This mod is a "sequel" to my networked chests mod. Since the Ender Chest was getting released I realized I had to completely revamp the mod altogether.
There are 6 parts to this mod:
1. Networked Chest
This chest works similarly to the new Ender Chest, however this supports an unlimited* amount of separate networks. Here is a more detailed thread.
2. Tools Chest
This chest is a regular chest, however any tools/armor that are in the chest will repair slowly over time, at random intervals.
3. Ores Chest
This chest is again, a regular chest, ores smelt slowly over time, giving a better output than a furnace.
4. Grabber Chest
This chest acts as an absorber. Any items that come in contact with it will try and enter the chest, if the chest is full, it will drop the item under it.
5. Smelter Chest
This chest acts as a combination between a furnace and a chest, smelting all items 1 to 1.
6. Dis-enchanting Chest
This chest dis-enchants any enchanted items, returning a number of bottles of enchanting, for bottles.

This looks like a nice, short, easy-to-use mod for people who don't want to mess around with a lot of larger ones. Personally I don't think I'll use it because the existing EnderChest mod works like the Networked Chest and Equivalent Exchange 2 has a feature like the Tools Chest for the Alchemical Chest.
I will say the Ores Chest looks a bit overpowered, at least more so than the others. ~2 redstone ore, 2 wood blocks, and an iron ore block to never need to waste coal in a furnace again? I'd suggest at least putting some blaze powder into the recipe, and maybe a furnace.
Thanks for taking some of my suggestions Watkins! I feel honored to have helped this remake in some way.
Any chance we can get that absorbing chest idea in here? Please. It doesn't matter to me if items gravitate towards it, as long as it absorbs them on contact. Pretty please
hey this mod is awesome! its really useful, i made a mod spotlight for you to add to your thread to help show off the mod and hopefully get some more downloads.
This mod has been updated to v1.0.1 because there was a bug with saving the networked chests. If you wish to keep your items from v1 to v1.0.1 please follow these steps:
Locate your minecraft folder. You can use the open texture pack folder to find it easier.
Find the networked chests file. It will be ntwch_yourworldnamehere.dat.
Copy this file, and paste it in the saves/yourworldnamehere folder.
Rename the file to ntwch.dat
You can now install v1.0.1 while keeping all your items.

Excellent mod! You should do it between worlds, that would be awesome! a shared chest between any world! in fact it would be very cool if you add some kind of main chest with multipages that let you choose any of the shared chests in any world

Uh... I don't think that'd be a good feature to add, because of how OP it'd be. Imagine, you never had to get anything ever again, because you a have a legit world with sooooooo much stuff, it would make every mechanic in the game, useless.

Every Mod makes at least one "mechanic in the game" usless, or diferent, better o worst in some cases, that's the point of a MOD, a CHANGE
i think it's a good idea, for example in terraria u use your same character in every new world if u want, its fun to start new worlds, discover new areas with your armor that you already build, or items you already have, of course everyone have diferent points of view and that's mine
OK, so, I've been playing with this mod for a while and the one thing about it that really bugs me is that you can easily get these chests before you even find diamond. Considering how unbelievably useful they are, this is kind of a problem in my opinion. May I propose some alternate recipes to help balance the mod out a bit?
As a side note, you can also just put a regular chest in the middle of these in order to skip a step in the productions process. They more than make up for the reduced redstone cost. Just a suggestion since I hate random 'step' items in mods.
Networked Chest
Pretty self-explanitory. The torch on top is the 'antenna' (since it's a network and not any type of magic, get it?) and the repeaters are the technical stuff that makes it work. Add some redstone at the bottom and the mechanism is complete.
I also thought it would be cool to use and Ender Chest as the center of this one when 1.3 comes out since it's expanding on the same basic idea. Again, just a thought.
Ores Chest
The two furnaces are incorporated into this chest. The lava bucket at the bottom acts as a heat source while the two blaze rods perpetually sustain the heat and distribute it throughout the chest. The ores at the top are basically to keep with your original recipe a little, and to make it suitably expensive since this chest will negate the need to ever have coal for anything except torches ever again.
As a side note, there really should be a "Smelting Chest" that does everything a furnace does. Just sayin'
Tools Chest
Basically, it's a whetstone surrounding the chest. The diamond blocks at the bottom form the base of the device. This is expensive for a reason: anything that allows me to keep my Unbreaking IV, Efficiency III, Fortune III pick in pristine condition indefinitely should be expensive! Seriously, at least put a diamond in place of that lowly iron ingot.
Just my suggestions. Use them if you'd like... or not.
Also, I made you some better recipe graphics for the recipes you have now. Enjoy.
Before I forget, I'd also like to offer my services as an artist to make some better textures for your chests. No offense, but they're kinda... bland.
Also, I would like your permission to support this mod with my upcoming Texture Pack. It's called "Sanity", and you can find the preview thread HERE. Please?

Thanks for the suggestions and the improved recipe diagrams. I'll be sure to update the OP with them (and give you full credit). Regarding having support for this mod in your texture pack feel free. I don't really know how this will work exactly, but I'm sure I'll be able to help.
I would be very grateful if you were to help me with textures, since I know mine aren't the greatest. I'll contact you via PM for the rest of this.
Thanks, Watkins.
