Put down a trap with a mining laser, and then jumped around it while peppering the golem with flame wand. It was tough, but coherent light combined with arcane fire felled it after an epic combat!

It can be little like a hamster, but just add something more other than a succubus and the ender dragon girl to the nether.
I plan to in the future. Maybe a cerberus or an imp. I want to balance out the biomes in the variety of mobs which spawn in one. Having one biome spawn a single mob while the other has two seems quite uneven. That and I have a thing with numbers not being even.
you could make them similar to endermen where they will attack you if you look at them. since they are supposed to be the "princess" you could give them that sort of not allowed to look at them thing.
also here are some a mob ideas. hydra, chimera and the dark knight like the one from Monty python where you can remove its limbs. Undine the water spirit. also maybe some thing like these guys edit: if images show up broken click URL to see them
But other than that, the mod is extremely cool I finally found some interesting challenge. Glad to see the instakill will go away in the next update, as you say
Changed the damage in my latest release 1.0.8. The Winged Dispensers are the main cause on why Golems seem overpowered. Golems technically use the same attack damage as an Iron Golem. I did not increase the high nor damage.
Had to make this due to the fact he is made from stone which also makes him immune to fire. Arrows and fire are ineffective on stone-like and Level 4 mobs.
it should be updated soon since forge has updated to 1.3.2 so a lot of mods that use it have been updating to but that really depends on the modder
I am waiting for the major mods to update [Mo Creatures, Industrial Craft, etc.]. In the mean time I am taking a break and testing out what changes I need to make.
Every time I release an update there is bound to be at least a new mob or a remodel/retexture. I want to keep my updates a bit interesting by adding new things instead of bug fixes or adjustments alone.
Just a quick question, is there a way to disable the female versionfs of the zombies, spiders, creepers and enderman? I'm really enjoying the mod but I'm not seeing many other monsters since the areas I've seen have been filled up with both versions of those basic enemies. I'm not sure how Minecraft mob spawning works but I assume if the game spawns lots of standard mobs and then the female versions there won't be much chance of seeing either one of the new enemies or something from Mo' creatures for example?
Sadly not yet. I have yet to go into creating a config file for mob spawns. It has been requested many times but I still feel I need to work on the main mod (bugs, adjustments) before adding additional and foreign code.
I myself do not not how Minecraft mobs spawn. I always assumed that in every chunk there is a maximum set spawn limit. That is why I am currently reworking and experimenting on spawns depending on the world height to make full use of this limit.
Are you planning to add sounds as well? I imagine you'll get a lot of volunteers for voicing the monsters' sounds if you ask here or search for a voice acting forum for example
Not really sure at the moment. If I was really into this project I would rip sounds from videos instead.

i have a problem... whenever i try to have optifine ( hd a2 ) and Grimoire of Gaia installed at the same time... 1 of these 2 things hapoen:
- optifine doesn't work but i can see the images of the items from the Grimoire of Gaia mod.
- optifine works but all grimoire of gaia weapons tools etc are INVISIBLE.
What am i doing wrong?...
plz reply soon, i wanna use this mod but i need optifine for MC to be playable.

Oh one last thing, it doesn't crash just one of the mods fails to work properly.

I am afraid I do not know what may be causing the problem. I myself do not use Optifine due to past experiences with it conflicting with other mods I have installed. Without an error log I cannot determine what may be causing the error.
My only solution is to not use the items this mod includes. This can be done by deleting the mod_grimoireore located within the .zip.
Is there a reason you haven't made mob eggs yet? It would definitely help in testing the mobs... and it's pretty much the easiest thing to code.
Speaking of testing mobs, are you sure you fixed the elves ear? lol
It now not only points the wrong way, but it's backwards too. Did you just flip it 180? :V

I am not really sure why I have not added mob eggs yet. I usually use Single Player Commands and NEI to test mobs out. Adding mob eggs feels like it may take up too much space in the Creative and NEI menus. I guess that may be a reason why Mo' Creatures and More Creeps and Weirdos do not use spawn eggs. At least when I last used them.

are you still thinking about adding the Holstaurus? it'd be interesting to have a cowgirl in a farm of cows. hell she could talk with them and manage them for you. XD obviously not going to be in the mod. just my mind running wild. like it usually does... :3 but yeah, i like the idea of the special milk that gives you potion effects. the potion effects could be.... Regeneration I for 30 seconds. Strength II for one minute. and Resistance II for one minute. not as much as the new golden apple. but it's still a good thing. and it wouldn't be stackable either. so you could only carry like one at a time. and with those effects you could make the Holstys non-breedable. unless you want them to mate with a minotaur... but you can't tame them now can you?

I am honestly really having doubts about the milk idea. I already made the icon though .
I think it's already pretty much popular... After all, I know about it and use it! And this is the main measure of popularity I use
But jokes aside, it has 150k+ views, which is pretty decent for a relatively new mod.

I would be lying if I claimed views or popularity did not concern me as it does motivate me to update the mod but in the end I simply want to add to the game what I feel is missing and that is harder mobs and female mobs. As long as I am capable of updating, I will update .
I'd suggest updating it to 1.3.2 as soon as possible, rather than waiting for the other mods. It'll definitly be more popular if people can use it in SMP I'm still using 1.2.5 myself, but I think it's wise to update sooner rather than later.
The reason why I have not updated this to 1.3.2 yet is because I am encountering an error, to be specific a memory max issue in Minecraft when I run the mod.
At this point of time I want to see if it is because ModLoader is still buggy, something is missing in the code (maybe SMP code) or the current version of Minecraft has memory issues with handling many mobs (because I have yet to see Mo Creatures or More Creeps and Weirdos updating yet). It is most likely the former two as there are already new mods available which use ModLoader 1.3.2.
Hmm, just throwing this out there, but your cactus mob lacks a bit of... FF7?
I was going to add more physical characteristics but in the end I wanted them to blend in with the environment.
On a side note I have yet to play FF7 so I cannot really relate it to the Cactuar. The mobs which I referenced on video games (such as the Naga, Warcraft 3) are usually games I have played myself in the past.

So many things I want to add, so little time. My only limitation is that I do not have the time nor patience to implement all of them.

the spawn egg girls? they follow you if you hold the stuff. they do not act like vanilla pets.
