I've seen tons of mods since I've been playing minecraft. I've been playing the game before pistons were even around (which seems like a long time to me). But the mods that really stick out to me are ones that enrich the minecraft survival aspect. Unfortunately, I've also found those mods are some of the most complicated, and often the last to update. And While I'm guilty of moving on to other mods as minecraft updates, I still wait patiently for my favorites.
This mod is by far my favorite. I mean seriously, I remember seeing it around MC ver 1.2.5 and thinking that this was the perfect mod for me, mostly because I'm such a medieval enthusiast. I spent about the first month of one of my summer breaks watching Samurai Jack, playing with my dog (Real and Minefantasy) and Killing dragons with my beloved diamond encrusted plate mail and my mythril battleaxe. And it was awesome.
I know you've been berated by your loyal fans to update and I apologize for being among them (the berating I mean), but just know that this is a GREAT mod. An Incredible mod IMO, and it would be a shame to let it die. And I have no doubt people would be willing to help. Myself included, I can't code for squat but I do texturing all the time. I even textured the minefantasy blocks to fit with the Wayukian pack.
TLDR: AP, Your mod is awesome, you're awesome for doing all the work, and anyone who plays your mod knows it.
I eagerly await riding fully armored on my horse with hounds trailing behind.
Yeah -- and quite a bit that hasn't made it to the wikis yet, too, has been done and is being tested (result: it seems to work). I think its mostly documentation that's the hold up now (bad me for not writing more), since things are even more complex than before. I don't think the wiki's even mention tailoring yet, but its there. Cooklng? Just need to write about it. Its practically a one-mod-modpack at this point. (Not that I'm not working on an actual mod-pack built around it .) I wish I could show you but I'm sure you'll see it soon enough.
ehh.. the wikispaces.. mostly. that was added like 2 years ago.
well, after encountering yet another problem: that also has been dealt with. the more issues found and delt with the better. also, I don't take suggestions anymore. because A: Ive got a list of content to add after this release if I get to it. B: it's either a thing I don't intend on adding or I already thought of it (your clawtrap thing was one of those times).
But I'm 99% sure this will stay on 6. unless for some reason someone else handles it. As for rewriting it from scratch on the new versions: it'd be logical to wait until minecraft stops it's rollercoaster of whacky updates
But another problem with this is explaining it all. It just can't be done. after all the work on the pdf, it's likely the main forum post(and curseforge) will supply very limited information.
I see the wikidot page has updated to include things I didn't realize were there (or that CassusSRN had access too). (Though the bronze bloom no longer exists; blooms are now bloomeries, and bloom now refers to partly smelted metal that need to be worked into purity on a anvil -- which are the proper meaning irl. Alloys are now mixed in crucibles.) But I've had the privilege of making crafting most of that stuff -- weapons, spit, tailor's bench, etc., just not the plate armor since I travel light -- its definitely there. (I've even made crafted sandwiches!) There's a lot of stuff there. I think soon is best read as "will be written about here soon."
Unfortunately it looks like they've been taken down. Even more unfortunate they're about to be obsolete (a good thing in itself if you think about it) and no updated version exists (not good at all).
Does it?! I didn't think it worked with anything newer than 1.8.5? (It would be good if it was updated to the new version, but the links on that page lead to "Error (404).")
Check the wikidot it has loads of new things such as using any metal for all the armors, new weapons, tailoring, and other mechanic improvements.
And by all this "new" things, is it actual things guaranteed from ap, or is it just worthless filler on the wiki?

Best of luck.
Oh, it's been done. And it's been done well.

i was not referring to the wiki, rather the things that are posted in the wikidot page
"Tailoring: Spinning wheel
etc.
(soon)"
that's it...

Dropbox link didn't work. I want update this addon to 1.8.7

Will this work with 1.7.2? I'm all for anything to add immersion, and I would love to have a legitimate blacksmith.
Ideally I want this on my server. I know how to install the mod, I just need to know if it will work with 1.7.2.
