Wow, this mod is amazing! Can I make a custom map with it? Also, when I tried to name the maid/other
traders on a anvil, it didn't work, could you fix this pleez?!
omg why no taming i mean come on griffons and the sphinx ghosts
second thing you have a large oppurtunity to put in curses and infections and for the vampire and werecat and maybe make the vampire bat a seperate bat than the regular minecraft bat like maybe make the vampire bat attack and maybe have it turn back into the vampire
just a suggestion that i'm sure you have heard a lot of
Sorry I have no plans to implement taming until Minecraft 1.6 is released. I might try to do it in 1.6, but I will not make any promises .
Sounds possible. Although it would probably have to be a mixture of current debuffs because I have no idea how to make my own nor do I have any plans to learn how to.
This is one of the best mods I've ever played with. To add some ideas I would add-
A rideable Centaur using a saddle
Tamable mobs (Like a Wolf)
A companion mob that follows you and fights with you.
Thanks!
I cannot find it in myself to make any of the female mobs tameble or ridable which is why I introduced Merchants/NPCs to compensate. I might try to implement it with non-female mobs but I currently have no plans to with all the changes I am making in terms of difficulty.
I'm curious can you suggest me a mod with models as detailed as yours with the same difficulty?
I am not sure to be honest. The reason why I made this mod was because back in Minecraft 1.2.5 I could not find any mod which made Minecraft difficult . I am not up-to-date with mob mods because this is the only mob mod I tend to use.
Also do you plan to add more youkai? Like Baku or jorogumo or anything in the youkai group?
Definitely. I might add an Oni and replace the Werecat and Spider Queen in the future. My current plan is to simply upgrade/replace what I already have instead of adding mobs in each update.

I have decided not to include Biomes O' Plenty or ExtraBiomesXL support in this update (aka BiomeDictionary support). Sorry about this sudden change in decision. I have been extremely busy working on a wiki to move all the information into along with adding a more detailed information to each mob. While transferring I noticed flaws in the mobs themselves which is also something I am focusing on now. I suggest using "Custom Mob Spawner" or "Just Another Spawner" for now.
It should be released within this week. This will be definitely my last update for Minecraft 1.5.2. Until Minecraft 1.6 is released I will be on break. In my next update I will work on a configurable difficulty setting and support to the mods stated above.
I don't know how this slid under my radar, it is a really awesome mod!!! Great job, Silentine!!! I saw your post above and was a little sad (I use Bop) but understanding as well. I do have mo'creatures and the custom mob spawner and been playing around with it. Just having trouble with water mobs(haven't seen a mermaid yet) when I add mermaids to the 'oceans' all seems to go bare for me, just nothing. So I took mermaids out of oceans and at least got my fish, shark, etc. back. I know the custom mob spawner has some issues right now and hopefully it will be fixed properly soon. I do seem to have everything else spawning properly throughout my world!!!YAY!! And all the mobs are great!!! They're fast, tough, and quite challenging-VERY COOL!! I haven't seen them all yet, but I'll get there!!! This mod is staying with me for as long as you are updating it, really awesome job!! Thank you Silentine for all your hard work and great creativity!!!

PS I don't know if its just me but when I encounter any chochin obakes, when and only when they throw fireballs I freeze/lag very badly, other than that all is great so far(can't wait to encounter the rest)
I don't know if this isa bug or a feature, but I tried the Millenaire mod - which adds new villages and new (named) villager NPCs that can be interacted with for quests.
Problem: the Gaia creatures that are typically neutral to the player treated the villagers as hostiles and attacked and killed them.

I will definitely try to get BoC working in my next update. I have been spending too much time on this mod recently and I have neglected a few things in real life.
Mermaid, along with Ocean mobs in this mob, only spawn under the Ocean, not in it.
I have not encountered this issue yet. Noted. Thanks for reporting this.

