Update -8888h, Vanilla Launcher, Forge 10.13.2.1291. New World. No mods (not even NEI or Waila).
*Using map initially does NOT cause a crash. Leads me to a "Forgotten Sentinel"/Colossus. With an Iron pick, full diamond (not enchanted) armor, after about 5-10 minutes of jumping up pillars of dirt, I defeated him/it. Got 4 Crystalline Dark Iron, a Logic Matrix: Identifier, a Logic Matrix Programmer, and about 27 Collosal Mask blocks.
I have to say, the Colossus/Sentinel guy is one of the coolest new things I've seen.
So that's where the colossus thing came from. I thought it was part of Twilight Forest because that's where I found one. Unfortunately, after I tried to mine that thing in its chest it just bent over then bugged out so I couldn't interact with it anymore.
Good to see some of those other fixes. That map crash was really bugging me. Now if only I could find dark iron ore legitimately. xD

The Dark Iron ore doesn't seem to work with the TC smeltery. Was this intentional to stop ore-doubling? We were going to manually add compatibility, but wanted to check considering the rarity of it. We're not in the habit of making things easier for people.
so i found and engaged a dark iron colossus in hopes of killing it but sadly it is stuck and i cannot get at its weak point. also it seems to be disappearing and reappearing every once in a while.
I would like to include Factorization in my modpack, Shaireshot, which will be a mainly all around pack with a bit of astechic focus. It will use Factorization for many of the machines and ores. The modpack will be found on the FTB launcher as unlisted but will have a whitelisted server.
I still can't seem to find any dark iron and I feel like I'm doing something extremely wrong but I have no idea what that is. I've gone through the config and made sure anything related to the Dark Iron was enabled like regular generation and retro-generation. The config has an option for a retrogen key and it says default but I have no idea what the default key is or how to change the default key (I don't know what to put in place of "DEFAULT" in the config). I've looked through anything that seemed related in the config but I still can't get dark iron to spawn. Can anyone tell me what this key is and what it does?
I did end up finding spots in-game that spawned Factorization blasted bedrock but still no dark iron (picture below in spoiler).
I've mined a few areas just like that but still nothing. I've made sure I'm mining between y1-5. I've beaten the colossus (it exploded and everything).
I've even made new worlds, using both Standard and Biomes-O-Plenty terrain generation options and I couldn't find dark iron in either.
I must be doing something insanely wrong but I have no idea what. D: I'm currently installing finder compass and configuring it to see if it will show any dark iron ore at all.
If any has answers, any help is much appreciated. I've resorted to just giving myself 1 dark iron ore per draconian ore that I find but I'd really like to just get it fixed somehow.

It's extremely rare (I know, duh). I plopped down Mekanism's digital miner and it found 12 in a 32 block radius (16 chunks!). I have not successfully found any the hard way.

so i found a colossus, and its worth noting that i use smart moving in my mod pack, now after i break the initial glowy block thing on the colssus all ther other block are no clipped. cant break them like they dont have a bounded box. weird stuff.
is it as i suspect that the renderAPI/smart moving bits are breaking the colossus?
when i get too close to it, the body disapears and the arms/legs are al i see

This technically is a 'bug report' about the license.
In D2, it says "

When in D3 it says "

These too contradict each other, as D2 says you have to mention the modpack, and D3 says you cannot mention the modpack!
However, I realized I am making a private modpack, so I can just use clause A.
The Twisted Dark Iron Block is a little buggy when it comes to interacting with it - after placing one I was able to put a couple blocks on it and rotated it a bit, but I then wasn't able to interact with it or the blocks on it to break them. Reloading the save fixed it.
The colossus seems to be broken on my server. I break one weak spot and the colossus becomes transparent at certain views and you cannot interact with it. Even If i can get the second weak spot it never comes alive and there aren't any more weak spots. and when he is damaged it seems to somehow make it difficult to log into world anywhere near him...
Hello there. I'm currently compiling a possibly public mod pack and I would like the permission to use your mod. It's just a simple, tech/nature/magic based mod pack and I think Factorization would be an amazing contribution to it. A link to this thread will be available and you will get full credit for your mod.

to assemble a lot of mods, I deliberately left these 3 mod.
because what that fourth mod fixes this bug (but a lot of mods and look for a long time)

make sure your using a proper build of IC2 experimental. since greg depends on ic2 and greg 5.* needs => a specific version of experimental.
