From The Creator of Biome Mod (Probably never heard about it)
Make exploring fun again!
Anyone who has played minecraft before the 1.8 update knows that the terrain generator drastically changed, and many think for the worst. No more could you go walking in your forest, and suddenly find a gigantic range of cloud piercing peaks. Nope, the 1.8 generator could be characterized in one word:
Terrain+ Changes This!
This mod re-introduces random mountains to the generator in two distinct classes.
In Forests and Taigas, you can find Peaks, your normal mountains, and you can find Cliffs. Cliffs are like the most extreme terrain you can remember from 1.7.3, complete with giant cliffs, over hangs, arches and floating islands!
In Deserts, you can find mountains, as in other biomes, along with Plateaus, where could be better to build a desert fortress!
In jungles, you can find huge mountains riddled with huge drops down to lakes and rivers.
All of these terrain features all have different rarities! Its a lot more common to find a small hill than it is to find a floating archipelago!
Well, while second and fourth screenshots are nice, first and third are ugly, at least. They look more like chunk error than normal terrain. Can you make those features more smooth (as Minecraft allows, of course)?
Regardless this issue, I'll download it anyway. Is it Forge-compatible?
I would think so, and they
actually are pretty smooth, its juts not easy to capture in a screen shot.
