There's a download for a version that works with 1.7.x?!? Where is the link for that one?
I think you're looking for MineFantasy II, which is technically a different mod. I don't think there is a version of MF1 for 1.7 (yet?), and it will not be from AP -- but MF2 is available for 1.7.10 (only) on Curse.
How much has actually changed now since the 'before beta' stages of this mod? Have had a big break from MC and was wanting to get back into it through your modpack Jared. Is that still up to date?
Whether my modpack is up to date seems to have become a matter of opinion.
Let me see, AP stopped working on this to work on MineFantasy 2 (alpha). Several other people, including Sirse and nofole have had there hands on it (and fixed most of the bugs for the beta 1.0). I think nofole was also helping with MF2, and has talked about updating MF1 to 1.7+. There is also an MF1.5 or "one and a half" now which is super-hardcore, MF2 is sort-of MF light, while MF1 is still basically this. The most resent version of this mod is beta 1.4.4, and will probably stay that.
My modpack is on 1.4.4, and so also MC 1.6.4. There was another player creating a similar modpack based on MF2 and 1.7.10, but I think he may be disillusioned by the current direction of MF2 (I'll leave out the name).
I personally have been sick over the last couple month and just to worn out for gaming (or doing much out of bed) for the last couple months -- especially anything hardcore (well, lets say this has not been a good year for me). My sever still exists, but is mostly empty as not enough players have been active at the same time avoid loneliness (it also has a healing nerf).

That hurts m8, leaving out my name :P.
Yes i did start on a 1.7.10 version. mostly because 1.7 was new and had so many new mod possibility. also i started it when MF2 looked like it was more or less solid, with only a few more version before it gets out of alpha. Also, with a heavy load of Minetweaks, i was able to recreate the hardcore mode. but after a few updates by AP it became apparent that he had no idea why people gave a **** about his mod and decided to dumb down everything to the lowest common denominator. Hence why i have not posted anything about the 1.7 in months.

Well, you know I just didn't want you to get swamped with criticism for not being a fanboy about every thing AP does.
I do hope MF1 gets updated; I think nofole was doing that, but since I have no news I don't know how long to assume that is still true. Having light versus classic versions I think is a good idea, but I'm now I wonder if just "-classic" and "-lite" instead of 1 and 2 because to many people implying this is a newer version or sequel implies progress of plain betterness, and that the lower number isn't as up to date. Really, it should be made as obvious as possible this is now a family of mods and the family members aren't just updated versions of each other.
If you like. I never knew you left, I was just waiting for news -- I just assumed since the last version code was never released and nothing was said, development was still going. But sure, I think many people would like that -- those who like it to seem a little more hardcore.
That would be nice, Minefantasy 2 is fun, but lacks the hardcore feel that I know and love. Obviously it your choice, but I would love it if I could play MF 1 on 1.7

IMHO. 1.6 is the best version of Minecraft for mods, so I'm perfectly happy with playing on it. Obviously though, I'd love to to see as many people enjoy that really hardcore, easy to learn, hard to master gameplay that this mod provides as possible. I think that leaves AP in a tough place as he has to choose between audiences. Anyway, I might start playing on that server again Jared, if you're interested in getting it really happening again, I've got some mates who are really keen on giving this mod a go
Hey everyone, I'm just getting back into MC and modding and such and... Well, I have to say I don't know what I'm doing anymore. Is there an updated guide for the new versions out now, or anything like that (since the wiki is pretty outdated). Or even just some written instructions I could go on. If any of this is available, I'd be happy to get started on updating the wiki and making some videos for it to help the newbies out.

Well, most of the recent changes were by Nofole, who has made MineFantasy I (beta 1.4.4) basically done, or at least release quality, and was doing a really hard MF 1 1/2. Meanwhile AP has put together MineFantasy 2, which is now in alpha, and has most of the following now. There has been talk of updating MF1 to 1.7.10+, but a lot of the focus has switch to MF2.

Well, I know MF 2 fairly well, and 1.4.4 is close to how I remember it. It's the 1.5 stuff (I'm assuming that's 1/2) that's got me stumped.

I think a lot of that is (the MF1.5) not fully done yet, and only Nofole really know how its supposed to work. I tried it out, but didn't get far, if figure a few things it seems, and got helped with something (I think you're supposed to split logs on the log that gets placed?) Since I'm more into action-adventure that ultra-hard survival, and I got the impression a lot just wasn't done, I didn't do much with that.

Yeah, I figured you had to do something with logs on stumps, but couldn't figure out how to get the tools to work with that...
Most of what is being done now is unofficial, so its probably fine. I would considered it a good thing, but can't speak for the AnonymousProductions, the mods author. Only thing is, it might not get included as official since the author is now focusing on the sequel.

Ok so if content from this version is in the sequel, he could use the traductions.
Also NEI integration like forge, carpenting table,etc... could be useful.

Yeah, they do overlap in content, so that makes sense
There was an NEI plugin for some alpha version, but the one who made them stopped a while ago. Yes, every would NEI to work with the MF stuff again.

You don't know how happy and how stupid I feel XD Thank you so much We can play with this again!!
