Queen Ant and Ant mobs. More like a Queen Ant boss mob and Warrior/Worker ants which spawn underground. After experimenting with the Dwarf and Dullahan spawns I feel I should make more variation underground. The deeper you go the more deadly it becomes. I might also make mobs which only spawn at high altitudes (such as the sky). My only limit is the height of the underground itself (64 y-axis I believe).
I am also planning to prevent a few night mobs from spawning too deep underground (such as the Naga) because it does not make much sense that it spawns deep underground. Maybe around 75% nearer to the surface instead.
They are set to despawn to keep the area (or chunks) in constant motion. Like the vanilla Minecraft mobs when you leave an area they despawn. This is essential because if they do not despawn new mobs will not spawn (due to limit) and that night mobs will remain after the sun has risen.
I have been wondering, is there a way to make certain mobs spawn during the day? Like certain hostile and passive mobs? Like being about to have Backpack Steve spawn during the day...
The only way I can think of is to use a mod which can keep the chunks active even after you have left the area. One mod I know of is the block World Anchor from the Railcraft mod. What it does is it keeps the area around the World Anchor active even if you are no longer in range. I have not tested it myself and if you are interested in it I suggest reading it up .
Railcraft, Thaumcraft, RedPower, and a addon for Buildcraft are the ones I know have chunk loaders/World Anchors in them, but mods will despawn after A.) A set amount of time (sometimes Skeley, spiders, etc will disappear from right infront of you.) or B.) The player moves "Out Of Range" if the mob, and will despawn after a set amount of time.

If you keep on with this line of development, this mod may wind up becoming similar to Mo'Creatures in scale
You could, perhaps (if you can figure out how to code them in) make the queen ant spawns into mini-dungeons around the lower part of the map, with the ants eating through stone blocks to reach the player?
Mod ideas in my profile info! Send me a message or post in one of the threads if you're interested.
To touch Divinity, one must first be prepared to brave reality.
I have been wondering, is there a way to make certain mobs spawn during the day? Like certain hostile and passive mobs? Like being about to have Backpack Steve spawn during the day...
Yes. Most of the basic mobs (or Level 2 mobs) spawn during the day while tougher mobs spawn during the night.

I never knew Thaumcraft and RedPower had chunk loaders. What is the block/item in RedPower?

Just adding what I feels needed to be added. I always enjoyed the exploration or thrill of digging deeper and expecting to find something interesting at the bottom.
That would be quite nasty and destructive. What I plan to do is divide the layer up (64) into 3 parts. Basically ants would spawn at the top layer (32-64), Dwarves spawn in the middle layer (16-48) and Dullahan (and other future mobs) spawn in the bottom (1-34). I really wish Minecraft was more deeper.
Again, these are ideas at the moment. I still need to focus on releasing my 1.1.0 update (1.0.8 currently).

well there's a seal that allows a chunk to be loaded for as long as the seal is active. which is useful for Farms and such. and Fryo also put that pic on her skype. i don't find it scary actually. XD but if she ever puts Smile.jpg on... imma be screaming constantly when i'm messaging her and Oswarlan (we usually talk in a group). >.<

I only realized that there was an actual method to keep chunks constantly loaded. I guess that is the result of not experimenting enough with mods. Mostly because I tend to start a new game the day after I make one.
thats bad, guess i have to wait cuz getting minecraft to work with my mods was luck and i never get it working again with my mods if i downgrade, cant eaven use forge, for its too complicated to install and forge breaks all my other mods too
You basically only need Forge and Audiomod (for other mods which use it). Forge has a built-in modloader so it is not required to install Modloader along with Forge.
I honestly have no idea when I will release a 1.3.x version; the other major mods seem to not have released any details about it. But I will be releasing my version (1.0.8 for MC 1.2.5) by the end of this week after I get a few tasks and assignments done... hopefully.
For some reason, I think it would be interesting if you could give cookies to the Vampires to stop them from attacking. :V
Also, are the Winged Dispensers supposed to insta-kill you? I don't think the Stone Golem that threw me into the air insta-killed me, so how did the little flying-yet-not-really-flying shooty-box-thing do so? :X

It does but I honestly do not know. Vampires were originally suppose to be "princess" like. That would explain the Maids and Butlers. If you gave them cookies it does not really make them feel like they have a high standard . Then again if they had a high standard they would not attack you head on and get their hands dirty. Maybe I should make them passive.

