nah you're fine there- would be too much to make them cool- and it would add to the in-game calculating: resulting in lag. Blooms are tricky enough let alone having the buggers cool.
I have a horrible horrible thing to report... but... Minefantacy doesn't like Optifine... it... HATES it... whenever I have Optifine installed with MF, all the moddles for blocks (all MF, Bibliocraft) turn into horrible monsters... and if the MF blocks (because Biblio is always trucked up, but only with Opti) arn't messed up... the entities are... I turn into a horrible pile or random structures, and most hostile mobs are the same... but pigs, sheeps, cows, chickens, bats, and squids are fine... but the poor Hounds... I had to kill them because they were so... disterbing... Now, I bring this up because I removed Opti because I LOVE your mod, its totaly amazing, but I crash every five minutes because I run out of memory (even with everything set to the lowest settings) I don't even have bad lag, I normaly run at about 10-20 FPS (shut up, bad computer I know) without Opti, and maybe 15-25 with Opti (yea... "big" increase) and with Opti I havn't gotten a Memory issue in forever... so, if you could look into it (I doubt its any other mods, but I use the Player API thing... but It doesn't seem to have any effect so I removed it, but I have Biblio 1.5.5 and Extra Utils latest, and Openblocks, those are all the mods I know that have "fancy" renderings) I'm using Optifine D1 (the one that like Biomes 'O Plenty), I also have Optifine put into the mods folder, not installed into the jar. So if you could look at that and let me know if I have to deal with 5 minute crashes, or if there is a way to fix it, I'd love to continue. Also: I'm kinda working on a modpack, I kinda wanna make it a bit like SAO (look it up, awesome anime) with different jobs and stuff, and your mod is good with that, adding a need for a real smithy, miner, worriers, and that kinda stuff, and I wanted your permission to use this mod, I don't know if you have something about it, I didn't see it directly on the page, or in the Wiki, so if its ok with you. I'm going to use it mostly privatly, then once me and my friends get things set up, we're going to add people by invite only.
Also, to what you said about my Idea, it wouldn't be to hard, just look at some of the Forge Micro Blocks mod stuff, and I'm not talking about 2 billion planks in one block, i'm thinking maybe like 4 in one, or 8 (making a hollow block type thing). Tho, if you arn't able to do something like that, I could just keep using FMB to cut up the blocks and use them, but I won't be able to make a pile of wood like I could with yours, if you do it (like 4 on the bottom, 3 ontop of that, then 2, then one, making it a full sized block) as I said, if you can't do that, its fine, just decorative things ya know!
Also, I was just wondering... would it be possible to make the leather armors (maybe just the rough? but it would be cool to dye all leathers, other than the stealth). And maybe... this is if you want to, and your ok with it, could you maybe make it so you could use the pads and stitch them together to make clothing type things that add half a point of armor, making a total of 2 armor points, they can be dyed, and have 2 places to be dyed. and you could also put two rounded plates above the shoulders on the chestplate with armored shoulders, bringing the chestplate armour up to 1.5, giving you 3 points of protection. Again, that's only if you want to, because I think it would be really cool and add stuff for those people on Multiplayer servers who want jobs, like Tailors, because that would give them something to do!
or maybe... optifine has a problem with renders... I've heard of it before... Bibliocraft uses obj models- they can't be messed up. I've had that problem with stuff from other mods. and sometimes vanilla animals.
Why would this be this mods problem? what aspect of this mod alters in-game rendering? maybe it's the big mod that does rendering stuff.
And what is it with people and "ideas" I have plans for the newer version- and 9 times out of 10: think of stuff before anyone mentiones it.
Anyway adding some crazy microblock thing is a waste of time. it's just a novelty that's not really useful. Might aswell just have a log pile block that stores planks. that's simpler and it serves a purpose more than wasting time.
that sounds good, and maybe it gets bigger the more logs/planks are in it? And i'm not sure really... I could try and pick it apart (the only reason I havn't done this yet is because I have a slow computer and my computer likes taking 5 minutes to open minecraft... yea... slow)
And, *sighs* sorry about saying this, but I actualy wanted to talk about the tailoring part... maybe... if your willing, and only if you want to, we could talk about some of the recipe's, because I just thought, thinking maybe "well, maybe instead of using padding, you ADD padding to existing armor and "upgrading" existing armor. only if you want to... and sorry if I sound like I'm trying to push things onto you, I just love helping mods in any way I can
I think specialized building blocks have "other mods" and "mod pack" written all over them. Actually, I've been thinking a lot about mod packs lately -- I made one, but fear its become bloated. I've been on a MF server with a server pack that's pretty good but I fear is becoming bloated (and straining / lagging the server). I'm actually thinking of splitting my last pack in two (one for magical high fantasy and survival challege and one for a more civilized setting) and am looking into something new, more in the core MF spirit and more server friendly (meaning, less strain on machines) something like this:
Mostly aesthetic; other than a couple basic utilities, those that change game play either add challenge or are have benefits nerfed in configs. Basically, build and decorate better, have a few extra enemies to fight a placed to loot, but really leave the focuse on an unchanged MineFantasy progession. This includes no magic (though some form would make sense as a setting).
OK, *maybe* ArchimedesShips, which is very helpful in travel, but only it get accross / around water, so not too cheaty -- should even that say?
Even things that work well have been left out here. GrowthCraft work great with MineFantasy when used as a setting, but when used as a challenge GrowthCraft basically is endless food super easy and mass-produced regen potions (aka, "mead"). I love dynamic lights, but it is cheating on the steath system since mobs don't know its not dark. Just because two mods are each good doesn't mean they must go together. And, thise has little more memory usages or CPU strain than vanilla.
Of course, I love to have Mo'Creatures if it was allowed, but its not (it does increase strain on the computer as much as everything listed combined does.
Of course, you can just install some of those to you liking.
Anyway, something like that would be good for staying pretty true to MineFantasy's system, but can allow plenty of special building, Or,
@BlackJar72 I've used most of those mods, I don't like the Heldiary and I kinda don't want "flags" as their... well... a bit pointless... sorry, but thanks for trying to help. Anyway, as for decorative things, I use FMB and Chisel (as of now I don't have it installed, I use CoHF Core to change ore spawning stuff... currently i'm trying to get it to work and make MF ores more common... its... not working so far...). Aslo, I use Peaceful Pack (Inspiricraft) mainly because my computer hates rendering to many entities and turning the difficulty causes mobs to spawn and I get about... 2-7 FPS and I can't move... then a creeper walks up behind me and "bye bye Items!". So I know its a bit cheaty, but if you think about it, niter doubles bone meal, Sulfer Crystals just make torches, and there isn't much else that is cheaty about it... Also... i'm having trouble making glass... how do I make it?
Also, I love how making iron is alot harder, which makes any mod that requires alot of iron alot more fun because it takes longer to get those things.
If someone would be willing to send me a link or let me know about a mod that adds clothing (if AP doesn't want to add it), I'd apreciate it, because I'd really like to make an SAO type server with jobs, and as I said, MF is perfect, expecialy with the tool tiering that makes it allot harder!

