I need help please. I downloaded the Pixelmon mod and the forge for my son to use on minecraft. The problem is that it does not show up as available to use in the resource pack or the multiplayer settings. Can someone please give us a step by step guide on how to do this? We run Windows 7 and I currently have the most up to date minecraft version. We are not computer literate and need someone to draw it in crayon for us lol. Thank you for anyone who could help.

Ok, if you're up-to-date on the minecraft you will need to go back a bit since the mod doesn't run on 1.6.4. To do this you will need to do the following:
1. Open the minecraft launcher and in the lower-left corner you will see "Profile:" Then a box with your username and under it will be 2 buttons, one says "New Profile", the other says "Edit Profile". Click Edit Profile.
2. In the window that opens, look for "Use version:" it should have a box next to it that might say "Use Latest Version". Click the box and select "Release 1.6.2". Then click Save Profile and click Play on the launcher. Once the game screen loads you can close it. Forge for 1.6.2 requires 1.6.2 to have been run once before installing so that's why I throw in this step just to be safe.
3. Download and install Forge 9.10.1.871 (it will be listed as "Latest-1.6.2" under Promotions)
4. If you already searched %appdata% to bring up Roaming and .minecraft to copy the Pixelmon files over you don't need to do so again.
5. Run the minecraft Launcher and this time next to "Profile:" click the box and select "Forge" It should ask for a profile to use to login and go ahead and select your regular profile. Again we want to select Edit Profile and we want to make sure we select release1.6.2-Forge9.10.1.871. Save Profile and click Play on the launcher. You should see a different start screen with a Mods option and if you click it you should see Pixelmon listed. Then you can go ahead and start playing.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I've got a somewhat bad bug to report. When I push the "switch pokemon" buttons (doesn't matter which) on a server that doesn't have the mod installed, the game freezes. It doesn't crash, and the MultiMC console still shows people talking, but I am unable to do anything to get the game to unfreeze. Sadly, there is no crash log for me to post. It may be a mod conflict with Optifine (I wouldn't be surprised, though the most trouble I've ran into Optifine was using Ultra, which caused the models to become squares. I'm currently using Standard version, and this does not happen).
If you go to the Pixelmon wiki/website, not sure which, the incompatible list includes Optifine. In short, Optifine doesn't work with Pixelmon, sorry.

i havent played this in ages...anyways do the pokemon still not fight back if a player decides to attack them directly?....thats always bugged me for some reason...
Seeing as how this mod adds pre-generated structures into the world, won't a 1.6.4 version be required to ensure a smooth transition to 1.7? If so, is one in development?
Seriousely getting tired of my pokemon fainting instantly at the end of the first round when fighting pokemon fished up with the old rod. No way does a level 23 pidgey lose to a level 8 magikarp.
I have Pixelmon installed with the Familiars mod, but when I go to make the famguide, it gives me a white apricorn instead. I posted this on the famguide post and the only answer I got was "There's a config file somewhere" but that doesn't help me at all...
If someone knows what I can do, can you give me an explanation please? One that an idiot like me would understand :/

I am not receiving any drops from bosses or from trainers Is anyone else having this issue?

They're very hard to find. Just keep looking around the whole world. I suggest leaving the seed generator blank. They can be rarely found. But be surprised if you found one.
Here are some suggestions for what pixelmon to add in 2.4/.5/.6/.7/.8/.9/3.0: Riolu+Lucario the starters from each generation like chimchar ect. zorua+zorark victini. Thats it.
