Welcome back to the land of the living
I'm kind of in the middle of waiting for mods to be released/updated, so I haven't really been playing MC that much. Also the 1.6 update is around the corner, and I don't want to miss out on the loot it adds. So yeah, my excuse for not using this mod currently >_>
Your mobs dont seem to spawn properly in Biomes from the "Biomes O' Plenty" Mod. Can you add that?
I believe Silentine was going to look into using the Forge Biome dictionary (which BoP uses to tag its biomes) for the next update. You can correct me if I'm wrong, Silentine. (Half of that is just me hoping that'll happen >_>)
No, Silentine is not planning on adding any Armor or weapons. When there was armor and weapons last time, it caused more issues then they were worth, and made updating to new versions of Minecraft more of a hassle. If you are having trouble fighting the mobs from this mod, I suggest adding a another mod that adds better weapons (which is highly suggested on the OP), or learn to fight the new mobs using different tactics then you are currently using. ;P
Use Mo Creatures CMS spawning system, or Project Zulu's JAS spawning system, or Davydees MSC spawning system and you can make any mob or creature from any mod spawn wherever you want - on any biome from any biome creating mod such as BOP or EBXL. Through CMS I currently have everything from Gaia spawning on BOP without problem. Though some are pretty tough for starting players or low level games - Gaia could use a config of some sort to set their hits and damage given to suit.
Here's something funny that you may be able to do: In 1.6 make it so that Centaurs act like Horses. Cept if you fail to tame them they throw you off and attack you. Then if you do successfully tame them... woo you have a centaur as a horse? Idk, it'd be funny to see someone try and tame a centaur. Maybe they could throw you off a bit farther than normal horses.

I think their pride wouldn't allow for them to be ridden as a steed. Or at least that seems to be a common theme.

Yeah, but think of the effectiveness if you did. You ride in on a Centaur while firing arrows at your enemies, and then after you jump off, you've got a sword and so does your "steed". Victory ensues.
Or maybe, if the Centaur can attack mobs while you're riding it, you could wade into battle attacking different targets simultaneously.
Think of all the plausiblilities!
I think the process for riding a Centaur wouldn't be like horses, where you just sort of break them in, you'd have to actually tame them somehow; and then comes the epic death runs together. Or, the more lame but more plausible way for this to happen, Silentine just adds a rare drop from Centaurs (an also craftable scroll, like from the boss mobs) that spawns a Centaur that acts like a regular horse; derpish, helpless, and all.

Black as the shadow that yet remains and Red for the blood that runs in our veins.

exactly what i was thinking, but ya know... Silentine keeps complaining about his own low ability to code... so i wanted to make something simple... come to think of it, making the scroll would be a bit easier. but if the centaur attacked mobs on it's own, it would cause riding issues, cause it would try to go toward the mob while you try to go away from it. unless that would be disabled.
It's hard to fight those monsters when they remind you so much of a specific anime character.....
And very nice update!!
Been hiding in an underwater base since i downloaded the mod....
I can't bring my self to kill those cute looking monsters......
but if they will try to kill me i could just throw some grenades at them.
I have loved this mod for a very long time and I would like permission to add this to a public modpack. Do not worry I will not get money from this. And I hope for a reply from you and also thank you for reading this.
I love the look and feel of these mobs, however, I wish there was a "weaker" version of each, so i could have them spawn in my world without having to make them so rare you'll never see them.
maybe you could give the dryad teh same abilities as the Ars magica mod dryad, since they seem almost the same, making them follow you if you have a sappling in the hand, and making then to grow plant when they step on it
Wish I knew how. Besides I want to avoid making them feel similar because I want a bit more variety. Consider them a different species or race.