Well yeh, obviously it would render different sizes, But storage alternatives was a thing to consider (things from tool boxes to locked safes. ) but that's probably an expansion (not up for discussion) got to make the mod first.
And uh... what do you mean upgrade from what? you mean splint and scale use padding? in which case: normally splint and scale are just leather, not padding.

It's good someone understands that. Problem with most is they want to do everything on day 1. (with other mods and stuff)all MineFantasy does is scale things up a bit. most mods use iron as their starting point (thaumcraft for example). and it's good to do all that whacky stuff when you have a home and such, not when you're living in a hole in the ground
I heard of a clothing mod somewhere. Must exist, and maybe there's a 1% chance someone may use the API rather than ask me to try and add support.

I've been there with the weak computer thing -- last year I was playing in fast-tiny with 12-20 fps (could go to short and keep 9-15), and massive keyboard lag so if I walked a minute it would take a few seconds to stop, because I had the cheapest computer available at Walmart in 2006. Totally unplayable on normal or longer.
I was going to mention MinePainter as another alternative to microblocks, though I'm not planning on using it in the future.
My point was, there are many mods for some of these things that aren't going to be in MF.
The other things that I've been thinking a lot about and just wanted to share is that even a strong computer can be overwhelmed with too many mods, so people wanting a lot of game changing or challenge nerfing mods might want to turn it down. Really a lot of that was stuff that to me would be safe to put on a MineFantasy server without overwhelming it or making it hard to tell which mods was the "main mod" (though a complere setting orient pack is OK, just easy to make overly taxing on computers - safe because it decorates rather than changing game play).

