Hi everyone,
I'm trying to do the pixelmon mod for my brother but I'm having a hard time figuring it out, can someone please help me out? Possibly going through the process with me step by step? Thanks for reading my post, and have a great day
Here are the instructions (spoilered for anyone who has read them 1000 times already)
Installation is pretty simple:
1) Download a minecraft.jar file from the minecraft site
4) Using WinRAR or similar, copy all of the files from Forge into the minecraft.jar file, and ACCEPT any prompts WinRAR gives
5) Go to your .minecraft folder and copy all the files from the Pixelmon (2.2.1).zip into the folder NOTE: Do not copy it into the /mods folder, but the main .minecraft folder, as the install has some other folders it has to install, and it has the /mods folder as part of the .zip file
6) Still in the .minecraft folder, copy all the files from the Pixelmon Resources.zip folder into your main .minecraft folder.
7) Launch the game and enjoy!
And if you have any questions on how to play the game and craft items, feel free to check out my Pixelmon Youtube series (linked in my signature), as we start from scratch and cover the basics as we go.
How can I get the Pixelmon Mod to work with multiplayer?
It should work just fine with multiplayer. Just follow the instructions in the above spoiler, but also modify the minecraft_server.jar in the same way. Also you will need to look up how to make a start_server.bat file from the minecraft official wiki's page on starting servers. Then you should be good to go. Don't forget to have the resources.zip installed server-side as well, again, just like the above procedure.
I have Bspkrs core, Forge (1.5.2) and Optifine along with Pixelmon, and i get this error
Could optifine be interfering with pixelmon? the other 2 i know are required. does bspkrs core belong in the folder with optifine and forge instead of in the mods folder?
Trying to get a group of people to play Pixelmon, it's a lot of fun, but we seem to be crashing when getting in range of a particular chunk. Standing two blocks outside the chunk boundry, no crash, move into that chunk, and I'm assuming some distant chunk has a bad entity of some kind. It crashes immediately.
Running Forge and Optifine and Pixelmon and Pixel resources. Nothing else.
Thanks! Look forward to figuring this out!
Optifine is currently incompatible with Pixelmon. They haven't added support for a new forge rendering utility that is used to render the Evolution stones, they are aware of this issue and are working on it. Hopefully they will add support in one of the next few updates. Until then, just uninstall it and the mod should work perfectly fine, as long as you don't try to pair it with NotEnoughItems (the other big incompatible mod).
it works with too many items and reis definitely. optifine isn't our issue it's theirs and I really don't know about player api or smart moving
Smart Moving I know works, I've seen a few different people with it in their mod sets and they don't seem to have issues. No idea either on player api, but I don't think it would have any issue.
v7.8.0.705 (universal download) or higher (latest version should work fine), but this version is the one the developers are writing the mod with, so it is definitely going to be compatible
Hi everyone, welcome to the new thread for pixelmon. This mod is growing at a fantastic rate and I hope you all enjoy it
You guys suck. You make people get rid of modpacks made for people who can't download mods. WTF you guys are complete jerks for doing this. I liked the mod but know i hate it. You guys are greedy and only want people to play if its yours because you worry about you not getting credit. What i would like to say don't get and if you do don't give them credit.
As mentioned on all our download pages, optifine is not currently compatible with all of the latest version of forge which means that until they fix it it is not compatible with pixelmon
I found a temporary solution, i play with both optifine and pixelmon, is obvious, you only need to use a program like mcedit or a similar program, in the crashlog find the id of the crashing item that is the evolution stone and the coordinates, in mcedit search the pink block that is called future block with the same id of the evolution stone in the sames coordinate, and delete that block, and you can continue using both optifne and pixelmon until optifine fix the problem maybe you can save a copy of the world so when the problem is fixed you can put the evolution stone again in their natural spawn place. sorry for my English, is not my first language, obviously XD
Where do I find the minecraft.jar file on the minecraft website?
1) Go to http://minecraft.net/download
2) Under Minecraft for Windows, click the "show all platforms" link
3) Under the Minecraft for Linux/Other title that appears, that is the minecraft.jar
They are disabled by default. If you want to re-enable them:
1) go into the folder you have minecraft in, locate your /config folder and open the Pixelmon.cfg (word, notepad, any text editor should work).
2) go down the file to the "general" section
3) Change the line that reads B:"Allow vanilla mobs"=false to B:"Allow vanilla mobs"=true

That might be a hard solution to keep implementing. Anytime you explore a new Tiaga, Ice Plains, or Forest biome, you will run the risk of having an evolution rock spawn in a nearby chunk, thus causing you to crash, and have to re-edit, only to have it likely happen in another 10 feet. Also, the evolution rocks are TileEntities, not blocks, though not sure if that makes a difference.
well this sucks, I got a crash when loading up a new or already existing world.... would appreciate the help =]
also, I wouldn't be surprised if it was maybe a mod that doesn't like this one? I have about 36 or 37 mods installed =P
This is an incompatibility with nei.
It is incompatibility with NEI, and also you will need to remove Opifine for now as well, until they fix up the Evolution rock support.
Guys feel free to post every now and then on the optifine board to remind them of the issue. I posted there before we released 2.2 but nothing has been done so far regarding it so maybe they've forgotten
How do you Install this mod? Please put the instructions in the O.P.. Thanks! The items are for you (couldn't get pants for you sorry )
EDIT: Whoops, I had caps lock on, sorry! Changing that now...

If you go to the download page there are 2 youtube videos linked one showing how to install it normally the other showing how to setup multimc to work with pixelmon
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! So i have been playing pixelmon and when i move around the world, i crash. I know I installed it correctly. I am also using the custom npc's mod. Here is the crash report: Minecraft has crashed!
