Great mod works really well. it's a little laggy at the beginning but works well. I dont mind having to change the control keys cause it works amazingly! <4
just curious as to when you think you might have the update that fixes the saving blocks problem released, or are you waiting to add more before you release a new version?

I generally won't do a new release for a minor bugfix. I'm in the process of adding some more significant fixes to lighting and opacity in general (and I'm hoping to fix that blasted fog issue), and when I'm done that, I'll release a new version. The saving blocks problem is already fixed locally, so it will be in the next release. I'm fairly confident you'll see that within a week or so.

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

Although we can't see those pictures unless you upload them to an image hoster (http://imgur.com is a good one), I would suggest that maybe there's a clever anti-XRay trick being used by the server you're on. If you can tell me which server it's on, I'll check it out, but I'll remind you that you should check if the server allows X-Ray mods first.
Update to 12w34a will be up in just a few minutes, stay tuned!
Edit: Sorry it's taking so long, there was a change to the snow melting code which gave me some difficulty in finding the snow class this time around (which I need to edit in order to hide the snow on the ground in X-Ray mode).
Edit 2: Aha, got it! Testing now, upload in a few seconds.
Updated to 12w34a! You'll notice it also has a couple of the improvements that will be in the next release. Saving is now pretty well fixed. Fullbright now has two "on" modes. The first is similar to the night vision potions, and makes everything nice and bright without removing skylight vs blocklight tinting. I quite like it, and think it looks much better than the old one. The second essentially turns the gamma up well beyond its normal limits, and looks quite similar to the old Fullbright.
However, X-Ray is currently quite dark with smooth lighting on, which is something I'll have fixed for the next release.
As I said, I'll need you to post an error log or there's nothing I can do to figure out what's going wrong. There are instructions for how to get one in the Troubleshooting section of the OP.
Can you please post a pre-compiled jar file.. I cannot get this to work on 1.3.2 when I do it myself, it just stays black at launch. I know I did it right, but I can't get it to work for the life of me using my mac.
First I unzipped the mod,
Extracted my .jar to a folder
replaced .class files from mod to minecraft folder (extracted jar)
deleted META-inf then compressed all files to minectaft.zip
renamed to .jar
Your problem is that .zip files are not .jar files whether or not they have been renamed. The easiest way to mod your jar on a Mac uses Terminal (found in the Utilities folder under Applications); copy the following code into Terminal and press enter.
cd ~
mkdir mctmp
cd mctmp
jar xf ~/library/application\ support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
Navigate to your user folder, which will now contain a folder called mctmp, and copy the .class files (and subfolders) into mctmp. Delete the folder META-INF, copy the code below into Terminal, press enter, and run Minecraft.
cd ~/mctmp
jar uf ~/library/application\ support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
cd ~
rm -rf mctmp
I'm pretty sure there may be something wrong with your mod for 1.3.2, because I tried installing it by itself and it didn't work. But I'll get a crash report up soon.
But, if its just a black screen there is no crash report?
Try redownloading both Optifine and the Xray and unzip both of them before copying files. Optifine B3 may be incompatible with this mod because of its added Forge compatibility, so make sure to use B2.
Still didn't work, I really want this xray but it just doesn't work for me. I even tried to use just the mod, not the merge one, without optifine, and it still blackscreened. I've installed MANY mods and this one is just problematic.
I get the feeling 12w32b is incompatible with 12w32a, but I'm checking now. If it's incompatible, you'll see an update in a few minutes.
In other news, I'm a little concerned because Jeb and Dinnerbone say that the biggest changes they're going to be making for the Mod API are to the renderer, which is what I'm currently doing the most work on. Hopefully what they do makes my job easier, not harder.
Sounds good, and thanks for working on this project for so long. I'll be spamming the refresh button! I hope they don't think i'm trying to DDoS them with the refreshes. xD
I've tried everything I can think of, go check out my video and tell me if I did anything wrong. Otherwise I've pretty much given up hope of trying to use this =[

So it can't be changed? Made less see-through?
EDIT: Didn't see that last page. So you're working on it then?

I believe it can if I do a bit more meddling with the rendering process. I'm working on it right now, actually.