Ok:
1. I mean, you have your leather stuff (stealth, rough, vanilla) and you can either add some padding to it on a tailors table, or pound a few plates onto the chest and sholders (figuratively) to add a smidge more protection to it. nothing insane, just a little bit, but you have to choose: protection from blunt weapons, or protection from projectiles/sharp weapons! (padding and plates respectively). Also, with those things, if you make them seperate ID's, they could easily be added to the list for EnviroMine (ads just a llliiiiitle bit more fun to the whole survival thing~) with the padded leather making you warmer, and the plated leather armor helps cool you off when its hot, but makes it even cooler when cold. The other cool part is, with Enviromines special setting that allows you to do that with armours, Dragonforge armor could be harmfull if warn to long, mainly because it super heats you (after all, dragonforge tools set mobs on fire and can ignite forges/bloomerys/firepits)
2. There is one, but I don't really like it (32x items, looks gaudy with vanilla textures), and there is just to much added, and it gets cluttered. Also, something as simple as being able to dye the armor could count it as "clothing" for example: Better storage, dye-able cardboard armor, doesn't add much protection, but looks some what O.K.
Also... seriously... how the heck to I make glass? its... odd having holes in the side of my houses using fences for my windows... do I use a bloomery? a Forge? or do I really have to save up all my bronze to make a large Furnace? (if its that way, I think I'll just have to "find" *cough cough* NEI *cough cough* a furnace JUST for glass)
I've been there with the weak computer thing -- last year I was playing in fast-tiny with 12-20 fps (could go to short and keep 9-15), and massive keyboard lag so if I walked a minute it would take a few seconds to stop, because I had the cheapest computer available at Walmart in 2006. My laptop is a Windows 8 Dell notebook (15 inch display) that got "corrupted" (it freeking deleted its own OS because Win8 = worst OS ever. I'd pick Apple over Win8), its now Win7 (still like vista, don't talk smack, never had CPU issues, ran MC on Normal render with 20+ FPS vanilla), And I think i've only got.... 47 mods? biggest ones are MF, Biblio, Openblocks, Extra Utilities, Peacefull Pack (Inspiricraft), GrowCraft (apple, core, fishing, celler), and Forge Micro Blocks. Of course I have NEI (who doesn't?), but thats it.... hopefully I can find whats causing the visial bugs with Opti and MF...
And that clothing mod... is worse than the one I found... that ones is just... even worse... I hate High res textures (probably the only 32x texture pack I will use is Last Days... but its not working for 1.6.4 for me). But thanks for trying

Sorry, that was the only clothing mod I know -- you asked if anyone knew a link to a clothing mod, so I gave one. I never really looked, having never thought much about clothing in Minecraft -- but had happened ppon that one through Youtube.

First: how do I make Glass? honesty.... second, what do you use for your video's? I'm thinking about updating a few of the outdated ones (I understand the mod pretty well... aside from a few things... *cough* glass *cough cough*)
Also... on the wiki page, it talks about a grinder... is that a thing? or was it removed? or is it just hidden in NEI?
1: The dealy with leather tiers
Ah i see what you mean- I suppose. Padding was going to be made from leather tiers anyway. Main(scale/splint/etc) was going to likely be made with a leather armour suit in crafting. padding on splint/scale... not real sure. depends on how the armour system gets made.
2: Glass smelting
Bloomeries only smelt ingots. You need a proper MineFantasy furnace to smelt anything else. Since you shouldn't have a home until you get some equipment it's not a problem. Bloomeries will not smelt anything but ingots. that's what bloomeries are. You can activate vanilla furnaces. but their stupid and have no real challenge to them hence the big heavy expensive equipment that is MineFantasy furnaces. luxuries like refined stone and glass are made with them(and ingots too)
Grinder- got rid of that ages ago, didn't play well with non-mod items

how... i've checked the config like...10 times... if I have to dissable hard core crafting I don't want to... (I like having to get the sinue and fibers and stuff)
Also, I had a laugh when I realized "dang... if I had Ex Nihal, it wouldn't work, expecialy if MF doesn't use the Forge Ore Dictionary!"
and if it does... I see possible Sky Block stuff in the future.... (would be VERY hard... maybe a custom one... with one copper ore placed far away, and a single vine hanging from the tree so you can collect vines with a sharp rock (spawns in the starting chest, along with a quick "read this so you don't fk up..." ya know, because EVERYONE does their first time!)
Also, AP, BlackJar, would you two be willing (if I get it to work) be admin/OP/Mods on my server once we make it "invite public"?

For glass, smelt sand. In this mod you will need to build the big furnace (unless you plunder a village for the vanilla kind).
For recording I used which unfortunately doesn't work in 1.6.4. Unfortunate, because it was very easy and gave decent quality with syncronized sound.
Before that I used a Linux command-line utility called ffmpeg (or its spin-off avconv), which on my system gave poor quality and was hard to sync sound with, but did at least not hurt my frame rate (if I did it the hard way). I , if you have access to ffmpeg, but if you're on windows you probably don't. I actually kept my command in a a text file because the syntax is complicated.

What? this does use oreDict just it needs to register certain things: so some things may be missed. What are you referring to objectwise