It was suppose to be in this update. I thought it was an automatic thing when adding biomes in the new Forge . I will further check into it in my next update.
a suggestion, would it be possible to make the vampire attack nearby villagers to heal herself for substantial amount of life (sort of to make her "feed off them"), and maybe even turn them into zombies on their death from feeding if possible?
also maybe they could try hiding from sunlight rather than rushing out into daylight and killing themselves, similar to zombies/skeletons.
Villagers usually hide inside buildings. I would have to make it so that she can break down Wooden Doors. Also during a battle she will probably only target you until you are dead and despawn/disappear if attempted to be fought again.
She should be hiding from the sunlight. I will check into it.

I could add a "peaceful version" (thinking around a Unicorn version) of the Centaur which is a rare drop similar to a scroll. Probably not be able to attack or anything (unless they make it so that the Zombie/Skeleton horses are tamable and capable of attacking).
They are still adding things to 1.6 so I cannot really promise anything until it is finalized and released. For all I can assume it could be completely impossible for me to implement it .
Somehow adjusting the spawn rates doesnt help much. no matter what setting, my plains are always filled with centaurs (billions) which lets cows, sheep and chickens totally disappear..
could someone explain plz?
(i use no biomes mods)
I have no idea how could happen. Maybe sharing a list of mods you use can help us determine the problem.

Sadly enough most of them are aggressive and will probably hunt you down.

Adding an "Easy Mode" in the config is on my list of things-to-do in the future. The only solution for the current difficulty is either make them rarer (which you have already done), set the game to Easy or add better mods which increases combat efficiency.

A detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows:

EDIT: They said the slime girl didn't disappear when they killed her, but the server crashed soon after. They were using a weapon from Tinkerers Construct.

Yeah, I don't like dropping it to easy, cause I like how normal has hunger consequences... (easy kinda slaps you on the wrist and isn't hard enough. XD)
Glad to hear its in the plans. :]
I don't mind having them as rare... I just wish they dropped something more substantial so my server users feel more accomplished when they actually take on one of these toughies.

This also happened to me today, I deactivated slime girl spawns to counter this.
I haven't experimented with time yet, but I would assume that one might be able to restrict mob spawning by time passed.
You would have to change the Spawning conditions to allow for another check, this one where it would check the elapsed world time (which I am pretty sure there is a World or Chunk method to return this value), and only allowing spawning once the time is greater than, say, 18000, which I believe would be midnight the first day?
However, if one had cheats enabled and liked setting the time to day or something similar, that would screw up things. Similarly, I am not sure if Mystcraft ages are considered starting at time 0 each time they are made, or whether or not one would *want* to restrict spawning in other dimensions, as one would ideally be suited up in Iron armor or better before experimenting with the Nether or other dimensions (and therefore more capable).
mm, the mod monsters are spawning on the stone slabs, they keep spawning in my house because of this
Well, any mod, even vanilla ones, can spawn on Stone Slabs if it is dark enough, though only on the upper half ones or double half slabs. So as long as it is dark in the area where the slabs are, any mob that spawns in the dark can spawn there.
I'm using Grimoire of Gaia in my current Let's Play. It's still early days, and without armour, Valkyrie can really give you a bad day. I spend a lot of time hiding from them and the Griffons in my Extreme Hills biome home.
But it's a balancing act. If they weren't death on a stick for someone with no armour and a stone sword, they'd not be any threat later on.
If there was some way to have the nastier ones not appear for the first few days, that'd be great, but I don't know if that's something that's even possible.
I, myself, found that it is much easier to start of in Plains, Forests, or Ice plans, mainly because the day mobs for those ares are ether peaceful, or won't be able to rape-face you in two hits. Only thing about those biomes is that really powerful mobs spawn at night there, though if you built a base before nightfall, you should be ok.

Well, I only caught part of that, but regarding the Time in newly created Mystcraft Ages, the starting time is based on the Overworld's current time, or, so far as I can tell.

As long as they're peaceful, having hostile mobs in the Mushroom Island biome kinda defeats the purpose. Also, I had no clue you could do that rainbow thing until now.