Defintely not a feature.
A few updates back when I was still using Millenaire they would never attack villagers. It is either because I made it so these mobs will attack anyone who hits them, or Millenaire made it so that the NPC are to be treated like players. Sadly this is not in my hands anymore.
Oni's do we get red and blue :3?Like Red male Blue female or reversed?
Most likely the common, Red. And most likely a muscular male. Although it never came across me to add a female one until you said it. Maybe a female version could act like a random merchant in the Nether.
Released Grimoire of Gaia 2 (1.5.0)! This update is mostly focused on adding new items. I enjoyed adding items in the last update so I decided to add more! A few adjustment to the mobs here and there are included. Also: Garden Gnomes.
Along with this update I worked on putting up a wiki. Managing the information in the first post has been rather a challange and I was unable to add complete details to both mobs and items because it was convoluted and in complete chaos. This wiki should help me provide a necessary means of listing down each detail properly and efficiently. I can now rest easily knowing that I do not need to worry everytime I edit the first post I might erase everything by mistake!
As always any comments or criticism are well appreciated.
Please refer to the changelog for more information.
I have to ask. Why do you keep changing the default IDs with each patch?
I'll be honest it is an OCD thing; I usually match up similar items or colors. But because I added an item called "Meat Morsel" I needed it to be beside the Meat item. Seeing similar items in completely different places within the Creative Menu makes me feel uneasy. I will avoid doing this in the future. I hope.
I guess that also explains why I only make items along the numbers 2, 3 and 4.
I realize you've said you will not update again for a while, so this is merely something to think about in the meantime...
Your underground mobs, they (ideally) do not care about which biome they spawn in, right? I mean for mobs like the Mimic, or the Spider Queen. If this is true, do you think you can force at least those ones to spawn in every single biome?
My experience is limited to a poor, brute-force method which finds every single biome ID and adds the mob to the spawn list. I have had mixed success with Biome's Of Plenty- I often see my mob in a number of BoP areas, but also don't see them in other areas. Perhaps BoP forcefully prevents mobs from spawning in certain biomes.
Anyways, the information about the new update looks interesting. Adding armor to all the mobs suddenly makes it that much more worthwhile that I get a armor-piercing sword. Just don't change the item IDs for the shards, which most people will have a lot of and will NOT want to have changed into a new item (or maybe that's just me).
Only notcided the update now! I opened a page and "*Can't remember*Blablabla Wiki" I was like: "wHAT?!? A wiki for this mod!? O_O" Damm Silentine you're quite a busy bee!
PS:*Troll Face* Still no embigning or animation for the harpy's wings?
Making that wiki took up all my time . I am taking a long break after all of this.
I am not sure what animation you are referring to. They do shake their wings, right?

Ideally, yes. But they do have biome requirements. I could not find a method to add them to every biome in one fell swoop. My solution? Add every biome to them.
The is the reason why I did not add BoC support was because I could not find a method to add the Underground mobs in all biomes. I got it working with all the other mobs except the Underground ones. But I then realized after you suggested it that I could have simply added them along with each mob in each biome .
They already had armor, just at different values. After working on the wiki I realized the mobs had uneven armor values and some had none at all. I think the reason why the were uneven to begin with was because ages ago I lowered the armor value with ranged/magical mobs. I will definitely not change the shard itemID except for the Nether Star Shard and that is only if Mojang adds any new ore/gems.
Sorry I have been gone for so long everyone. ^.^" I have been offline applying for jobs since I have recently moved, so I haven't had any time to myself really. ^-^" But I am still planning on making the Grimoire Pages like I said I would, and I am going to be updating so I can do the newly added mobs from 1.5.2 also (since all my other mods seem to have updated already while I was gone.)
Also, I was wanting to thank you for adding Gnome and the Chochin-Obake that I requested. :3 Hope to see Ignis, Sylph, and Undine (and maybe a player friendly version of Chochin-Obake) some time in a future update. :3
And one last thing, on the wiki page, could you add a way to find certain mobs by there name instead of their Biome? Like a Alphabetical List? This would make it much easier on my to make the Pages because then I don't have to search through a hundred pages to find the next Mob , since I am doing them in Alphabetical Order...
Can you add support for Extrabiomes XL and Biomes O' Plenty? (I tried that config file in first post, but its so bad, there are creeper girls everywhere (there are like 20 outside of my house), and it fu..s up mo' creatures, im getting like 30-40 of some mobs (turtles, rats, etc.))
He already said that Mod Boime Support is not coming for quite some time. And that config is a bit old, back when there was actually Creeper Girls that tried to kill you in the mod, so I would not be surprised about the Creeper Girls every thing (since they both used the same Entity Name like the current Slime Girls do, which is why you sometimes find a random peaceful Slime Girl in Swamps...).
traders on a anvil, it didn't work, could you fix this pleez?!

I think you could add an achievement after slaying a lv 3 monster for Example:
>I am the Pharaoh
Slay the Sphinx
>Bullseye!
Slay the Minotaur
>The Dark Knight
Slay the Vampire
>Fallen Angel
Slay the Valkyrie
[ > The Achievements
How to get it ]

Silentine has said he'll look into taming/riding mobs for 1.6.
