it hits 1.3.2. Sadly I forgot to back up my 1.2.5 jar. This may become one of those 'must have' mods. Can't wait!
Was able to downgrade! Really, really nice though I ran into some odd bugs. The main one being rather large and dark shadows around the frogs. It's less noticeable in the water, but it's very distracting.
The fish also have these noticeable circles, but they're smaller and not as dark.
Also stumbled across this:
Looks really nice with how it sways, but is this sea grass? Or is it supposed to be on land? It also has that round darken shadow in the middle. That and it's floating in the air over top more sea grass(?).
I'll drop more pictures if I find anything odd. Otherwise, awesome mod you guys! I am hooked!
Edit: Found drift wood. Nice touch. Now we need sea shells on the beaches too. XD The little tiny jellie fish are ADORABLE! And I found a star fish! And djhfksdhfkjsdh. Loving this you guys!
Were you reading my mind, good sir? I simply praise this mod. Only one problem. Wouldn't this make the game lop-sided, having so much underwater stuff and barely and land stuff? Just wondering what everybody else thinks about that...
Whatever, I have a couple suggestions: as stated in a post above, sea shells (maybe for decor in your home?). We also might need stronger fishing rods in order to catch stronger fish, we could put in fishing pails to bring to our aquariums.
Oh yeah, any narwhals or sharks/hammerheads? If not, I would love to see them in this mod.
Edit: There is no octopus eggs. :\.
P.S. I am full of suggestions, whenever you guys need it!
The plants all have land variants, based on biome (they use the same texture since they don't really look different). If it's a bit floaty that's because we created an entity, everything in our mod is "alive" and at some point will probably grow, but they can spawn in places where they are hanging over edges (the grass is bad about it, since it's bigger than 1 block), just kill it when you see it doing that lol. We have fresh rock as well, tried to cover all the bases. The shadows... that's a new one. If anyone else comes across it let me know, all the mobs we added should have a shadow size of 0.5 blocks, so I have no idea what's causing it.
Also, we have no means to feed them right now, fishing... might happen? I dunno, if fishing were an easy thing to implement I think someone would've done it already. We'll have to see if I can ever cobble something together. I've always liked the way the Breath of Fire series handled fishing, so if we do it I'd probably try to make it similar to that. We do plan to try and add some sort of fish log book so you can track the ones you've caught (once we have a means to catch them), and we will have a way to tame/feed/transport them sometime soon.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words, we're glad you're enjoying it.
okay ,
I have a new account called "Mushroomsock" now, so please do not send me PMs.

Also is this mod created by a modding team or a single person?

how about some mythical sea creatures? if you want ideas for some let me know!
Or maybe a narwhal, and if you feed it bacon at a "certain" time of night, you get a very rare koi egg xD