Yeah they are not suppose to. They are simply suppose to act as a support. I will adjust it in my next update.
Awesome mod!
but is there a way to make it work on a online server? cs i'd really love to play this mod with my friend
Thanks.
I have no idea at the moment. If you are asking SMP then I am afraid it cannot work on an online server. Yet.
I am still in the dark concerning the mod features of MC 1.3.x. You are supposedly be able to use Single Player mods on LAN but if you have Hamachi installed (which acts like a LAN connection) you can play Single Player mods over the internet. Again, I am simply speculating. I have not done any research on it.

It's always the ones who have high standards that are the first to cave to sweet sugary goodness. :3
Here's an idea: What if a maid or butler could hold an umbrella over the Vampire to stop her from burning in the day?
Although you'd have to change the maid/butler model to include an umbrella...

I actually had the same exact idea, except it would be the Vampire herself holding the umbrella. She would use it when a certain light level is reached.
I've tried that but I can't get mods working on 1.3.1 as not even modloader works for me on 1.3.1 0.o
does someone know how to get modloader working on 1.3.1?
I have not even tried using 1.3.1 with mods yet. I do not know but I feel like Modloader and Forge are not really ready for 1.3.1 yet. Maybe their release for 1.3.2 will be less buggy.
Basically it is a bunch of tweaks. Fixed the Ender Girl error and a ID conflict. I also added sounds when mobs take damage (basic damage sound). Also changed the chest system though I have not thoroughly tested it if it would unbalance the game.
I have also included ExtraBiomesXL support. Mobs now spawn in the mods biomes but sometimes they do not. I am assuming this may be due to the amount of objects in a biome (the same reason why I need to quadruple the spawn rates in Swamps). It is rather messy at the moment.
there is no way. there is are DIFFERENT mobs that look like them in creative mode spawned by a spawn egg that will follow you if you hold a certain item.
Btw can i ask something? I've been playing the mod this whole time but I still haven't undertood how to tame a creeper or ender girl, how does that happen?
It is exactly as jwdjwd said, they are a different mob. You cannot tame them.
However they themselves can drop a spawn egg (rare drop) and it is not limited to Creative Mode. Basically a Creeper Girl has a chance to drop a Creeper Girl egg, which spawns a Peaceful Creeper Girl, an peaceful version of the mob. Same applies to the Ender Girl.
In the future I plan to add more but they all will basically only be based on their vanilla Minecraft counterparts (Skeleton, Spider, Slime etc.)
Are you still thinking about the thing I said about the harpys?! Can you make the hapys wings bigger and the body & legs smaller?(make them detct you 30\35 blocks away if you're holding any type of food in your hand. plz)
It may sound easy to do but the coding involved is presently out of my reach. I need to maintain the correct (present) proportions of the Harpies body unless I want to make her look distorted. I do agree with the wings but sadly I honestly do not want to touch it because I hate texturing wings .
The reason why she avoids water is due to a animation bug involving the AI which makes her avoid the player. Basically when a Mermaid falls into water she just jumps up and down, like she is struggling to breath. Aside from this she no longer avoids the player when in water. Instead of trying to figure a way out I simply removed the bug itself by making her avoid water.

I had an almost full set of Void Armor from Thaumcraft2, enchanted to the max (Protection from Fire, Blasts, Protection IV, whatever). And it took 2 seconds for one of them to kill me when I attacked the golem.
I probably took two hits, not one But it happened so insanely fast, I couldn't react. Took my 10 hearts in a blast. This is a big no no!
But other than that, the mod is extremely cool I finally found some interesting challenge. Glad to see the instakill will go away in the next update, as you say
why did you attack the golem in the first place? seeing as they are passive and can make good protection form other mobs.
also best advice for fighting golems is using distance weapons like arrows. don't try fighting it with melee.
Edit: No matter. Went to the tower for "scientific equipment". High powered portable laser with red lenses and a wand of fire. Subject walked away or despawned upon return - waiting for the concurrent nocturnal cicle to commence experiments...
golems where intentionally made hard to kill because they are supposed to defend the area from hostile mobs. that why its not a good idea to pick a fight with them.if you angered one by accented my best advice is to use lots of tnt or just die/run away.
I know, but it was the way you worded it XD
Oh, that sound interesting :3
Yup, that's the point... I was thinking about doing Smile Dog, but decided against it.

It uses Modloader and Forge has a built in modloader function.
I have never seen such an error before and I assume it may be due to using Minecraft 1.3.1 (or 1.3.2) because both mod_files are causing the error.
This mod is currently for Minecraft 1.2.5 only.
