I got a question about the "solar recharging unit" you can put into the "mekasuit helmet".
I just love the concept and possibilitis of all those items, but the "solar recharging unit" doesn't seem to work.
I also installed the "Charge distribution unit" into the mekasuit chest piece.
But when i am out in the sun i still lose power regardless if i am turning the "solar recharging unit" on or off.
Do i just lose less energy or is this unit not functional at the moment?
ps: also two suggestions which would be awesome in my opionon: A gun or laser beam like weapon for ranged combat. The bow seems kinda... archaic.
And would it be possible to change the chargepads, so they don't got the vertical slap on the side? They are charged with power from below anyway and it would be much easier to create a grid to walk on. :-)

Hey, guys. I've been playing Mekanism v10 for the last week and I absolutely love it. However, since the version just came out, wiki is not updated yet on some new stuff, and I have a couple of questions. Would be terrific if you could help me.
I've build my fission reactor and fuel production chain. I understand that you can use the reactor in two ways: either passing water through it as a coolant, which gives you steam on the output; or pass sodium as coolant to get superheated sodium in return, which can in turn heat boiler to produce steam from water. Steam them goes to turbine, producing energy and giving back water, so you can build a closed water circuit, same goes for sodium and boiler. I tested both options and it turns out that they give exactly same energy output. Is this intended? What's the point in using sodium and boiler then?
Another problem with this setup: when turbine can no longer output power (its internal buffer and whatever it feeds energy to are full), it stops consuming steam or just dumps the excess, depending on what I choose in the interface. Problem is, in either case it also stops outputting water, and this breaks my closed water circuit. Even on small fuel injection rate and large water tank nearby the whole system quickly gets dry, and reactor overheats. It takes an insane amount of pumps to keep water flowing into reactor/boiler if none comes out of turbine, so that is hardly a solution. I'd rather keep producing energy at full speed and dump the excess, but I don't know how. Is there any way to do this?
Fission reactor outputs Nuclear Waste, which I process further with Solar Neutron Activator and Pressurized Reaction Chamber, getting Spent Nuclear Waste in the end. I understand that both kinds of waste must be stored in Radioactive Waste Barrel. Does it have capacity limit? There is no indication of capacity or how much waste is inside.
Help I can't get my metallurgic infuser to make steel. It has power and so forth. The two boxes on the left are highlighted yellow and red. I noticed when I was googling how to do this. Every photo and video shows the first box on the left being purple and not yellow. I can stick the ore in the red box just fine it starts to smelt down. just not the coal or charcoal into the yellow box to make the steel. I'm on the latest release of minecraft / using the latest release of this mod as well.
I LOVE this mod, really makes me think. My only complaint is the speed of the jetpack. If there was a way to throttle the flying speed, or make the hydrogen more efficient to decrease usage, that would make the mod perfect! (Please include the jetpack module for the suit)

Specifically the /give command with creative gas tanks with a certain gas in it. I am trying to give someone a gas tank of hydrogen chloride gas and not figuring out how to do it. I can give them the empty tank but not the gas.

You'll probably need to add some NBT tags to the item to get that to work.
I don't know which, but there are several tools that can help you figure out the exact NBT tags on an item. I have a bit of experience with NBT Explorer, which should let you easily view all of the contents of the inventories of players in a game's save files including the NBT tags.

