Look at the cfg on the wiki. If you can match those values, do so.
The reason for the weird conflict stuff is because I attempted to have some level of backwards compatibility with version 1. I'm sort of regretting that now.
Hi just wanted to post a picture of my test ground not very fancy but just me messing around.
I didn't read anything on this when I put it all together and was wondering how to make it so the gate turns on the steam engines when the lava pipe is empty or not completely full.
And another question is there a engine that doesn't over heat besides the redstone engine that still pumps that slow? or could I use water to cool the redstone engine?
Redstone engines never explode and you want them to be running hot, they are the most efficient when running at orange/red color and no there isn't... unless you use the adjustable engine from a addon mod called Transformers for IC2. But it doesn't go any lower than 1 MJ so it's likely you wouldn't want to use it since 1 MJ is the same output amount as a sterling engine.
As for the gate question... I'm not as familiar with this as I should be but are you using pipe wires?
pipe wire and gates, autarchic in specific to the second question, they are noticeably slower than the RSE however when an RSE is warmed up and possibly even while it's cool.
what you're gonna want to do is put a gate on the pipe somewhere to check if there is liquid in the pipe and if there is or is not turn on the pipe wire signal leading back to the other gate where you want the engines to switch on or off.
[edit] @ Aer, you mean as long as they have work, put one on some grass and put a redstone torch and your diamond storage next to it if you don't believe me
i believe being connected to either conductive or normal wooden pipe counts however even if it's just a single piece going nowhere.[/edit]
24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.

autarchic gate, not engine and you have buildcraft, so yes you do.
it's basically a logic gate that goes onto a buildcraft pipe, the autarchic have a function called the energy pulsar that is like a built in engine that can be operated by the logic gate.

Hello! This is a great mod indeed but I have 2 mod breaking things happening to me. I can find copper nor tin ore anywhere in the map.. Do I need another mod to generate these or does thermal expansion generate them automatically? It says no where in the mod explanation if the ore you need to build certain machines is included in the mod.

Thanks for the help
All of the ores necessary are included and do generate naturally. Be sure and check that they are enabled in the cfg file (/config/cofh/thermalexpansion.cfg), but they are by default.

Wow, I really appreciate such a quick and simple reply =). I did check the config file and they are all set to true. I will generate a new world and look around.
Oh!, this might be the culprit. Just curious, say I started a new world without Thermal Expansion, then added the mod and popped back in. Would the ore then generate in that instance? In an existing world?
Hey King I noticed and I know it's a little behind a few days that you're planning to add more energy storage to the redstone energy cell. Now I am just going out on a limb here and you've might have already had someone suggest it to you or you even already thought it up. A more advanced and slightly more expensive restone energy cell maybe?
Now looking at the recipe, 3 electrum ingot, 2 lead ingots, a energy storage frame and that redstone conductance coil. there's still 2 more slots open in the recipe. For a more advanced/expensive one why not put 2 diamonds in the last two slots to create a advanced redstone energy cell?

Thank you again
you need to go to a chunk you've never been to before in order to see the ores. Any previous chunks you've been in or explored without the mod installed won't have the ores deposits in it.

Basically this. I don't do retroactive ore generation - ThaumCraft might be the only mod that does, and Azanor is a far better modder than I.

A larger storage probably won't be coming, at least not in any form that will remain mobile. Block tiers are more of an IC2 thing, you don't see that with BuildCraft. Also, if the primary concern here is moving energy between dimensions, there will be another method of handling that in the future. The storage cell is really meant to serve as a jump start for some kind of setup, not the primary mode of energy transport.
Bit of a cosmetic pet pev with me... I like it that vanilla glass basically merges together to create smooth walls of glass to see through without the lines/outlines of the block. I know this is a feature of Optifine, any chance we could see this down the road with hardened glass?
If this is an addon for buildcraft where is buildcraft 1.4.5?
there is no link on the website neither for 1.4.2 or any other version past 1.3.2.
There isn't an official release. I have a script that grabs the source off github and kicks out a build when they add commits. Check here every couple of days for new ones.
how would you tell the mod glass apart from vanilla glass then? or are you asking for it join up clearly but leave the reinforcing material around the outside, think rectangle pattern if i'm explaining that badly.
i'm honestly not sure but if you mean the latter that would (i'd guess) be a bit harder to do than what you're seeing with vanilla glass as in the image you show the middle block would only need to show reinforcing layer on the top and bottom borders while the other two would have a reinforcing layer around the top bottom and left or right side.

No you got the idea right, the leaving the outline of the reinforcing material would make sense so it is distinguishable from regular glass.

As said earlier I have a problem when the engines go fast they seem to back up and drop the stuff all over the ground.

an example of what I mean
It plays well with BC but is not officially an addon. You can run it standalone.
