I think i know why you are not able to make the shafts.
I try with NEI and give myself some smooth stone bricks, I heat the wrough iron and place the recipe in an anvil , but was like you said before: making that fail anvil sound..
I look at the stone bricks ID and was 43:13 or 43:5 labeled as slabs or so (maybe doubleslabs) and it look like a normal stone brick.
The correct block ID to stone bricks that actual make shafts is 98 ( get some in regular creative to test), then make it in survival mode.
Make sure you weren't using silverfish blocks in creative, I accidentally used them to build the new blast furnace and it took me a while to figure out why it wasn't working :/
I've got the new forging mechanic working (It's kind of fun). heavy hits are faster but bring quality down, light hits are weaker and bring it up, it starts at the top now, (so it shouldn't interfere with fast recipes). Might send it public later on

Question about latest private pack. Can't seem to make bronze. Tried bloomery with coal at the bottom. Tried crucible over a fire pit with coal on the side. I have the copper ingots and the tin ingots but nothing happens.
Does the crucible have to be the stone one? I have it one block above the fire pit and it doesnt seem to work. 2 copper ingots and one tine and coal in the crucible = nothing for me. So confused!!
you know you can connect forges now, to get a custom shape/size.
(and if you have a better texture, I could use it): not as big on blocks as items
Yes later on ill make it bigger, after i make the blast furnace.I'm on iron gattering level right now.
All yout textures are excellent the only thing that was bothering me was the hay roof. I just take you texture for it and mess up with color filters :
AP, have you considered taking out the ability to repair two items by crafting them together? I'm not sure how big of a deal that is, but I feel that feature doesn't really mix well with your vision.

C
F
P
(C: Crucible, F: Fire, P: Firepit(not needed, just keeps the flame))
This is what it does if its on a firepit or lava. What am I doing wrong?
The ingots each have to be separated.
Ex:
C T _
C _ _
_ _ _
C:copper T:tin.
As AP stated, you can throw them in in any equivalent ratio, so the following also works:
C C T
C C T
C C T
As this still forms a two to one ratio. Just takes longer, but they get cooked all at once. Nine bronze as opposed to three.
Could please add roanoke.enjin.com to the list of servers running Mine Fantasy please.

ps i just change the hay roof texture a bit to look like dead hay
