I am trying to find what is the problem with Pixelmon and OptiFine.

The only way to crash with NullPointerException at this line is the variable "block" to be NULL.
The variable "block" is assigned the value of "tile.blockType" and I have no idea why it is NULL at this place. OptiFine is not changing anything related to blocks, rockTypes or entity initialization that could lead to this effect.
The fix in the Pixelmon source is to check if the block is null and skip the rendering.
What is the new Forge rendering utility that Optifine does not support?
the thing is though, that "block" is actuall an obj, not a normal minecraft block, so if you lets say spawning in a gastly, porygon, or a poliwrath, you would also crash with that because your mod cant load objs (or something of the sort, all i know is that optifine doesnt support the forge hook to load in objs)

if this is so, the problem is pixelmon, NOT optifine, should look, and FIX
Pixelmon uses the forge utility for rendering models from OBJ files to render the evolution rocks, as well as some of the new mobs as well, and we are starting to go to all mobs being OBJ based entities. That is the incompatibility, optifine doesn't have support for that OBJ rendering.
The forge package path to all of those functions is net.minecraftforge.client.model.obj and there are several classes in that path.
Hopefully that helps clear up the source of the incompatibility.

OptiFine does not change anything related to OBJ files, in fact I had no idea that OBJ based entities exist before the Pixelmon issue. Nowhere in the Forge classes modified by OptiFine is there a reference to anything similar to OBJ entities. Therefore I have no idea what may be wrong.
This specific crash is caused by a null pointer exception, because the variable "tile.blockType" is not initialized. You can check the Pixelmon code and see where "tile.blockType" is initialized and who is calling the initialization and what are the dependancies around it. Or you can add some debug code to see if the initialization is called when OptiFine is active and so on until it is clear why the variable is not initialized.
If the initialization is not called with OptiFine active, then you can put a "throw new RuntimeException()" there and run it once without OptiFine. From the stacktrace I can see where the call originates and over which methods it goes and then I can check the Forge source for these methods and so on.
When the problem is clear I can fix it on the OptiFine side.
I need help really bad. im trying to do pixelmon series with my friend. I don't know how to make a server but I want to do a lan with my friend. and whenever I do a lan server with him he cant connect to my worlde because ID mismatches pop up. can anybody please help and when ever im in single player and try to go into my world ID mismatches also pop up like ID mismatch 100 from world. And then it say do u want to continue loading world. and then I click yes. And then the next time it happens again. and that's not the only ID mismatch that pops up. can anybody help please?
Ok then. Name one mod that uses an OBJ model that doesn't crash with optifine.
im not sure many mods use objs actually, i know the one noppes made uses objs, but i dont know if it crashes with optifine or not, the main difference is that noppes wrote his own code to do it (i tihnk) and didnt use the forge hook like we are, of course that could have changed, havent looked it in in 3 or so months

do not tell me, there are THOUSANDS of mod in minecraft,,, with entity y with OBJ using forge + optifine
pixelmon is SPECIAL?
this clear, what I'm seeing, that the problem is not optifine , is pixelmon and NOT want to fix
point!
Honestly. Honestly?!?
Your stupidity made me even log in to this account that i never use, just to rant about how dumb this remark is.
You probably don't even understand what they are talking about right now,
Forge Mod Loader recently added a hook where you can render models from modelling programs such as Blender or Maya, which replace the old Techne way of exporting straight to java and having code make up the model.
Such is where Optifine has not looked into, OBJ renderring.
Hellr there. First off I just want to congratulate on how amazing this mod is. Everything works very fluidly, models are beautiful as well are the textures and animations. I, well my friend, has an issue. Even though we have everything the same, I think we do, he crashes while selecting a starter pokemon while mine runs perfectly. Here is the forge log, I hope someone could help. http://pastebin.com/Seze1beD
Check out our forums, they have a special support section which has help for this issue
love the mod but, my voltorb, bug catcher and a few others (this stragely doesn't include electrode) have completly white textures, the model is there but not the color, will you help
on my client, voltorb, bug catcher and a few others have a completely white texture, the model is there just... white
please halp
edit please add donphan and phampy, if you do i'll try to find a good screen recorder to remake the first pkmn movie in mc
Is there any way to make the Pokemon spawned by the pokespawn command have custom stats, etc? Including presetting the size thing and such?

That happens with really old or weak graphics cards and not a lot we can do about it currently
I think I found the problem with Pixelmon and OptiFine.
The "RenderTileEntityEvolutionRock.java" is using "((TileEntityEvolutionRock)tile).blockType", but it should be using "((TileEntityEvolutionRock)tile).getBlockType()", because the variable "blockType" is lazy initialized in "getBlockType()".
It is working in Forge as a side effect of an render optimization that Forge does for tile entities. In OptiFine the optimization is done differently and the method "getBlockType()" is not called and the variable is not initialized.
Replacing "blockType" with "getBlockType()" should fix the problem.

- NEI - CRASH minecraft
look at them, and see if you can fix
pd: biomes or plenty, does not work with pixelmon not spawn pokemon in the world
