Just a another question/suggestion.Would you be addind stairs to this mod and if so could you you take the iron bars and make stairs from them?I'm in the early stages of building a city and I'm sure lote of people have made cities I need metal stairs to make proper fire escapes so the fire inspector doesn't cite me for a violation lol. It would be cool if you could do something like that.Thanks...
I'm fixing up some of the crafting recipes, still some hangovers from testing in there!
All of the meta blocks, (planks, logs & stone bricks) now use their respective blocks instead of dye's.
I'm also going to add a few more glow blocks to the extreme edition.
So far I have added the smooth & fancy version of the sandstone block. I was also thinking of adding a second string of glow
blocks with a mix of Blank textures for DIY and the other vanilla blocks like diamond, sand, dirt etc.
If anyone has any suggestions for the recipes or new blocks, feel free to post them and I will consider for the next release.
Edit: Second string of glow blocks can now be used with regular or transparent textures for glow glass!

Hopefully these will get that pesky fire inspector off your back
If you add the iron bar stairs texture to one of the new transparent or glass blocks, you can make this
This is a pretty handy mod for server owners that want to give their users what amounts to multiple texture choices for their build projects. If I could make a few suggestions:
- a few extra door, hatch and windowpane templates; I know there's another mod out that adds a few doors, but it isn't SMP compatible.
- a means to "dye" your water or lava buckets different colors; Green lava oozing from the eye sockets of a skull carved into a mountainside, or rivers of cheese-colored water carved into the middle of a mushroom biome sound neat Not sure how difficult that would be though
Also, the above pic of the iron mesh blocks is beast - I can automatically think of 3 places on my server I'd personally use those. Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks, a few of your suggestions should make their way into the mod soon!
Here's links to the new version. OP should have all the new recipes and info soon!
I decided against the second string of glow blocks having the ability to be transparent, as there are flickering texture issues when placed on top of each other.
If you want to make the iron bar block as in the picture posted earlier, you can still re-texture one of the glass blocks.
Enjoy!

Sorry I'm not real clear on how to make the iron stairs.I tried to craft them like in the picture but nothing happens.I made an iron block with the diy textures no problem there. That works in game but i have no idea about the stairs.Don't mean to be a pain.thank you

Did you get the download from the post above or the OP?
I only had the link up for a couple of minutes because I found a problem.
I won't be updating the OP until the morning now, as it's late.
I have added alternate crafting recipes for the glow sandstone until I can find the problem.
Here's the link for the temporary version. It will definitely have the stairs for you and the crafting recipe is as shown in the pic or below.

ok so I took the iron bar texture laid it over one of the diy textures and it made an iron bar block which is ok but when the iron bar block touches another block in game, the block it touches becomes transparent and I can see through it.The stairs work perfectly though thank you so much....

Yes, you will need to re-skin one of the glass blocks for the iron bar block to work. I had to remove the transparent function from the diy blocks. I will add some specific blocks for that purpose down the track.
Ok so I finally got it all sorted out all thanks to your guidance. Here are some pictures of the Fire Escape and the city in the making.....
Very Nice
I have almost finished working on the new layout for the OP, so I think one of your pics will feature on there in the new pic of the week section.
I have also fixed the recipe for the glow sandstone blocks and added a new tier of DIY Glass blocks.
They function in the same way as a regular glass block.
This means they do not support colored transparency like my colored glass blocks do, but are great for making blocks with a clear transparency like the iron bar block.
Check back later today if you want the latest version. Once I have the OP and new version up I will not make any changes (unless any bugs are found) until I have a few more blocks ready to add.
I already have a working door made, but I want to make them use a variety of keys to open them, I will also look into trap doors and window panes.
32 x Glow Blocks
16 x Colored/Stained Glass Blocks
16 x DIY Glass Blocks
32 x DIY Blocks
2 x DIY MultiTexture Blocks (now with blank DIY texture)
6 x New Glow Blocks with MultiTexture: Bookshelf, Sandstone, Birch, Jungle, Oak and Pine logs..
9 x stairs
4 x timer buttons
Uses 26 Block ID's (take's advantage of Forge's 4096 fix)
Nice textures, going to add to the custom texture list I hope?
I was curious to know if its possible to make grass glow blocks that adapt to the biome code, I wouldn't have any idea how to go about doing that.
Also, some of my users feel that the torch recipe for glow blocks is a little too easy, they have suggested to me replace it with glowstone dust or even a glowstone block. Its upto you though... I'd change it myself but I would not know how

Yep, I'll be adding them to the list and a few more. (not til I get home tonight though)
When you say the grass block adapts to the biome code, I assume you mean that the grass will take on the color or the grass in that biome? If so, I haven't actually tried but I think it would work. I have glow grass in my biome mod (the one you saw the pic from, red & blue) but I dont use the biome colorizer code as I also have custom colored dirt. I will look into it when I get a chance.
As for the glowstone, my original intention was to avoid having to go to the nether to collect glowstone dust. I would prefer to keep it that way, perhaps I could add a new ore to the overworld that drops a form of glow dust. I have a coulple of ores in the afore mentioned mod, that act like redstone when mined (slight glow and shoot off orange or blue particles) It wouldn't take much to port one of them over to this mod.
Or if you prefer I can make a custom version for you with a regular glowstone recipe, I don't mind
Well the glowstone thing isnt a huge deal to me but if you think it would be a quick change go for it
And yeah, what I meant by the grass is it will take on the color of the biome grass so you can light up the surface without having anything stand out, it doesn't have to be multitextured or anything, as long as it takes on the color of the biome, looks like grass, and glows, that would be awesome