Mekanism is kinda totally useless now as an ore processing mod.
Before this new functionality for the enrichment chamber, Mekanism was THE mod I went to for ore processing. Right out of the gate you can basically TRIPLE your production speed with the greatest thing in mekanism, FACTORIES. Factories are PHENOMENAL for just dumping your ore and getting them processed into ingots very quickly and in bulk. Or actually, they WERE. NOW, I assume because Mojang changed how ore drops work, no longer does the enrichment chamber take an ore and double it, which to be fair if fortune works on all ores now, not just gems, that's fine. No problems, a 25% increase is reasonable.
However, you CANNOT sacrifice function. NOW if you put a raw iron into the enrichment chamber, it does NOTHING. You HAVE to put 3 raw iron into that machine in order for it to convert that into 4 dust, that dust can then be smelted like normal. But that 3 iron requirement is a MASSIVE pain in the ass! Do you have ANY idea how mind numbingly annoying it is to make ANYTHING in this game, with ALL the mods at your disposal, place THREE of an item into something consistently without jamming it? THEN to repeat that with depending on your mod loadout, over a DOZEN different items!?
So annoying it would take someone suffering some manner of psychosis to actually do it! Especially EARLY GAME, it's LITERALLY impossible to do early on. The only way to stop any smelting system from getting blocked up is to have a unique line of machines for EVERY ore you want to process. Which is ludicrous at the start of the game and painstakingly aggravating even at the end! I know, I've done it before on a previous version. BEFORE the enrichment change.
Any machine you constantly need to babysit from the start of the game to the end ISN'T worth it. I don't care about 25% more iron, I just DON'T. If I was STILL doubling my ores, MAYBE but that would also fix the block anyway so there's no point even thinking about it. If the author wants to maintain 25% boosts to ore production, he should have the enrichment chamber turn ONE raw iron into ONE iron dust, then there's a percentage chance instead of getting one, you get TWO. Do that for each ore and voila, problem solved. Take 100 iron, run it through, and see what percentage most consistently nets you 125 iron ingots.
No matter how you look at it, if you put ANY amount of raw ores into a machine that is made to process raw ores, it should start spitting out the next step, whether an ingot or dust, whatever. If it stops working until it gets the correct AMOUNT of raw ore, then you've made a useless machine. If I run 3 different ores through this, and it just so happens I had enough ores to get down to TWO in each slot, the machine will stop and all the ores I mined aside from these three will just sit there doing absolutely nothing until I go to the machine, take out the raw ores, and clear up the system. Then it'll do it AGAIN because what are the odds every single resource you mine will be divisible by three? I may as well just scrap the enrichment chamber and only build the smelting factory and just forgo any bonuses. And since Mekanism starts with enrichment, there's no point in going down that tech tree, so that means I'm hardly going to use the mod full stop, which is a shame because it used to be so good.
First of all. This mod was created and updated by someone in their free time and provided to you/us free of charge. Please remember that and be thankful that the mod exists at all.
Secondly. In essence, this issue is caused by a change in vanilla MC and an existing principle of concepts in Mekanism:
1. Vanilla MC added the possibility to get multiple ingots from an ore using Fortune.
2. Mekanism doesn't use chance-based ore doubling (or partial outputs).
Some other mods used to give you a 10-50% chance on a second or third output or gave you an extra output exactly every Nth operation (EnderIO).
To stay balanced, true to this concept and compatible with Vanilla, I guess it is understandable that this was implemented as a 3 raw metal -> 4 metal ingot recipe.
That being said, I do agree with you that having to input a multiple of 3 of any input item in a machine you can and will constantly use to process more than say... 3 different inputs is tedious and unhelpful.
Perhaps this could be fixed by processing a single raw metal into 12 nuggets / tiny dusts or a different metal item that is worth 4/3rd of an ingot. I don't think that Mekanism machines typically have secondary output slots. Another possibility would be to allow crafting 3 raw metal into a "raw metal cluster" so you can more easily make sure that your ore inputs are in multiples of 3. There are already raw metal blocks which are multiples of 3 of multiples of 3 already. Does Mekanism allow you to process these raw metal blocks in its machines?
You should also be able to add such recipes yourself using configs or mods like MineTweaker and CraftTweaker.

Hi! Me and a friend have a server and we've just started Mekanism. We tried crafting steel casing, but it doesnt craft with all the necessary items in it. I think it might be a problem due to the fact that the recipe requires stuff from Immersive Engineering and Mekanism.
I'm experiencing game-killing framerate drops now that I've built up a x4 ore multiplication machine system. Its killing my gate - I can't get more than 3-5 FPS when near the thing.
I've poked around in the settings, and I found an old reddit thread
Problem is taht I can't find where in the settings for the mod I can disable all these things. Machine Effects is easy enough to spot and disable, but the ambient lighting thing - I can't find an option to disable it.
