What this mod does:
This mod allows you to connect to an IRC channel and listen to the chat and also participate in the chat from in-game, also works in multiplayer
How it works:
on the IRC you can simply talk and everyone In-Game with this mod can hear you and if you're in-game simply type your message in the chat line to send it to the irc
commands:
In-game key binds:
U - toggles the chat line (change the key bind if its the same as you multiplayer chat key bind)
Tab - auto completes a players name that you were typing.
Up/Down - scrolls the chat messages in the gui
chat line commands in-game:
/irc - toggles the ability to recieve messages from irc
/commands - toggles the ability for others to use commands on you(rocket, thunder, etc...)
/private - toggles the ability to receive private messages
/users - displays all the users in the channel
/send - used in multiplayer to send text to the irc
/priv - sends a private message to target person
/ignore - ignores the target person
/rocket - rockets a person into the air(creative only)
/thunder - makes thunder in persons world
/creeper - plays creeper sound in persons world
/add - adds a target player to your friends list
/remove - removes a target player from you friends list
/give {name} {itemID} {amount} - give the target an item (must have this item in your inventory)
/trade - turns the ability to recieve items off
/join {channel} - joins a channel (leave out the #)
IRC commands(don't put in the <>):
/msg - private message someone on in game
/msg rocket - rockets the person into the air(creative only)
/msg thunder - hopefully scares the person with loud thunder
/msg creeper - plays creeper sound

Q: How do I change channels?
A: Go to .minecraft/mods/duke605/configIRC.txt and change the channel.
Q: When I change the channel in my configIRC.txt it doesn't work, what am I missing?
A: Some mods, like Multi MC change your file directory. I am working on a fix that will tell you the path to the configIRC.txt file and will automatically make the file if it's not found.
Q: The mod works fine and I see chat by when I type it freezes minecraft, what do I do?
A: This is a very common problem. You forgot to drag the resources folder in the Socialite.zip file into your .minecraft folder. Simply do that and it will not freeze anymore.
Q: When I press the button to open the Socialite GUI it doesn't open, what do I do?
A: This mod, for whatever reason, does not work with zombe's mod pack, if you have it you will have to uninstall it, sorry :(. If you do not have zombe's mod pack, make sure you have modloader installed.
Q: I have Magic Launcher, do I have to install this manually or can I do it through magic launcher?
A: You can install this manually but you can also do it through Magic Launcher. Instructions for Magic Launcher are down below.
Q: Whenever I have this mod the Mojang loading screen is always very slow. What gives?
A: It is slow because in the background you are connecting to the IRC which can take some time depending on your computer. Just be patient.
Q: I keep getting the black screen, what did I do wrong?
A: Make sure you have the version of minecraft that this mod is currently made for. If you do have the proper version then make sure you have deleted you META-INF in your minecraft.jar
Q: How do I use the commands?
A: Instructions for command usage are above.
Good mod, but it has a questionable release. Try fixing (most) of the bugs, then re-release.
Wait what? what bugs? the only thing that isn't added yet is the talking back from in game and that's not a bug, I just don't know how to do it yet, there are still fun stuff you can do with it like if you're in the IRC channel you can have fun with the commands and do stuff to people in game
edit: and i tested this mod, it seems to work. i was in a channel, your default channel that i switched to minecraft manually with the cfg file included(which i dont think worked). very nice mod! keep up the good work.

What version are you using v0.2.1? cause its fixed in that version
ya i got 0.2.1. i reinstalled it again just to check. same result. im in channel socialite instead of channel 'mnky' (which i set in configIRC and yes i set it w/o the # as per your instructions in the txt file) ?possibly it's not finding the file & therefore using default instead?
?the file problem could possibly because linux only understands / and not / or \ like windows does? when getting/setting/using folders?
also i have a bug, maybe because of my java version or my OS(linux) but when i hit enter it seems to accept that im done typing immediately. so i hit enter and it responds no text to send. it only works sometimes. i can make it work by typing keys while hitting enter to try to 'catch' it and then i can type and send a message the way it's meant to work.
edit: (on a reload running a different world this bug did not occur. still not loading in alternate channel though)

Ya that might just be cause you're running linux :/ i don't know how to program for other os's and as for the hitting enter and doing no text sent, thats Notch not me i used his code

(i suppose i should just test it myself)
edit: no /join doesn't work. also changing the default channel in configIRC.txt doesn't seem to change the channel either.
